What an amazing place !!!
We ate at the farm for the duration of our stay the food is every bit as good as the previous reviews I had read.
David and Alyson are gracious hosts and make you feel right at home.
Our room was delightfully decorated and the facilities were great.
The outside space with the room was an extra special bonus
Would definately recommend
Nothing to dislike

We absolutely loved staying here and it was our favourite place in France.. It had so much character with so many extra touches. Like the complimentry handmade lavender soap, bottle of local cider and water in the room on our arrival. There is tea and coffee making facilities. We had the garden room which was beautiful and it had seating outside overlooking a beautiful garden. Alison and David were brillient hosts and gave us so much help and information. The breakfast was great with plenty to eat. We had an evening meal on one of the nights and it was delicious with plenty of freshly cooked food. It was perfectly situated to visit some of the WW2 memorial sites. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a place with character and charm.
Nothing. It was perfect and so peaceful.

We all had a wonderful stay with David and Alison. The breakfast was excellent with a fabulous selection of baked goods from the locality.
David gave us great tips of what to visit in the area.
4.8
Beautiful location, excellent gourmet food (David is a great cook), helpful owners accommodated by changing room due to health reasons (unable to climb steep stairs). You feel like you are with old friends here. English is the primary language for communication. A great starting point for exploring Normandy.
Everything was absolutely amazing.

The breakfast was excellent and the hosts were very helpful
The people in the bedroom directly above could be heard moving about

Simply put, the best hospitality experience I have ever had. One of those places you hate to tell about because you know it will change, but these people deserve it. Also, the evening meal was exceptional.

The location is superb and the structural and decorative conversion carried out by David and Alyson Asquith is tastefully and stylishly relaxing.
David is an highly experienced professional chef and his skill is self evident in everything he prepares . He is ably supported by his wife . Together they generate a convivial ,warm atmosphere. Guests savour wholesome Normandy cuisine ,accompanied by interesting wines.
The property is located in an area near Sainte-Mere- Eglise at the heart of the United States airborne invasion on D Day .David is a mine of well researched detailed information about the battle that took place that day and during the days that followed.
We had no complaints of any kind about the premises ,the Breakfasts and the Dinners.

The farm was absolutely adorable and Allison makes the room and entire property so warm and inviting (including hand made soap)! There is an amazing garden, and we had a beautiful patio with a private garden and sitting area. The farm has a rich history and was convenient to the D-Day sites. David is an incredible chef and the breakfasts were amazing. We chose to have him make us dinner both nights we were there (he varies the menu each night) and the food was the best we had on our two week journey through France. It was so good we had him also make a picnic lunch when we departed which we enjoyed in our next location. Highly recommend and we would return in a heartbeat!
Very minor thing but they did not provide shampoo in the shower - not a big deal since we had some of our own.

Our room was beautifully decorated and filled with so many lovely little touches that convey how much the BnB means to the proprietors. Their love for the property really shines through in every accent piece.
We were greeted with a bottle of local cider and some of Allison's homemade lavender soaps au gratis.
The room was absolutely spotless everywhere we looked, the bed was comfortable, no noise at night, and every morning we were greeted by smiles and a fabulous spread curated by David (he's a chef, so of course, we ate well!)
We had many friendly chats with other guests over breakfast and they all commented similar affection for the place. Many say it was their return visit.
David and Allison are absolute FAB hosts. They went out of their way to make sure I didn't feel too bothersome with my quite annoying dietary restrictions and their delish coffee over David's eggs was a perfect start every day of our stay.
Make sure to ask them in advance about their picnic baskets, dinner reservations, or local sights to see!!
We didn't know until after about a local Calvados tasting he could have set up - it will have to be for next time as I'm sure we will return!
Thank you to you both! You did a wonderful job with the property!
Nothing! We absolutely loved it!

The autentic atmosphere of the farm.
The extensive breakfast
The quality of the beds
all was ok.

Obviously a huge amount of thought had gone into the whole presentation, very impressive. Proprietors very welcoming and friendly.
Over-powerful scent in bedroom. Bath-towel could have been larger ! Mini-fridge in room would be useful.

Well, what can I say? Standards are high at the Old Farm of Amfreville. David and Alison spent years (I won't tell you how many) restoring the farm and they've done it superbly, with a great deal of attention to detail. But it's their friendly manner and the supeb cuisine that really make it special. That Utah Beach is within easy striking distance and that the farmhouse is very close to Fiere bridge & the parachutists' memorial are simply the icing on the cake. We are already booking to return next year.
Nothing.

