Simply Awesome… Harbour Country Cottage est une résidence de vacances toute neuve (février 2019) située à Harbert Michigan (entre New Buffalo et Sawyer), à quelques pas d'une magnifique plage de sable privée du lac Michigan et à quelques minutes des Warren Dunes , caves, brasseries, magasins et restaurants!
Située à seulement 130 km du centre-ville de Chicago, votre maison de vacances est située dans un quartier paisible entouré de pins immenses, avec une belle plage de sable privée sur le lac Michigan à seulement 1 km de marche. En vous dirigeant vers la maison, vous êtes accueillis par un porche géant ensoleillé avec des chaises à bascule relaxantes - idéal pour siroter votre café matinal ou tout simplement sanglant! En entrant dans la porte d’entrée, vous serez ébloui par le concept à ciel ouvert en bois de noyer de la planche en noyer - une cuisine de 25 ’(plafond de grande taille) / grande salle. La cuisine entièrement équipée est la plus proche de l'entrée… très pratique pour stocker vos provisions pour votre séjour. Il y a une table en chêne avec 8 chaises et une île avec 4 places pour les repas de vos groupes.
Le salon est directement adjacent à la cuisine, il est donc facile de prendre une collation ou de boire un verre tout en se relaxant sur les canapés rembourrés. Le foyer au gaz en pierre sur deux étages est idéal pour se détendre en soirée après une journée de plage ou pour se rendre dans les établissements les plus proches. Il y a une télévision 58 pouces 4K sur le manteau pour regarder ce film en panne sur Prime ou Netflix. Si la soirée est chaude, profitez de l’énorme porche arrière doté d’une table à manger pour 6 personnes et d’un grand coin salon profond donnant sur la cour boisée et le ravin… si paisible.
À l'étage supérieur, vous trouverez un spacieux coin salon ensoleillé avec un coin chambre à coucher avec deux lits jumeaux et une autre télévision 4K. C'est l'endroit idéal pour jouer à des jeux de société en famille ou faire une sieste au soleil après avoir lu votre roman de plage préféré. Vous y trouverez également l'une des deux chambres principales (king), qui dispose également d'un lit de repos avec lit gigogne pour les plus petits. La salle de bain est soulignée par une grande baignoire sur pied pour une baignade relaxante. Les 3 autres chambres et salles de bains sont au niveau principal. We stayed in this beautiful home nestled in peaceful woods at the end of August with our 3 young children, ages 6 months-5 years. It had everything we needed to be comfortable in the house as well as at the beach. The 10 minute walk to the private beach was beautiful. Not the most ideal with 3 young kids but we truly enjoyed the walk and with their set up it made it easy going to the beach. Our kids loved seeing the deer every day and even some turkeys! The owners were fast with communication and helpful if we needed something. I would recommend this to anyone and I would stay here again.

We had a great time spent at this very nice house near the beach. Front and back porches were excellent and very relaxing. Accommodations were clean and kitchen was well stocked. Private beach and comfortable bedding.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this property. Everything we needed was available for our use (beach stuff, kitchen stocked, etc). The porches were our favorite part of the house and we utilized them a ton. Rooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group and we also loved the fire pit. It was so nice to have firewood available for us to use!! The beach was very nice and is a great place to catch a beautiful sunset. The walk to the beach was fun and beautiful but more difficult than we anticipated (lots of up and down with stairs/hills) but everyone in our group was able to do the walk. I’d definitely recommend this house and would stay here again.

Had to come up for a funeral and needed a place to stay for my family and my sister’s. This property was great and accomodated the 8 of us very comfortably. Clean, well appointed and in a very convenient area for us. Definately would rent it again or recommend it to others.

Eight of us stayed at the house for New Year's weekend and it was perfect (other than the fireplace not working). It had everything we needed to cook dinner in one night and was an easy walk to the beach. The space was also perfect for 4 couples. Would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The home was nicely decorated and all of the bedrooms were very comfortable. We also had easy access to a beautiful beach. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our time together at this home that is located in a wooded, peaceful setting. There was a slight mix-up with the cleaning crew on their schedule ahead of our arrival. Peter was able to rectify this quickly when we contacted him and without asking even refunded the cleaning fee. Things happen and it did not detract from our stay and we appreciate how it was handled. The home had plenty of space for our extended family of six. We had plenty of towels and amenities for our stay. This is a great place to stay with many things to do in the area. Having spent time in several other places along the Michigan coastline in past we found this area to be more laid back and peaceful.

