This was the perfect beachfront vacation for our first trip to Curaçao! The location was beautiful, with a walkout patio to the beach. Lots of beach chairs available every day, great snorkeling and swimming. The condo was clean and the perfect size for two couples. Petra was prompt in responding to questions as was her assistant Jacky. Great location to walk to shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!

This was our first trip to Curacao and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Communication was superb and although Petra wasn’t available for our trip Jackie was helpful with arrival and showing us around the property. The condo was clean and spacious. As others have said we did not need air conditioning but opened the huge sliding doors to allow the breeze in. We ate out most nights and couldn’t have been happier with the food at all restaurants. We walked to all but Mambo beach. We swam with the turtles and took a boat ride to Klein Curaçao which was wonderful. Beds were super comfortable. Beach was our own and the covered beach chairs was much appreciated. Sitting on the expansive deck at dusk was spectacular. Not one complaint. We will return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is very comfortable, delightfully close to the little beach, and cooling by the tradewinds meant we seldom used any AC. Several excellent restaurants in walking distance, and the museums etc just a short drive away....when we wanted to leave the super relaxing and quiet front porch and view.

Family of 4, with 2 teenagers stayed for a week over New Years ‘22. Great condo with beautiful art by Nena Sanchez, steps away from the beach that has both a pool and a private lagoon. No need for air conditioning during the day, nice breeze flow through the condo. Petra was very helpful and easily reachable.

We stayed at The Strand for 10 weeks. The location is great, near lots of restaurants, walking distance to downtown. The condo was well equipped and as shown on the VRBO website. Property Manager Petra was very responsive! We will be back.

This was our third visit to this property in three years. Very well suited for a couple with or without a couple of kids. Unit is starting to show signs of wear. Property manager very accommodating. We would return to this property.

We had a very good 8 nights stay at the Strands’ Apartment 1E. The owner, Mrs. Petra Spelter, was not available during our stay. Therefore, we didn’t get the benefit of her hospitality. We were happy with the service provided by the substitute manager, Mrs. Jacky Hurtado. She was prompt in responding to our WhatsApp messages during our stay. We agree with other reviewers that this location is perfect. We love the comfort of this clean apartment, secluded private beach, gated parking lot, and round-the-clock security. Below are few comments which may be helpful for future guests. You will need to buy shampoo, conditioner, body soap, extra toilet paper, and laundry detergent. In the kitchen, there was salt, pepper, a bit of sugar, balsamic vinegar, dishwashing detergent and sponge. Check all the cupboards before you head out to buy whatever else you might need, such as paper towel, coffee, cooking oil, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, etc. The pots and pans, silverware, dishes, cups, etc. are of good quality and more than adequate for our group of three persons. The safe is large enough for your laptop. Do remember to ask the manager for the code to use the safe. The cupboard above the refrigerator has appliance manuals, and paper bags which you might need for grocery shopping. There are some snorkel gears in a kitchen drawer, as well as some beach gears above the washer and dryer. You will find the broom in the closet outside the front door, as well as a hand-held broom and dustpan in the cupboard under the oven. The dryer has a condenser unit at the upper left corner, which collects moisture from drying the wet clothes. You should empty the condenser after each drying cycle. When full, the dryer would beep constantly without working properly. The dining area is located outside, not inside. Unlike the breezy beach area, this porch area is very hot and humid. Moreover, you are likely to get bitten by mosquitoes while enjoying the gorgeous ocean view in the dining area. Do bring mosquito spray and/or mosquito coil to enjoy eating outside. Lighting is poor in the bathroom. As some reviewers stated, the bathroom mirrors are hung for very tall people, and quite useless for short people like us. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. We highly

We wanted a beach front vacation, away from crowds, with convenient activities- unit 1E in The Strand was perfect! Great location- close to everything, easy access to major roadways, restaurants, grocery stores, and activities. Comfortable- furniture & beds were all comfortable. Had all the amenities we needed; modern kitchen and bathrooms. Washer/dryer in Spanish & easy to figure out. Relaxing- quiet, only one or two couples enjoying the beach/swimming while we were there. Beach chairs are plentiful and comfortable and palapas for everyone. Beach- sandy entrance, lovely swimming and snorkeling. The pool was refreshing. Property- clean, beautiful, quiet and safe. Petra was there to greet us and wish us farewell. She was kind and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Second time in this unit. Excellent for couple or young family. Beautiful covered veranda just off private beach. Short walk to restaurants. Short drive to town and grocery store.

The space was clean, quiet, and pretty much perfect. After going to a few local beaches we realized it was better to stay here and just enjoy the private beach. This place really felt like a home.

Petra is an incredible host. She was always available for advice and any questions. The place is a little heaven next to the ocean. It is a truly remarkable place where one can recharge and relax with the sound of the ocean as your neighbour. One of the best places we stayed.

