If you are looking for the BnB type of experience then this is for you. Our preference is a Vrbo without a host. The owner greeted us and made a comment about us checking in late, we did not realize a cerfew existed. The layout of the home is very odd - locks on the OUTSIDE of the bedroom doors because the bathroom is also the foyer. lots of art and area rugs everywhere, even the paths. outdoors.

cozy and relaxing farm which provided everything we needed.

Eclectic! Interesting stuff everywhere in the yards and trail through the woods.
Misinformation: intended to cook and share Thanksgiving dinner. Site said seating for 8! No dining area because a futon bed is in the kitchen!
Host made every attempt to fix the problem, provided chairs and card table.Served and ate dinner in the upstairs bedroom:)(she also said we could cancel, upon our arrival if it wasn’t satisfactory) After driving four hours that wasn’t an option. We made it work!!

The bungalow apartment had everything we could have needed. I enjoyed the artwork in the breezeway between the main house and the apartment…so much to look at and it looked so cool at night with the white string lights. The bed upstairs was comfortable and the room kept a comfortable temperature. It would have been nice to have a small bistro table and maybe a loveseat or armchair downstairs, rather than the additional bed. There isn’t really a good place to eat besides the table outside. There were cigarette butts in the ashtray on that table which wasn’t the hugest deal to us, but we aren’t smokers so it made the area not as inviting to sit down. The cold breakfast options were super thoughtful, and Don was very welcoming when I arrived and showed me around the apartment. Definitely more of a B&B experience then the typical VRBO.

We were looking for something a little different that was located close to where we previously lived. This place was perfect for our needs. The owners are great! Very friendly, great communication, clean accommodations. We would definitely book here again.

While the host was friendly and easy to communicate with the property was less than ideal. For one, it was infested with Assassin bugs. My husband had to remove at least a dozen each night. Cleanliness was lacking, we moved the footstool for the upstairs lounge chair and discovered lost clothing and dog toys from what I am assuming is a previous stay. For the bathroom, only the shower worked as the bath faucet that could be used to fill the tub was covered in tape. Lastly, the property was clearly owned by someone who felt the need to hoard. This included giant boxes of rotten vegetables in the walkway. As well as a large chef knife hanging out of a box of random supplies located by the house where it could be easily accessed by a small child. In the future, I will be staying at hotels.

Property is a junkyard full of statutes old furniture and rusty patio furniture. The bungalow we stayed in was infested with box elder bugs, commonly known as stink bugs. It is full of old old area rugs that look filthy. The property in our view is unsafe, particularly for older adults as nothing is level and outside rugs and mats are a tripping hazard. Worst VRBO property we've ever stayed at.

Hello,
I stayed here for about a week it was exactly what I needed. This homey ADU was so wodnerful, I am not able to do stairs very well so I stayed downstairs most the time. I slept on the futon all week as well and it was comfortable for me. I have lots of body pain and other physical challenges with walking and other things the bed didn’t bug me and I was able to get around with my walker around the property. The ground isn’t all level as it’s near a creek so there’s some gradient, I was able to go down the path into the forest and out almost everyday! For that I am so great full, the forest and creek views and sounds everything so beautiful! I was able to move around inside easily (I love smaller spaces as well), I know how to utilize space and there was plenty of room for what I needed. The host even left fresh organic fruit which was so lovely! I kept eating it all.! As well as other breakfast options which is very sweet. I liked the kitchen space, it’s got what you need for most everything. The bathroom was lovely and easy to get in and out of and plenty of space for my walker to help me.
The upstairs is spacious and has a desk with a view that was so lovely.
It’s near the woods so there’s bound to be woods related things such as bugs here and there etc. this is very typical for most spaces in wooded areas, I am use to sustainable practices as well for gardening which they also do a lot of which is so lovely!!! So yes there’s some fruit here and there because they’re allowing it to decompose back into the earth - the natural cycle of life. I love it! Helping our planet and travelers!!
The hosts are so wonderful, excellent with communicating, and so helpful. I can’t wait to go back.
Thank you so much!

Mary met us at check in and made us feel incredibly welcome. She is such a warm and kind person. The cabin had everything from goodies to filtered water to bagels and eggs from her and Don's chickens. When we asked for a recommendation to a nearby food pod, Mary knew exactly where one was, and it did not disappoint!
We would happily stay here again!

Eclectic for sure. Close to shopping with a great creek in the back.
1.0 / 5.0
The good: Don and Mary will jump through hoops and knock themselves out to make sure you're happy. The bad: Everything else.
For starters, these other reviews are just NOT accurate. We understand that people may not want to hurt Don and Mary's feelings in the reviews, and we understand that having this property is important to Don and Mary...but if you're going to spend your hard-earned money, just be warned: Nothing about this listing is accurate.
The ad says it sleeps 5. It does not. Downstairs is a kitchen area with a fridge, stove, sink, overly cluttered counters, a coffee table and a futon frame overloaded with oversized mattresses. No place to really prepare food unless you stack up all the stuff they've loaded onto the counters, or put it all on the floor. Once you've prepared your food, there's no place to sit and eat. The futon is made up like a bed, and the mattresses flop over the side so there's nothing steady to sit on. No table or comfy chair. Plus, the entire futon tilts in towards the room so you can't sleep on it. Upstairs is a queen sized bed. That's fine. Then there's a stuffed chair with its ottoman-mate shoved up against it, all made up to look like a sleeping area. You can't get comfortable on it. It's not a bed. SO, the ad says it sleeps 5, when it really only sleeps 2.
Next, the clutter is everywhere. EVERYWHERE. VRBO won't let us upload photos, so we can't show you what it's like. Outside, there's no room to really walk around on the "lovely wooded acreage" because it is overwhelmed with a disturbing amount of clutter, garbage, and knick-knacks, piled on top of each other. It starts at your door and keeps going. Inside, the bathroom counters are overloaded, the kitchen counters are overloaded, the two small side tables are overloaded. The coffee table isn't, for what it's worth, and the clutter is just starting to spread upstairs..
Lastly, we opened the fridge to find a 1/2 gallon of milk and three rolls of bagels. Very thoughtful, but we don't drink milk and we don't eat bagels. Don brought us MORE of each. We also found a lot of food that previous guests had left behind -- opened containers of dip, sauce, salsa, etc. First, that's against Health Department Code. Second, it's just gross. We bolted after one night, as we suspect many others have.
This place is NOT AS ADVERTISED. PERIOD.

