My family and I stayed here for a week. Three kids aged 11-16 and our dog. We had a wonderful time! The home is in a perfect location, especially if you are doing lots of day trips. We did Buffalo, Six Flags Darien Lake, Toronto, and several trips to Niagara in NY and Canada. Devil's Hole park is beautiful but those stairs are no joke on the legs! Fort Niagara State Park right next door was perfect for long walks with the dog in the early morning and evening. The home was clean, well stocked, and had a cozy charm that made it feel familiar. The kids all had space to lounge around and play video games and watch tv when we weren't adventuring. Sandy was lovely to work with and her suggestions for food, ice cream and local activities were perfect. The other neighbors were quiet and nice and my kids adored a super sweet neighborhood cat they befriended. 10/10 would stay again and recommend to a friend.

Sandy was a great host, quick to respond and even bought us some bakery for when we arrived.
House is exactly as described and is a great value for the price. You can see the lake from the front door and there is a bench close by to sit down and enjoy the view.
I plan on staying here again

Quiet and comfortable, I highly recommend staying at the quiet house on the lake. Close enough to the Canadian border without actually being in a big hotel. 30 to 40 minutes away.

We enjoyed our visit to the Fort Niagara area on our fishing trip. Everything about the property fit well for us, spending most of the day on the water and evenings at the house. Communication was easy and, although there were no issues, I feel Sandy was readily available to assist if there was. Won’t hesitate to rebook next trip!

Sandy’s house was great for our young family of five! The walk to the beach was a perfect relaxing and easy place to explore for our kids and the space easily accommodated us. It was an easy jaunt down to Niagara Falls and Sandy had lots of good recommendations for local restaurants. Sandy was super helpful when we had questions and we had a great stay!

Owner has done a great job with the decor, making it a cute, comfortable place to stay. Beds are super comfortable. Furniture in the living room area is very cozy (more chairs and a rug have been added since the listing photos) for relaxing and watching tv. It's an older home but well kept and very, very clean. Owner Sandy was great with communication and offering helpful suggestions of local restaurants and activities.

Sandy is a wonderful host and her house is perfect for a vacation, fishing trip or getaway weekend. The house is 50 yards from Lake Ontario and one minute from the Fort Niagara park. It is also a short drive to Niagara Falls. We will definitely be back next year

We loved our stay at this sweet and comfortable home on the shores of Lake Ontario. As soon as we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. From the local decor to the pastry left for us to enjoy, every area of this home spoke to the comfort of guests. Sandy was such an accommodating host. The house had everything we needed for us and our little dogs. There’s a small fenced area that was perfect for our pets. There was also a jar of treats and a water bowl waiting for them. The location, a half block from Lake Ontario and close to Old Fort Niagara, was spectacular. We took so many walks to enjoy the beautiful view. The house is older, but we appreciate the history of such homes. We look for cleanliness and comfort and both were over the top. We look forward to a return visit.

Sandy’s property was perfect for our family get away! The house is stocked with everything you would need and don’t normally remember. Extra kitchen sponges, cleaning products, travel sized bathroom products, plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, extra bedding, etc. when traveling with kids it’s nice to not have to worry about that kind of stuff. She was more than prepared for our dogs as well with bowls, clean up bags and treats.
The location is perfect with a private lake access just down a short path behind the house. My kids had so much fun just splashing around and collecting rocks. Close to Niagara Falls, old fort Niagara and lots of other cool places
Sandy made herself very accessible as well. Responded quickly to text the whole time which I really appreciated.
We will definitely be returning for our next long weekend away.

Sandy was extremely responsive and helpful. The perfect hostess! The neighborhood was quiet and beds comfortable. We enjoyed our Niagara Falls Getaway with friends and had a very relaxing week. All communication was prompt and any questions immediately answered. Would definitely recommend! The Lake House is close to everything you may want to do in Niagara Falls, yet located near the small city of Youngstown on the Lake to provide a peaceful and quiet retreat. The neighbors were friendly and the setting beautiful. Loved our time here.

My husband and I stayed at this property for a week and it was great for us, Like all the other good reviews, it was clean and a great place to stay for day trips because the access to the small neighborhood was so quick and easy. My husband counted 75 steps from the front door to the perfect bench to view Lake Ontario. Sandy was a great host and left some wonderful treats for us. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom and the bed was very comfortable and sheets were very soft. The living room has a big sectional that was very comfortable and spacious. I also enjoyed the mix of art displayed in the home. Sandy left a folder with many recommendations for restaurants that were spot on. We hope to come back some day and would definitely stay at this house again. Thanks Sandy for sharing your little lake house!

