Can't say enough about our stay at Bird Cottage. It was the best. The cabin is delightful and the views breathtaking. Would love to come back in the fall just to see the view when the trees are changing colors. We loved sitting out on the front porch and watching the birds. So many different varieties (and we're not even birdwatchers). We also saw deer, rabbits, squirrels, and even a raccoon who literally walked 15 feet from us when we were enjoying a fire in the firepit. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the two of us. Our pup loved long walks up the lane or around the vineyard. Doesn't get much better than Bird Cottage.

Such a comfortable house! We enjoyed the view, the quiet, the birds and the pool table. Would love to stay again sometime.

My husband and I stayed here with our small dog over a weekend. Unfortunately we were there on a particularly bitter cold and windy weekend, but despite that it was a wonderful time. The views are incredible, both on the drive there and at the cottage on the deck. Tons of bird feeders, complete with bird books and binoculars in the house, make it the perfect spot for those who appreciate nature. Our dog had the best time running around the property, we took a walk down by the vineyard at sunrise which was beautiful. Everything was impeccably clean, and there was plenty of everything we needed. We will definitely be back for another visit during a warmer time of year!

The cottage is lovely! The photos do not do this site credit. The cottage is clean and well-equipped, and the surrounding environment offers an unforgettable experience! I would recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable time in contact with nature.

The entire property was just as expected! The pictures are 100% accurate. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen is fully stocked, and the layout of the house is adorable/perfect. We were also so happy to see some snow during the New Years weekend. We had a blast sledding down the side of the property! Jolene was super helpful during the booking process and answered all of my questions and requests.

This remote cottage is lovely and I recommend it highly. The views are great and the sunrise is spectacular. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Just a great place to spend the weekend of our son's wedding in Galena.

Had a very nice stay at Bird Cottage. The house is clean and well stocked with some essentials. Master bed very comfortable. Bottle of wine upon arriving! Instructions and directions from the manager very clear and helpful. Views were wonderful from every window and on the deck. Even my 10-year-old Lab who gets anxious in new places was calm by the second day. Galena just a short 10-minute drive. Really enjoyed my stay at this peaceful cottage and would stay again.

Second time staying at Bird Cottage. So peaceful and the views are incredible. Outdoor area is fantastic and the pool table is a great bonus. Will be back again next year!

Such a peaceful and relaxing stay, that gets you away from the big city feeling, and appreciate all that a countryside provides, star gazing, bird watching, deer, cows, beautiful sunrises, wine from the vineyard, and evening campfire. If you are looking for a peaceful place to get away from your daily hustle this is the place for you.

4 adults from Chicago escaped the city - upon arrival at the end of a winding road we found ourselves surrounded by a beautiful countryside with soft rolling hills. The views and the sunrises were incredibly beautiful! The property was Located a 15-20 minute relaxing drive away from Galena. We enjoyed the home and look forward to returning in the future. It is a great escape from the hustle of Chicago.

Really enjoyed our stay. The views were incredible! Had a few issues getting connected to Wi-Fi. Talked with property manager she went above and beyond to get the issue resolved.

This property has a beautiful view, private location, and is within a short driving distance of downtown Galena and several wineries. I would highlight recommend it.

We love this property and have stayed multiple places. The kitchen is perfect for making your meals when not shopping in town. Beds are comfy. Couldn't use the fire pit due to weather but we loved sitting around it on our prior stay. Could use new towels and linens for the pull out sofa. Also, there is a hair dryer despite the listing saying they don't have one.

The house is beautiful & in a secluded location with rolling hills. It was a perfect spot to enjoy the views & disconnect from the outside world. We loved the pool table & did alot of bird watching. It's also a short drive to Galena! Will stay again! Thank you!

We booked the bird cottage in winter for a centralized place to stay. We knew we would be skiing at chestnut mountain but also wanted easy access to downtown Galena. The bird cottage was perfect. Super cute, secluded, and stocked to be our perfect landing pad. My teens loved the pool table and sledding down the vinyard hill. I loved the bird watching, sunrises, fire pit, many bird books, and the tiny trail on the property. The beds and bedding were SO comfy and having 2 separate living spaces was a plus. 10 minutes go Galena and 15 from the ski hill. Perfect distances. The property management was very attentive when one small detail arose. I am already planning to come back with a girls trip in the spring.

I just love this property! This is my second stay in 3 months. I came back in the summer and wanted to get back in the fall before shotgun season started. This is one of my happy places in Galena. It’s so peaceful and quiet and I come here to just have my off the leash time to relax from my high stress careeer and being a mom of 4. The house is always super clean and well-appointed. The view is beyond compare. I love the solitude. I love the fire pit. The bed is actually very comfortable. The wi-fi always works. The TV always works. The birds in the seasons are lovely to watch. The stars at night are great to view and I bring my telescope because I am a nerd like that. I’ll keep coming back! My only critique is that the smoke detectors are super super super sensitive here if you decide to cook which I always do so just be ready for that and keep the fans on and windows open.

This place was the perfect for the long weekend getaway. Tastefully decorated and the only noise was the cows in the morning and evening. The sunrise and sunsets couldn’t have been better over the vineyard.

This is our third visit to this property. We love it! Comfy, clean, adorable! Highly recommended!

Very, very clean, organized home, nicely decorated. Beautiful views, comfortable beds. We stayed only a few days, wish is could have been longer. Would definitely stay again.
