Gorgeous Newer Home on Mt. Desert Island, Minutes to Acadia
Récemment terminé la maison sur terrain arboré, rue résidentielle à Bass Harbor, sur le côté calme de Mt. Desert Island (rénovations achevées au printemps 2012). We had a wonderful weeklong stay with members of our extended family. The house and property is beautiful, well maintained and clean. Kitchen is fully stocked with all items necessary to cook. Plenty of games, books, and some puzzles to keep people entertained at the house. The hosts have provided detailed check-in information on how to find the house, along with a book detailing check out and other important information pertaining to the rental. One thing to note, which the host mentioned they plan to make note of for future renters, is that the master shower can take a little bit to heat up on the first day. When I reached out about this they were very prompt in their response. We enjoyed everything about our stay here.

We stayed at Maria’s house for our elopement wedding weekend with our family and friends. It was absolutely perfect! Much bigger than the pictures make it seem. Very clean, comfy and homey. The kitchen is completely stocked to cook full meals and they even had a high chair for our little guy. Very quiet neighborhood, ample parking. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for our week in MDI, we will definitely be back!

Stayed with family and a family we are friends with for the week went hiking in the mornings and exploring the area in the afternoon. Lots to see and do if your the outdoors type and love nature. Enjoyed cooking in the big well equipped kitchen for dinner before we started playing board games before bed. Kind of a long ride to bar harbor and Acadia national park other than that no complaints very quit beautiful area

Had a great stay. Was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Area was quiet and beds comfortable. Host was excellent and quick to respond. Minutes to Bass Harbor light about 30 minutes to other major Acadia attractions

Very nice home with an open concept. It was perfect for us. It had everything we needed and more. I traveled with my adult daughter, son-in-law, 13 month old granddaughter and adult son. We each had our own bedroom. The owner supplied us with a high chair and toys for our granddaughter. We all had a great time! Would definitely stay at this home again the next time we return to Acadia National Park. HIghly, highly recommend staying here!!! A family trip we will never forget!

We loved our stay and can’t wait to return. The location is magical and quiet, both on the street and the location on MDI. The house has a cozy warm feel with tons of space. It was very clean and bright and was perfect for our annual Acadia getaway.

Beautiful home with plenty of natural light and accommodations for family and friends. We truly enjoyed spending our Acadia adventure at this lovely house in a quiet, natural woods setting not far from the water and the park!

We booked our trip a bit late and this was probably the nicest place that was still available for the end of August. The host was nice and accommodating and even opened the windows for us before arriving to air the place out. I’m just super clean and overly picky so the things I mention might not bother most people. The house was not cleaned to my standards. We found dog hair all over and had to take our socks off at night and wash them separate due to how much stuck to them. We don’t have dogs so to us this is quite icky. We had our baby in a travel crib in the master bedroom but had to move her almost near the door because the big window on the front wall is cracked. The dressers and mirrors and furniture could use some updating. The walls and floors are in need of repair. The mosquitos are horrendous due to the house being located on a swamp/wetland area. The neighbors are awful. Loud and have dogs that roam around without boundaries (one nearly attacked my 4 year old). The location isn’t ideal but it’s doable. On the plus side my kids appreciated the toys and games. Overall we had an ok stay but I would not stay here again and instead find a cleaner quieter place.

Very quaint and beautiful property. We had a great time here exploring Acadia National Park. Bass Harbor light house is only 5’ away. The house has great views and a spacious backyard naturally enclosed by trees. Good for families with kids; lots of baby stuff in the basement and board games in the family room.

Book this house! Everything about our stay was amazing. The house is gorgeous. The property and location are perfect - especially if you want to stay on MDI, but not in Bar Harbor. The host is responsive and personable. A true Maine experience! Can't wait to stay again!

This was a very comfortable, nice home -- well stocked, radiant heating on the first floor, with thermostat-controlled gas fireplace. Games and books for kids. Fantastic little glade of trees out front. House is private and set back from the road. The only thing about the listing is that we had the impression it was just a quick walk down the road to see the harbor, but it was much further than we expected. Overall, a great place to stay and we'd definitely stay again!

Our stay was amazing. We stayed 5 nights. This house was perfect for exploring Acadia and surrounding areas. We used this house as our base point. We explored Bar Harbor, Acadia, and Bass Harbor. The owners were super helpful with quick responses. We grabbed groceries on the way in. Kitchen staples were already available which was amazing! Highly recommend this property.
We loved the Chart Room for a waterfront dinner. We loved exploring downtown Bar Harbor. We were not fans of Ketch kitchen near the house-their service was poor and food was cold.

Maria was super easy to work with. This home is very well apportioned with cookware and a propane grill to prepare your own meals (including pop overs!) as well as basics like cooking oil, olive oil, coffee maker with filters etc. The home is in great shape and very very clean. We love the Bass Harbor side of the island because it’s quieter. The neighbors were a bit noisy 2 of the 3 nights we were there until about 10:30pm, but not a deal breaker. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this listing or stay there again!