We were able to take a lot of day trips from the house; the American Falls, Canadian Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Buffalo and City of Toronto. The tour of Fort Niagara was pretty awesome as well and the walk to the Fort in the morning through the woods with the dog was nice. The location of the house made it easy for us to do a lot and enjoy the time away. The neighbors were very nice and one provided a lot of super helpful tips for our trip. The host was very nice to leave us some cake and wine on the first day with treats for our pup. The house was clean; just needs some TLC and as someone mentioned in a recent review, the doorways were a bit short for my husband and son. Overall, the location of the house that made it possible to do day trips was really the best part of this rental.

We stayed with our 3 kids (ages 8-12) and our dog. Sandy's home was perfect. As other reviewers have mentioned, the ceilings are low and the property is a little older, but it was very clean and beautifully updated. No issues with the internet. 1 minute walk to Lake Ontario which our kids enjoyed daily. Please know there is a natural rock staircase down to the water which is going to be challenging to navigate with smaller children or anyone with mobility issues. Strongly recommend bringing some water shoes if you plan to go to the beach as it's all rocks. If you don't want to go down to the water, Sandy has installed a bench at the end of the road for you to sit and enjoy. Sunsets were stunning. Beach is private and the water is beautiful. It's extremely quiet here and restful. Close distance to Lewiston for groceries or restaurants. About 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. Definitely recommend visiting Fort Niagara. Host was amazing! All the small amenities were provided and Sandy's communication and kindness were second to none. We plan on staying here again when we come back to visit the Niagara area. Thanks Sandy!

This was out first time in upstate New York, and I am SO GLAD we decided to stay at this property away from the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls. It was quiet and absolutely beautiful! We spent time every day on the grassy area with the bench looking out over the water that was just steps away. We brought our bikes, so we explored the trail that takes you into Old Fort Niagara State Park where we swam and searched for sea glass. The location was very close to access the Falls and to cross over into Canada, which we did multiple times while we were there. The house is a rustic lake cottage with some of the settling you would find in a home of that age, but it was very clean and spacious and we had EVERYTHING we needed for our 7 night stay. We discovered a fresh coffee cake waiting for us (which we ate immediately, haha) and Sandy was always available if we had a question about the house or the area. Both of my kids (ages 12 and 13) were sad to leave!

Peaceful, great walks, close to Fort Niagara and beaches. Stylish furnishings, very comfortable, interesting art. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Clean, plenty of room, 2 full baths a huge plus. Not cluttered with too many trinkets and other useless decorations that so many hosts inexplicably think guests want. Other than it not being ideal for people over 6 feet tall (had to duck in some of the doorways) it is great and Sandy was perhaps the best host we’ve ever had. Couldn’t be more accommodating. And she gifted an AMAZING danish cake!

We had such a great time renting here, and Sandy was an incredible host. She was easy to reach and even let us check in early. She was so welcoming and brought us a coffee cake our first day, which was just so kind.
The house was also wonderful. It was right on Lake Ontario - you could even see Toronto on the clear days and evenings. It was close to Buffalo and Niagara but far out enough that we were away from the busier areas, and that's exactly what we wanted. Lewiston is a great little town for shopping and food and was within a 15 minutes drive. Fort Niagara is great to explore and was within walking distance.
The house itself is a little older, but very well maintained. The bedrooms on the bottom floor are a little small, but they were still great for us. The biggest issue was that the doors to the bottom floor bedrooms were folding accordion doors, so noise from the kitchen and living room could come through. The upstairs bedroom was a loft, so noise could filter up there very easily as well. So if you have some noisy people in the group, or you go to bed at different times, then this could be an issue for you.
Overall, we had a great experience. We only had to worry about bringing our clothes and food, since everything was furnished including linens and pillows, so it was great to not have to worry about packing a bunch of stuff. And Sandy is the best host I've ever rented from.
I hope one day to get to rent from here again!

Our visit to the "Falls" was only enhanced by the wonderful stay at the cottage. It was convenient to everything1 A short drive down the scenic byway to Niagara and close to the quaint historic town of Lewiston. After a day of sightseeing relaxing by the lake was wonderful. Our family had a wonderful time.

The house was great for a dog. Nice path to walk the dog on everyday to Fort Niagara. Great exercise for him before we left him at the house and went to see Niagara Falls. Close to everything but away from all the tourist of the falls. Short walk to the public bench to look at Lake Ontario. You can see Toronto across the lake. Beautiful sunsets seeing the sun shine on the buildings in Toronto..