Great location. The house had everything I needed. The fresh fruit and flowers were a nice touch. The coffee was good and the pastries, and breakfast items were a nice suprise.

It is located at a rustic farm and yet is very close to civilization. Shopping Mall is just a mile away! A pair of friendly and helpful hosts who would accommodate our needs. Great place to stay and enjoy the surrounding!

Enjoyed the stay!
My husband and two of our grown up sons stayed for at this small cottage. It is very convenient, clean and comfy. It offers morning snacks, delicious coffee, and plenty of linen and blankets and everything for a restful and peaceful stay. Will definitely consider it for next time we visit Portland OR. Thank you! Uniquely charming property
Mary and Don were very communicative and flexible with our changing arrival time at the end of a "road trip." They greeted us on check-in, gave a brief tour, let us know they were there if we needed anything, and we didn't see much of them after that. It was a welcome balance of personal service and privacy. AC was on to pre-cool the room before we got there. Bed was comfy. The bathroom is oddly placed, but does have doors on each entry for privacy if needed. There is not much "living" space inside (a futon that was made into a bed, coffee table and one chair), but I feel that was well represented in the pictures, and was sufficient for this trip, where we mainly just needed a place to sleep. Overall a lovely experience. We would happily stay here again.

Totally worth an extended!
All reviews that we looked over, were totally true and accurate! Our expectations and needs were more than met. We wished we could have stayed longer, Don and Mary did a great job making the property feel like home!!!

Great area!
The hosts were very responsive and kind. Linens were ironed! Breakfast food was provided and appreciated.
The main drawback was the bathroom. You walk through it to enter and privacy was difficult to achieve. Maybe if it was just a single person or at most a couple, it would work but for our group of five, it didn’t.
Beautiful surroundings with lots of interesting ‘art’.

Portland Hidden Gem
This B&B is such a great place! The owners are super friendly, open and love gardens and nature! Super near Clackamas Mall and any other needs, and just a hope skip and jump to downtown portland, TOTALLY worth it. Enjoy morning walks with your coffee (or tea lol) on their little trails in the back along a creek and other nice areas!

Like a B&B
Very nice cottage that had a continental breakfast, tea, and all of the amenities we might have wanted. The upstairs bedroom was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and there was a great tv for watching movies. We would stay here again for sure.

Charming Garage Apt. with Scott River in Backyard
This separate garage apartment is very charming. The couple who own it, and live in the house next door, are very kind. They answered my email and accepted my last minute request to stay with a pet, immediately. The unit includes an upstairs large bedroom, with a comfortable bed and direct TV. The downstairs includes walking into the full bathroom with a tub/shower and toilet. Unlike what I read of other reviews, there are doors to shut make the bathroom/toilet private. The bathroom includes items such as shampoo, toothbrush etc. if forgotten. The kitchen and living space is nice, with a slider door to a nice patio overlooking the yard over Scott Creek. The full kitchen includes a stove/oven, microwave, mini-frig, coffee pot etc., and is stocked with everything needed for cooking and preparing food. The sitting area includes a futon, for more people to sleep. There are a lot to look at with old-European knickknacks, and makes the experience unique. The very best part is the property backs up to Scott Creek, and there is access to a nature trail. I enjoyed my time there. The couple and their three outdoor-cats were very hospitable.

Suggestions
We enjoyed our stay and would stay again in the future. I would suggest that since there is not a door to close off the toilet, a curtain in front of the toilet would be nice for privacy.

Paradise in the city
Awesome place to stay and only a few minutes from Portland. The place was cozy, clean and the decorations inside and out were very unique and charming. Thoughtful accommodations included, a well stocked kitchen and fridge with breakfast supplies, snacks and fresh ground coffee. As well as books, puzzles, games and toys! Don and Mary were very helpful and generous, providing excellent info on attractions in the area and our needs. The creek and property reminds me of my own home in Trail, Oregon. We enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this property! Danke dir! Sandy, Michael, Jessica, Gabriel, and Yuna Geary

Great whimsical stay
If you are looking for an out of the ordinary place to stay, please consider Scott Farm. We were recently there for a week and thoroughly enjoyed Don and Mary's 5* hospitality. Accommodations charming - loved the very retro decorations and furnishings (kinda like a central European inn or chalet). Great scenic and rustic trail to walk the dog and exercise. Grateful for breakfast items and gourmet coffee. If you're in the Portland or Happy Valley area, this is a great place to stay!

An oasis in the midst of the development of Happy Valley.
Particularly enjoyed the cedar trees, the creek and the access to walking trails. The owners were very attentive and left us lots of food. The apartment was clean. The place was otherworldly and a little overwhelming with all the little decorations everywhere.