The location is in the country but only a few miles from the nearest village, 5 minutes in the car.
Peaceful and tranquil, great seating area outdoors with umbrellas etc. Wonderful hosts proving a very personal and efficient service from the minute we arrived. David is a font of local knowledge and a great help in planning a day. He is also a wonderful chef and his dinners are a treat. 5* Restaurant quality without leaving home, have an extra bottle of wine and no worry about driving. Make sure you order at least one during your stay.
Breakfasts were plentiful with locally sourced products as well as home made and an ideal opportunity to discuss the days plans with David.
Alyson his wife has decorated the house with great flair which adds to the experience of staying with them making it a more personal stay. She cannot do enough to make you feel at home and very welcome including offering to let us share her comprehensive selection of thrillers etc.
An honesty bar with soft drinks and local wines and ciders.
We extended our stay and have already booked for next year, 2023.
Nothing, perfection achieved.

beautiful. historic. clean. location. peaceful.
the fox having his pick of hens meaning the girls are sadly unable to roam.

The room was large and spacious overlooking a pasture filled with cows. A good size bathroom with a soaking tub. The breakfast was good with eggs and waffles available. The location is excellent for visiting Sainte Mere-English and Utah beach areas. The owners are very knowledgeable about the area and shared insight on the battles around that area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..

the owners have put fabulous ideas and lots of work into creating this gem of a B and B. beautiful and comfortable. we truly felt like guests in their home. And Dave’s cooking deserves some attention from Michelin. don’t miss enjoying at least one of their very delicious dinners.

The owners where very nice and knowledgeable of the area, they made us feel like family and we couldn’t get back every evening for dinner. Dinner is a world class experience, the chef uses local ingredients and every item was a world class experience. We will 100% be back in the future.

This was our first experience of Bed and Breakfast as I would normally staff in hotels. I can honestly say the trip was exception, from the moment we arrived to departures the experience was amazing.
The evening meal is a must, fantastic food and overall a great experience.
I would highly recommend

A ten rating is not appropriate for the location. I am 78 years and have been traveling in Europe since 1961 and the is the BEST location I have ever stay at bar NONE. Our meals at were outstanding also. My supper the last night was more than outstanding since the owner is also the Chef for the property and a retired English Army Officer.

Yes, this is a beautiful B&B, perfectly located in the center of the Cotentin region (at 4 km from St-Mère-Église), peacefully quiet, very friendly, romantic and homely and so on… it all deserves the highest rating.
We have been to other excellent B&B’s before, but here they take the next step.
Because David is a stunning good cook. Really good. Chef!
We love good food and that’s one of the reasons why we come to Normandy. This evening we had David’s 4-course menu. We were served exquicit dishes of French cuisine. A feast!
We immediately booked again for the next 2 days, something we rarely do, because we enjoy to discover new places. But at this price and for THAT quality…..that is a bargain you cannot ignore.
The Old Farm of Amfreville is gastronomy with a very nice bedroom on top. With lovely hosts. A hidden gem.

All very clean and comfy. Great location too !
Nothing really !

This place is absolutely amazing. The old farm has so much charme and is so nicely renovated. The owners are the best, very friendly, welcoming and great cooks. They know a lot about the region and made some of the best recommendations of things to do and things to see. The breakfast was sooo good, we couldn’t stop eating. Most of it was fresh and homemade and you could taste it! We would highly recommend this place to everyone
I can’t think of anything we didn’t like

This was our second stay at the Old Farm, and it was just as lovely as we remember. We stayed in the garden room this time, which has an outdoor patio perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The included breakfast is a highlight, but make sure to book dinner (amazing!) or one of the other delicious food experiences (English tea, charcuterie, picnics, bbq, etc.) that they offer. David and Alyson are exceptional hosts who give great information about Normandy, history, things to do, etc. Normandy has so much more to offer than just DDay history, and we didn’t regret taking David’s advice to explore the west coast along the Rue de Caps. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Perfect. Highly recommend David's dinner menus. Creative and delicious.
David knows so much about the area and the historical facts surrounding WW2. Don't hesitate to ask!

Really homie place, with beautiful rooms and very green surroundings, lots of things to do, even close by beaches to swim, also try the amazing dinner they offer with very good price… definitely we will come back.

Alyson and David are doing a great job in Normandie!!! The place of 300 years old is really fantastic renovated and in the heart of the D-Day! Such a calm atmosphere, fresh food (breakfast and the 4 course dinner...absolutely delicious), cozy and lovely decoration of the room, very good tips from David for exploring the area...not to mention how much they are both so nice and friendly!!! We give 10 in all points and are definitely recommending to all our friends! :)
Nothing, everything exceeded expectations!
