Thanks for hosting us! Our stay at Ships Quarters was great. Olaf is a cozy space but the perfect stopping ground for activities around Bayfield, Lake Superior, and the Apostle Islands. Loved having the outdoor deck as well! Location is extremely walkable to Bayfield’s restaurants and activities. Would highly recommend this stay.

Room was as advertised and the location was perfect. Only thing I wish was noted more easily was the shower issue. It had a hand held shower wand, but no shower curtain and no place to put the wand when soaping up. Small but met our needs for a couple of nights.

we come to bayfield atleast once per year. we found this spot and had never stayed before. the property was clean, the communication with the owner was great - let us know that we could check in early as stated in the itinerary, and it was really comfortable. perfect location as well - close to downtown, but far enough to not be in the middle of it. i would stay again :)

The Olaf suite was exactly as advertised. It’s on the small side, so if you plan on spending a lot of time on the room or need a lot of space to stretch out your belongings, it may not work. But it was very clean and comfortable, and the decor, details, and furniture quality were more like a bed & breakfast with lots of charm, rather than some of the rather bare and flimsy-furnitured short-term rentals out there. Everything was functional, parking was easy, and the location was great. The unit comes with an outdoor deck with table and chairs that was a good place to hang out. We highly recommend this place!

Jack was extremely easy to work with and communicative. The mini fridge wasnt working correctly when we arrived and he got a new one within hours!!

Only "meh" moment is the entrance and back deck. Looks like its had better days...however we did enjoy sitting in the shade late afternoon.

“Olaf” is a cozy unit just as described with a nice deck for outside space. It is located downtown, so you can park your car in back and just walk everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again!

Just steps away from the boat dock, museum, shops, restaurants, Ravine trail. Enjoyed the hot tub and deck for plenty of relaxation time.

This was everything we needed for our quick stop in Bayfield. All of the shops and restaurants are within walking distance of this rental. And, bonus, you get a patio and whirlpool tub as well. Maybe the most affordable place in Bayfield.

This was a very clean bedroom and bathroom. The location enabled us to access restaurants, tourist dock and grocery store on foot, which we enjoyed. Just two minor facility topics to mention. The drain plug in the sink basin did not lift, nor could I seem to fix it, so I just lifted it out and left the drain open until we departed. AC was to be controlled by thermostat adjustment but AC did not respond. No problem though because the two windows in the rooms could be opened for cross-ventilation and night-time temps were cool. Overall, I judged this site to be a good value and would return to this site.

Property is just a bedroom and bath with small refrigerator and microwave. Stay was booked by my son so I did not know what to expect, the price for a Fourth of July weekend was about what one should expect. The place was clean and up-to-date; however, my wife and I are in our 70's so the stairs (especially in the rear were exhausting. The bed was a full size rather than queen so that also was a bit of a problem. Aside of these issues the property is in downtown Bayfield and if you are looking for a place to sleep close to shops, etc. this may suit your needs. (there are other rentals in this ame building that are bigger, they were all rented by the time we got there).

Nice spot, good location. Room was clean, bed was comfy. Only complaint was the Jacuzzi tub. Tub worked well but it was not set up so you could easily take a quick shower. There is no shower curtain so it was difficult not to spray the bathroom when just taking a shower.

The listing is very accurate, my partner and I needed a place to sleep and store our things. Most of our time was out in Bayfield or the island. The room was right by Andy's grocery store which was handy. The small fridge kept a few snacks for us. Olaf worked well as a base camp. The room was clean, the TV was new and big enough to clearly see from the bed. There is no actual shower, which was fine for us. There is a shower head that can be used in the tub. The tub can fit 2 nicely and the patio was a perfect place to enjoy the provided coffee and listen to Bayfield wake up. The patio also worked as a place to lock our bikes up.

Nice location!
We really enjoyed our vacation. We stayed in the Olaf unit. It’s much smaller than the pictures make it appear, but it was clean. It’s really just a bedroom and a bathroom. It does have a nice deck and it’s quiet. We also enjoyed the tub!
A couple of things that would improve the stay:
-Real cups for coffee and a couple of wine glasses
-lower back steps need some repair, loose boards

Nice location
We enjoyed our stay at this property. The location is just off main street and within close proximity to everything. The outside deck was a nice place to enjoy our morning coffee from the coffee shop around the corner, while we planned our activities each day. We would plan to stay again in the future.

Kayaking Trip
A friend of mine and myself stayed for two nights and went kayaking on Lake Superior. This room is wonderful. It is however better suited for a couple. We made it work just fine but we should have payed closer attention to the listing. It was deceiving that it showed the entire house and we had only 1 room on the back side. It’s probably just that it was my first time booking something like this and I didn’t know what to expect. We enjoyed our stay!

Waterfall Getaway
Wonderful stay in Ships Quarters "Olaf." Comfortable and convenient with microwave, small refrigerator, and jacuzzi. Best part: electric fireplace--a real treat during a stay that included snow in October! We were one half block from the grocery store and easy walking distance from many restaurants for easy take out food. We spent most days hiking and discovering waterfalls in area: 17 in all! Convenient for ferry ride to Madeline Island.

Small and rustic
Obviously a historic home is going to be dated and they did a nice job trying to update it with all the amenities, the only drawback was the musty smell of the room. With the cool fall air and the windows open it aired out nicely but the AC unit does not appear to follow any instructions (yes I had the same type of unit in my office in Iraq so it wasn't user error and I pointed the remote at the unit for any changes I tried to make)