Despite being very hot, we all enjoyed the relaxing setting of the house and nearness to the beach so we could cool off. Peter was very attentive to our needs even texting me ahead of the heat to tell me how to set the thermostat to keep the home cool. Everything was just great. Thanks Peter!

This was our third year to stay at the cottage. It has plenty of room for our extended family to spread out. Peter is a great host.

The house was terrific, perfectly clean and with everything needed...comfortable beds, bathroom spaces for everyone, plenty of space for lounging and meals, a grill and firepit. The beach was a little bit of a walk but was georgeous and we had it to ourselves. Peter was available to answer questions ahead of our trip that helped in our planning and would have been available during our trip should we have needed him. We couldn't have been happier.

Lots of things going for this house located within walking distance of a quiet, beautiful beach in MI. The house offers two areas for gathering so plenty of room for people to spread out and pursue different activities, watch tv, play games on the back porch, listen to music in the kitchen/family room etc.
4 Bathrooms and we never had any problem accessing hot water for showers. Kitchen provided us with everything we needed to prepare several meals for the whole group of 12. Also utilized the outdoor grill - it was the only thing that really needed attention but after a little cleanup it worked well.
Walking down to the beach was fun - I do feel there could be clearer instructions on what path to take to the beach. On our first foray we walked up the street driveway right in front of someone's private residence. Also, the path to the beach does require you can walk over uneven surfaces and go up and down multiple steps. No problem for us but could be a challenge for some.
Only other needs to improve would be a suggestion for a few more bath towels. We had a bare minimum and with going to the beach one or two times a day we could have used a few more.

This was our third time staying at this beautiful Lake Michigan cottage, and it was just as wonderful as always. The house is lovely and well-appointed, the private community beach can't be beat, and the accomodations are superb. Our kids love the loft area, and the adults love the rocking chairs on the front porch and evenings by the fire. Outstanding communication with the host as well. What a great place and a wonderful vacation spot! Thank you!!

This was our second time staying at this house and it was just as much fun as the first. Great location, great property, great beach (although it was a little chilly to be on the beach in late May). Owners are fantastic and responsive and house has everything you need for a memorable weekend getaway. Make sure you try the Swedish bakery that’s down the road (amazing bread and pastries) and Infusco Coffee that’s in Sawyer. We are looking forward to making this an annual trip.

We were there with our 2 adult children and their spouses plus an almost 2 year old. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom - even the toddler had his own bedroom and bathroom and there were beds we didn’t even use! Comfortable beds and pillows, a well appointed kitchen, comfortable couches, a huge screened porch, and a 5 rocking chair front porch. We were pleasantly surprised by all the beach gear and kids toys available in the porch closet and beach chairs are hanging from a rack right by the beach. The walk to the beach is down a sandy, tree lined road up a driveway and into a wooded path. Every trek to and from the beach was an adventure for our toddler as he walked along the path. The beach is wonderful; wasn’t crowded and the water is different from day to day - sometimes calm and sometimes wavy. The Harbert Community Park, The Swedish Bakery and 2 great restaurants are within walking distance. Our kids are already talking about returning next summer.

VRBO messed up our reservations
We were headed to the home & contacted the host for the entrance code. He said different people were booked. It had been double booked!! The owner was super nice & after much juggling found us a place to stay. AND he paid for it. We will get a full refund from the original booking. For 2 hours we were in limbo, the replacement house wasn’t as nice and VRBO hasn’t contacted us until this survey.

Charming Home in the Woods
We had a great experience and were very pleased with the accommodations. It’s a wonderful new home with plenty of living space inside and out nestled into a quaint wooded area close to the lake in Harbart, MI. The kitchen and dining area are set up perfectly for a large group and allows for a healthy family gathering. We were pleasantly surprised to find the home festively decorated for the Christmas season. The fireplace in the living room made it cozy to capture the holiday mood. The owners are clearly thoughtful about planning for the needs of their guests and the place is ideal for a large family. I would sincerely to recommend staying here.

Perfect New Years Get-Away!
We had a group of 9-ranging from a 90 year old grandma to 4 adult kids in their 20's and it was perfect! We spent time hiking on the beach (which was a 5 minute walk away), watching football, making dinners and exploring the nearby towns. The house is adorable with comfy beds and the kitchen well stocked with cooking gear. We will defintely come back!

