Electrical fire in the downstairs bedroom the second day we were there. We had no power in that bedroom or the outside porch light for the remainder of our stay. Very disappointing and inconvenient.

This place is stunning. Honestly. It’s a dream. 99% of my complaint is regarding the property management company. A small bit is how you get the feeling in this home that either 1) someone who couldn’t afford to buy it it is now renting it out for money; or 2) they bought this only to rent out for income so they filled it with cheap towels and linens because they don’t care.

We booked a stay of 4 days and 3 nights at this location for our wedding. It was booked a couple months in advance. What a find. How was it still available? I have no idea but what a bride and grooms DREAM! Of course it would also be the venue because of the phenomenal view and no wedding guests (we eloped). Who wouldn’t want this place to get married at! In Mendocino County, it is very difficult to find a wedding-worthy property to book with only 2 months notice. But almost impossible to find ANYWHERE within a week of your wedding day. Mendocino is beautiful, but it’s very small, and the rental properties fill up quickly. 6 days before our wedding date (no that’s not a typo—6 days) Vacasa called us and said that they had to cancel our stay due to a labor shortage. All but 1 day and 1 night. There were people staying before and after us and they needed time to clean the home. I understand there being a labor shortage but 1) this was the first we had heard about it, let alone that even being a possibility; 2) 6 days before our wedding?!! Are you serious?!!; and 3) they weren’t even going to give us an early check in/late checkout. We had to ask for it and they first said no until we pushed it. We asked so many questions: “we know and can hire a professional cleaner, can they do that?” No? Ok. “Well what about altering the stays before and after us in addition to altering our stay. That way everyone’s is a little shorter but basically our entire stay isn’t cancelled?” No. Cool. On top of that here are some smaller complaints: 1. the bath towels are like dollar store cheap. They don’t absorb water and they leave fuzz all over your body. 2. They have a ring surveillance camera which we weren’t notified about.