All I can say is that if you stay somewhere else you will be disappointed...Waking up/ going to sleep to the GORGEOUS view was amazing..the property is well kept, security is top notch, the condo complex is in walking distance to two fantastic restaurants..and of course a short drive to many others..will definitely stay again..

What a beautiful home and helpful manager. Petra answered all of our questions in a timely manner and helped us to navigate our first trip to Curacao.

The pics are accurate. The condo is beautiful and equipped with state of the art appliances and artwork from a famous local artist. The expansive shaded porch is private and overlooks the private lagoon. The pool and beach are in great condition and the complex is small so there are never too many people. There is gear in the room including snorkels, fins and even beach stuff for young children. Several great restaurants are in walking distance but they book fast, so reserve when you arrive. (Fishalicious is the best! ) The parking lot is secured with a electronic gate and guarded at night. Note that while the beachfront comprises high end properties like this and the nearby Avila Hotel- like many islands, the adjacent 2nd tier neighborhood is made of small homes inhabited by local residents. We never felt unsafe however. Also there was a breeze everyday and despite being there in July, it was much more comfortable than the hot muggy Midwest weather. Petra the manager was very responsive and helped us find the right resources for planning our stay. She also was appreciative that we treated this beautiful place with respect. Please do the same.

We loved eVerything about our recent stay. Petra was very helpful and accommodating. The unit was incredibly clean and inviting. And the views are spectacular - we will be back!

Petra was a wonderful hostess and met us at the Strand to give us our keys. She even provided eggs, bread, iced tea and beers for us to eat which was very nice. The unit was on the end and was very quiet but air conditioning system is very loud. The kitchen was very modern and had everything that we needed for our stay. The beach area and private lagoon were beautiful! Lots of fish in the lagoon if you choose to snorkel but be careful as we did see some box jellyfish and other jellyfish in the lagoon area at times. Pool was clean and warm. Centrum Supermarket is the best grocery store on the island with their own bakery for fresh bread and bakery items, large meat counter and lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Alves Supermarket is another good choice for groceries. Broadway Market is closest to the Strand but wouldn't recommend it as the store is dirty and some of the grocery items had expired dates and the prices were very high. Green House Restaurant at Mambo Beach area was an excellent restaurant with large menu options. Be sure to try the bacon wrapped shrimp on the Starter/Appetizer menu. Fabulous!! Overall an excellent place to stay away from the crowds of tourists but still just ten minutes from town.

Location-location-location. Property just as advertised. Property manager Petra wonderful. Run-don't walk-to this property.

We had a great time. Enjoyed Curaçao very much. The view from our patio was absolutely beautiful!! The lagoon was wonderful. It all looks just as the listing presented it. The Strand is one of the finest places on the island. The unit is very large and nice. It does have a very loud fan on the air conditioner, so plan on that. The furniture is getting a little tired, too, but not a real issue. Especially since we sat at the table on the patio most of the time!! We used the kitchen some, and it was very well equipped. We rented a car and drove easily all over the island state. We enjoyed the different beaches. Willemstad was a joy! The food was excellent every where we went. We met some wonderful people. Everyone was very kind with lots of smiles. All in all, we had a very fun 2 week stay and would gladly go back.

This is a great property!. It has everything you need and the beach and snorkeling are great. It is close enough to walk and explore sights and restaurants but by renting a car we managed to see lots of the island!

Fantastic location with nice little beach and pool. Modern inside and safe parking. I would stay here again.

Perfect vacation

The property was everything I had hoped it would be. Clean, spacious, wonderful virtually private pool and ocean pool. Great place for snorkeling, dozens of species of fish including both a lionfish and a rockfish (stayed away from them). A friendly moray eel, iguanas, colorful birds. Especially enjoyed sitting on one of the beach lounge chairs late at night. Appliances took a few minutes to puzzle out, still not sure of the washer and dryer controls but did well enough for all our laundry. Punda was interesting to visit, once. Queen Anne bridge nearly killed me (okay, my own fault). The heart shaped figure near the bridge was a good idea, people put locks on it rather than the bridge. Would have spent a lot more time at Papagayo, including the restaurants, if we had found this area sooner. All in all, an enjoyable vacation. I highly recommend The Strand, and the restaurants to both sides, highly.

The property was wonderful. The snorkeling in the cove was such fun - fish, octopus. Very close to many good restaurants. Easy walk to downtown and the local grocery store. Our only suggestion would be to provide some additional toilet paper and maybe a box or two of tissues.

This property is really nice & Petra the mgr. very helpful! Everything was in order & if we had an issue Petra took care of it right away! Our only problem was that the patio was too hot! You feel no wind there because the wall between the villas blocks it! :-( You want to sit out there but then you're sweating within 5-minutes and need to return to the air conditioning. They really need a ceiling fan out there!! The snorkeling right out front was awesome, especially the lagoon to your right, lots of great coral & colorful fish! ;-)