Fabulous Stay in a Great House
Seven of us stayed here for the Apple Cider Century weekend. The house is fabulous, location perfect, and communicating with the owner was efficient and productive. We enjoyed all the living spaces, especially the huge screened-in porch. Our stroll to the almost private beach was and easy and fun trek up and down the ravines through the woods. Great spot. Highly recommend!

Great vacation house! Lots of room to socialize inside and 2 huge porches outside. Had everything our family needed and the property is very new.
We had great weather and spent time at the beach every day. It’s a little bit of a walk from the house but everyone was able to make it.

Family Time
We had wonderful family time at this beautiful very well appointed home. It was perfect for our three adult children and their kids. We especially found the large screened in porch with ceiling fans and ample seating for dinners particularly relaxing and peaceful. All of the amenities at the home are top-notch. The walk to the beach was a little longer than we expected however once we got there, it was a spectacular private beach! Beach chairs were provided by the homeowner at the top of the stairs leading down to the beach which was really helpful.

Great Time Revisited
We had another wonderful stay at this “just right” home. Everything was clean and in tip top shape just like last time. An added bonus was the expanded beach and the newly built stairs leading down to it. We only ate out twice because the kitchen/dining area/family room was so inviting. Having 4 full baths is one of the best features of the house…no one has to share. Can’t wait for next year!

Family Beach Vacation
This was a great place for my husband and I, our 2 daughters and their husbands as well as our 3 and 4 year old grandchildren. The house was well suited for all of us. We especially enjoyed sitting in the screened porch for lunch and dinner. The walk to the beach is about 10 -15 minutes with small children. The beach was beautiful! We appreciated that the owners provided beach chairs and that we could leave our floats and sand toys at the beach each day. The outdoor shower was wonderful for getting all the sand off our grandchildren after a fun day at the beach. We would definitely stay here again!

Never Wanted to Leave!
This place has it all! The house is superb! All the generous bathroom and sleeping options were top notch. The layout allows for ease of movement for even our 3 families with 11 people total. The front porch itself is worth the price! I can not say enough good things about the private beach experience! It was clean and many times I had a full mile of beach to myself in the morning. The neighbors were warm and friendly. One kind woman even spent time one afternoon and taught my daughter how to paddle board. The location means you never have to drive very far for more food and fun!
The men did a charter fishing boat event Monday morning and caught 13 HUGE fish...King Salmon even! If you dream of lake beach experience, you just won't find anything better. We didn't want to leave.

Perfect for our family
There were so many things to enjoy about this property: easy walking access to the private beach, 4 spacious attractive bathrooms, well-provisioned kitchen, comfortable beds, attractive decor, outside shower with warm water on side porch, screened back porch, rockers on the wide front porch, quiet neighborhood, etc. etc.... I hope we can return next year.

Second stay, still perfect!
We loved this property so much last year that we returned again! Perfect location for our two families to vacation together. The kids loved the loft area, and we had plenty of room to spread out. Amenities were great, loved the backyard, screened porch, and rocking chairs, and the neighborhood and private beach are top notch. Wonderful all around. Thanks again!

Highly Recommend
This home was an absolute gem! Extremely clean and comfortable. We had two other families join us and we had the best stay! Everything from the check in process, fully stocked closet of supplies if we needed it, to the easy checkout process! I would love to stay here again in the near future.

Awesome, clean, well equipped property
We were two families (3 adults 4 kids) traveling and had a great time at this property. It’s in a woodsy area a short walk from an amazing, pristine clean private beach. House is well stocked, super clean, and modern. Owners are incredibly responsive. There are even beach chairs for the property at the beach so no need to carry your own. The only thing I would say is trail to beach is not-wagonable. Steep path and lots of stairs. So if you’re bringing beach toys, inflatables, etc. it’s a bit of a pain on the first day (you can leave them in a shared area at private beach so you don’t need to bring every day)…. But well worth it for the beautiful beach. Great property… we all highly recommend.

In town for a wedding
This house was fabulous! Spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Loved the variety of sitting areas from the screened in porch to the front porch rockers. Wouldn’t change a thing and hope to rent again in the future!

Perfect getaway!
The property was in a gorgeous location. Loved the huge front porch with rocking chairs and the screened in porch in the rear. Home is beautiful with so many sleeping options and four very nice full baths. I will definitely stay again when in that part of Michigan.

New cottage. Great layout. Only thing lacking was TVs in bedrooms. Of course some may rate that as a positive. Owner was excellent.