Sandy was kind, easy to communicate with. Even left some treats for our dog! The house is in such a great location for everything you want to do in Niagara. We really did it all and had a quiet, roomy place for a family of 5 plus a dog to relax. Kitchen had all we needed and wr cooked most meals. The house is old, much to the history of the area and I highly recommend visiting Fort Niagara. The bench close by allows for a beautiful sunrise view and there is another bench just a short block away for sunset views on the water. We watched every night. We had no issues at all and enjoyed our stay greatly. The house could be updated in the future, but we not no issues with how everything worked and we greatly enjoyed our week long stay. I would recommend this spot. I could easily walk my dog for long walks every morning into the state park. We spent an afternoon at the pool in the state park too. There is a fee, when we went isn't was $3 per person. The water is chilly, but was perfect on the hot day we were there.

Awesome Host and Lake House
We had a wonderful time at this lake house! The house was very clean and just as described. Sandy, the host could not have been better. She was very helpful and so sweet. I enjoyed texting her and sharing pictures with her. She left us some goodies upon our arrival and even let us check in early. Everything we needed was there and she was the best! Thanks again, Sandy.

Relax by the lake
Sandy was a wonderful host. House was very clean and she left every amenity you could think of - from toilet paper to laundry soap to shampoo. She even left a welcoming coffee cake. Lake was literally right down the road and it was so nice to watch the sun rise and set. Great place to stay.

Family stay
Sandy was very accommodating and easy to get in touch with. She even left a coffe cake from a local bakery to enjoy. I have a 2 yr old and asked if she could remove anything breakable and she did! That made my stay more relaxing. Side note- I'm from TX and most restaurants are open all day. In this area a lot of restaurants close from 2-5pm and for the night at 8 or 9pm.

Great location, even in the middle of winter!
My family and I were looking for a vacation over a long weekend and found this property which sits right near Lake Ontario.
Though we traveled in the middle of winter and got our fair share of snow, there was nothing but warmth from the house and Sandy. She went out of her way to ensure we had all we needed and even brought us a shovel to help us get out the day we left.
The house is well maintained, and provided everything we needed for family; warmth, internet, fresh towels, and a working kitchen which we utilized each day and night!
Sandy is a wonderful host and if you're looking for a place to stay near the sites and sound (like the wind blowing off the lake) then I highly recommend it!

Awesome House by Lake Ontario
My family and I really enjoyed staying in this cute homey house by the lake. Our host was very easy to communicate with and she even left a tasty welcoming coffee cake for us. She walked our dog for us while we were gone all day. Very comfortable beds and lots of room to spread out. Property is conveniently located by many parks and activities that we enjoyed. Thank you Sandy for your hospitality!

Quiet Retreat by the Lake
Just what the whole family needed. This felt like a home away from home. So cozy with all the comforts of home. The coffee cake was a nice touch after our long car ride too. Thank you for that Sandy! xo Just a few steps away was lake Ontario. Witnessed some beautiful sunsets I'll never forget. Walked down to the water and collected a few pretty rocks. Enjoyed the Falls and the trails and the eateries in the area. The people were so kind and laid back here. Just loved it. So much to do and see. We'll definitely be returning! Thank you for your hospitality Sandy! You're the best! Love and Light from The Munson Family :)

Cute house in a great location
Cute little beach house in a very quiet, seemingly safe neighborhood. It is just steps from a scenic bench area overlooking the lake, and the cliff trail takes you down for lake access. Or it's only a few minutes to walk over to Fort Niagara State Park which has a great beach and a pool. (Or you can drive over quickly, but it's a small gate charge for vehicles.) It was super convenient to Fort Niagara itself and a reasonable, easy drive down to the craziness at the falls. We appreciated being to go into the tourist chaos when we wanted, and then to come back out to the super quiet neighborhood or the artsy nearby town of Lewiston with its many nice eating options. There is also a great coffee shop in Youngstown, only about a 3 minute drive from the house. The house itself was probably the most well stocked vacation rental we've ever visited. There were a hundred little touches and pretty much all the comforts of home. The only thing we needed to bring was food (and even that, there was a welcome treat when we arrived!). The owner was fantastic at communications and gave us a lot of local information and tips that did add more fun to our stay. The only thing I can think of as any sort of caution is that we had an 18-month-old with us, and the house is decorated with nice stuff. So we had to work to keep the baby out of inappropriate stuff. But it was fun for the rest of us to see all the cool beachy stuff. :)

Perfect week away with teenage daughters
Nice house on Lake Ontario. Spent a week with my 2 teenagers and dog. Plenty of space so the girls each got their own room. Small neighborhood to walk the dog and look at the lake. Quiet area in easy driving distance to Niagara attractions. Walking over to Goat island is definitely worth it. The lights at the falls are beautiful (but crowded when we were there). We also really enjoyed Fort Niagara. I would definitely recommend spending time at Old Fort Niagara for the history then go to the state park. The dog splashed around in the water and there are hiking trails. There is also a big pool. Bring your own chairs to the pool area.
