The rooms were extremely clean
That it was a communal bathroom

I liked that my room was very comfortable with a quality bed, window AC unit and fridge/microwave.
The smell of smoke is prominent in the bathroom(s) and the bath towels are quite small. Would love access to coffee either in the room or in the lobby part of the hotel.

comfortable room
it smelled a little like cigarette smoke

I’m still not a hotel as you
might anticipate it’s more a house of multiple occupancy. People are friendly enough and Vinny is an absolute star who couldn’t have been more helpful
Shared bathrooms thin walls so you can hear ever conversation or tv show in the house simultaneously

As soon as I pulled up on the Dead End Street last building on the right manager came out and greeted me directed me where to park immediately felt relax in there sense of security and feeling safe as soon as I walked in there a beautiful chandelier a beautiful Christmas decorations with a Christmas tree it felt like home in the lobby very friendly manager took me to my room there was mints on the dresser and complimentary Waters in the refrigerator and the big screen TV was amazing everything so clean after traveling from noisy Atlantic City it was pleasure to be in a quiet area quiet building a nice white comforter with clean white sheets and fluffy pillows it was like sleeping on feathers the best night sleep I ever had anywhere it's a Victorian style building feels like being at home away from home definitely great value for the money a nice change from the hustle and buffalo of regular noisy commercial hotels I am definitely coming back in the summertime to enjoy the boardwalk and the beach that's only block away and a super scenery of the New York skyline manager Vinny very very super friendly even made me a cup of coffee upon my arrival the hospitality and the personal attention was amazing he also recommended several restaurants in the area where I enjoyed my dinner would definitely recommend this place 10 Stars
I can't think of anything I didn't like sorry but everything I loved and I definitely be coming back with my wife in the summertime to enjoy the beach and the boardwalk and then he also told me there's a water park right next to the amusement park.

Not to far, not to close. A safe place you can rest your head. Friendly not a resort but a safe place to rest & get through stormy weather. Prices are fair for what you get. Rest!
You can't expect anything for the price other than a place to rest.

The two older men we met were nice that's it.
Everything, there's two shared bathrooms which are very old, the room was very old and outdated it's more of a boarding house than a hotel we couldn't bring ourselves to spend one night there. Would not recommend this place to anyone no matter what the price is.

they should work more on the smell in the hallways

Great budget option if you're going to be at the beach for most of the day anyway. Minimal amenities and shared bathrooms/showers, but you have wifi, a tv, and ac in your room which is enough to sleep.

The room was perfect for me. It was European small but just what I needed for a good nights sleep. I didn't have problems with anything. Great value. The host is very personable.
I was disturbed by some people that were very loud and upset about something. They were yelling out and slamming doors. I am not sure why, but there was someone that arrived with authority and then things got quiet.

Near the beach. I was attending a Retreat at a Church in Middletown and it was very convient to that location.
I didn’t need anything better.

The location is perfect for a Sandy Hook visit. The person doing check-in, Vinnie, is very friendly and helpful. The room and the facility are very clean, much more than I would've anticipated for the price. It's a wonderful place for a no-frills place to rest your head.
The bed is very uncomfortable, and the pillows are very flat. The half bath toilet takes a while to flush. The parking is limited.

The manager (Vinny) lives on the 1st floor, he met me on the doorsteps as I parked my vehicle and addressed me by name. There is a doorbell camera that monitors outdoor activity/provides security, along with Vinny, who knows the neighborhood and watches the hotel to ensure everyone feels secure and safe (which I did). I own a sporty car, no issues parking or security. The room is European Normal for a single person, roughly 100 sq/ft- plenty of room for one person. The Citadel Room (room had a pic of the Citadel Military College in SC on the wall) included a window AC (plenty of cold air); cold fridge, dresser, small table, chair, microwave, cable tv, night table with lamp, large mirror and a very comfortable bed (w/sheets, blanket, pillow). No issues using the shower bathroom, I stayed 5 nights, took a shower nightly, never had an issue with anyone else using the bathroom. I had one business meeting and then spent the rest of my time at Sandy Hook Beaches, when I returned Vinny met me at the door every evening, made me feel like a valued customer (kudos). Would stay here again, NP.
The picture on the booking.com website just doesn't do the hotel justice, strong value (bang for buck) hotel albeit a 2 star hotel (hey, it is what it is).

The toilet not flushing and I didn't like to leave the room to use the bathroom

The gentleman at reception was polite. At least it was not noisy in the night.
The room stank of cigarette smoke. There was a dead adult bed bug on the pillow. The mattress was old, cheap, with springs creaking loudly every time you moved in bed. The comforter was thin, threadbairn, and delapidated. There was no internet. No private bathroom.

Vinnie was quite hospitable and was available at all times as needed. He made sure everything was right and made guests feel welcome
It was perfect for me simple but perfect