Our family of 7, 2 adults and 5 teenagers, stayed here for a week and loved it. The house was very open and spacious and gave everyone plenty of room. It was very clean and comfortable and had plenty of extras. My husband and I sat on the porch every morning enjoying the quiet peacefulness watching deer walk through the yard. Our family spent the majority of our time in Acadia and it was a short 30 minute drive from the house. The owners communicated very well and were quick to answer questions I had about the stay prior to arrival. We have stayed in many VRBO homes but this has been our favorite house and experience. We would love to stay here again!

Our group of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids) enjoyed a very comfortable week at this property. The house was extremely clean and comfortable, and included all of the necessities! We enjoyed being on the “quiet side” and found this to be a great home base for our group. Extremely quiet and private, while being accessible to hiking, food and all of the adventures that MDI has to offer. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing place to stay!
The owner was easy to reach and very accommodating. The house was immaculate and very well stocked for all of our needs! It was only 25 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor with plenty of hikes and sites along the way.

This home has it everything you need to make your stay enjoyable, from a full stocked kitchen to extra towels to a washer and dryer. A very comfortable place to relax. At the recommendation of the owner we tried the Ketch Restaurant and saw what has to be one of the most beautiful sunsets in Maine. Found another great little side of the road restaurant just down from Bass Harbor Lighthouse. And so much wonderful hiking!! This house is not far from hiking or shopping in Bar Harbor(about 20-2 minutes) My only wish is we should have booked an extra night or 2. Now we know for next time

Our family stayed for a week in April and this was the perfect location. The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with plenty of items. We had great communication with Maria. We will definitely stay here again for future visits to Acadia.

This home was immaculate upon our arrival. It had everything we needed to enjoy our 4 night Mothers Day get away. Everything we needed was there for our use. The yard was well maintained and the location was close to many awesome hiking and sightseeing spots.

Ryan and Maria are impeccable host/hostess. The home is sparkling clean, perfectly appointed. Linens, pillows and master bed so comfy we are asking what mattresses they buy. We loooove to cook. The kitchen far exceeded our expectations. It's stocked with essentials that get you started (salt, pepper, flour, sugar, oils, vinegars and more). The equipment, pans, and lovely dishes make cooking for a month long stay perfect. Thanks to Maria's support, we had no internet speed issues as professional programmers (upload/download). She went the extra mile to ensure speeds were optimal and added a card table that helped in setting up two "office" spaces so we could work remotely. The neighborhood is super convenient to all things Acadia and MDI. We buzzed around during off time hiking (yes in Feb/Mar) and it was stunning. Put on a set of little anti skid spikes and you're set. t was the perfect break to stretch our legs, have more a bit more space, a lovely fireplace, great outdoor activities (hiking, alpine skiiing, ice skating and fishing, ...and much more) during the pandemic. Mainers and business owners were very safe, careful following covid guidelines.If you are a family and/or have grandparents who want to join given inoculations now, Ryan and Maria have you covered. I can't imagine a better stocked home for a family with children of all ages. We have stayed in homes all over the world, their home is one of the best we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. They were so supportive, provided lots of great information as we needed it and stayed in touch throughout our stay. You know people are beyond lovely when folks we met all over MDI knew them and mentioned what a great couple they are.Thank you, Ryan and Maria, for a much needed break from the city, a change of scenery in your lovely property -- the walks to and from the village were delightful, and for your generosity and graciousness.

We loved our Maine cottage. It was clean, nicely decorated, quiet. Everything you need for cooking was available. We love to cook our own food while on vacation and the kitchen was perfect. Everything worked perfectly and we had all of the niceness of being at home. Marie was great and was always available and was concerned that everything we needed was available. Spent our time at Acadia national park. It was an adventure second to none. So, so awesome. Hoping to come back to the cottage again soon. Our pet Molly loved her time as well. Ps. Thanks for the live deer in the landscaping. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Thank you Maria.

This property is on a beautiful setting- surrounded by trees, quiet, serene. Gorgeous house, perfect for cooking, relaxing, games. It is a drive from Acadia- 30-40 minutes, but such a lovely setting it is well worth it. Couldn't imagine a better stay.Close to Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor (Lighthouse) and go to Beal's for seafood!Thank you for a wonderful stay- we hope to be back!

Property is located on a quiet private road close to Acadia. Home perfect for a family with kids, well kept, and complete with everything you need for your stay. We will definitely stay here again on future visits to MDI

House was very clean on arrival. Pictures were very accurate, plus there was a big back yard, which the kids enjoyed. There were a lot of mosquitos but luckily before we even got to the store there was can of bug spray at the house. House is decorated very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
