The bedrooms were very small, too small to be considered bedrooms. Beds and furniture were uncomfortable. You cannot move around the beds. Air conditioning is very loud.

The cottage has a fantastic location! But it’s very small and I would not have more than 3 people. It worked fine for us as we had another larger house so we just slept here. The stocking of kitchen items is very limited and many items needed some maintenance but we still loved the location, beach access ! If you want old and vintage this would be a great place to stay.

We were not expecting much from this property, just easy access to the beach, a deck or porch with an ocean view, and a comfortable place to have our meals and sleep as the property was described in the VRBO listing. Both the pictures and the listing accurately described the property at the time the pictures were taken. The beach is wide and absolutely beautiful and the easy access was the prime reason for selecting this property. Actually the beach access was acceptable after we shovelled about a ton of sand off of the steps. The railing along the beach access which appears to be in fine condition in the photos has seen it better days and is close to falling down in places. The photos also accurately show a lovely view of the beach and the ocean, unfortunately from our side of the duplex the view is a sand dune. I want go into a lot of detail about the inside of the property but will list items that need attention. The kitchen was ok, adequately supplied and functional for a beach rental. The washer/dryer did not work at first but we found the circuit breaker box where it was turned off. There is no Dead Bolt Lock or chain lock on the entrance door, entrance could be easily obtained using a credit card. There is no Thermostat for temperature control anywhere to be found. Our first night was very cold. Myers sent someone the next day to turn on the heat and it was warm after that, part of the time both the heat and the window A/C units were running at the same time. The property was not adequately cleaned but I can’t describe it as dirty. The air return in the sitting area was filthy. The room with the queen bed requires the person sleeping on the wall side to walk sideways to get in bed and the AC cord is stretched under the bed across the floor. A trip hazard but it would be difficult to fall anywhere but onto the bed. We were unable to wash sand off when returning from beach as water had been turned off. Myers sent someone to turn in on and found the pipe had frozen and burst. In summary: We were very uncomfortable and decided to leave early. In my opinion the property is poorly maintained and overpriced. Myers was very cooperative and pleasant to deal with; we spoke to them on Wednesday to explain why we would be leaving Thursday morning. She apologized and explained that we were the first to rent the property this year and said they would issue a partial credit to our card. There has been none as of this date.

it really needed to be cleaned! had to launder the mattress cover - visibly stained! mold on shower curtain liner :( . owners should look into replacing living room furniture. beds were very comfy! would rent again, but would prefer it be clean. especially since I paid a steep cleaning fee.

When we arrived for our stay we were beyond excited. We had our dogs with us and were right on the beach. The location was perfect. The second night we were there, an outlet started sparking. The fire department needed to stabilize part of the electric which meant we lost access to the fridge for the night. This happened at 11pm and the realtor company responded immediately. They reimbursed us for the food that went bad and an electrician was there right at 8am the next day. The property itself could use some updates. There was a part of the floor that was boarded and covered with rug and the outside lighting didn’t work. We also found a clear retainer that did not belong to us on the floor. However, the property location was perfect and it was a great experience.

Small & cozy with comfy beds. Some renovations with a bachelor pad feel. The essential kitchen supplies were provided and everything was clean.

The price & location are excellent! South end of Topsail is perfect for families and laid back lifestyle. This property is rough... The keybox didn't work, the furniture is really uncomfortable (cute though). Not very secure so bugs got in. AC was good in 2 rooms, but not in queen size room. Washer & dryer worked great. There was unidentified stains on shower curtain. There is missing flooring in the kitchen. And busted lamp. But for just hanging on the beach, it worked for me. Next time I'll look for a better rated beachfront rental.

Great for small family. Beachfront with kids is key with all the gear. Water and beach were pristine.

There really needs to be a shop vac so the renter can vacuum the sand and dog hair - the broom and dust pan just don't cut it. The counter cannot be cleaned effectively as the grout is uneven and missing in places. The plus is being directly on the beach and being able to bring the fur babies - if that's your need, want, desire, and 2 beds is enough - go for it!

As the previous review stated, communications with the rental agency were not the best. Phone call not returned or acknowledged, email asking questions about check-in was responded to the day after I had checked in. The listing says that it has two small bedrooms, and small is quite accurate. Be sure to bring your own TP, there wasn’t a bit of it in the place when we arrived. Overall, the place just needs a little TLC and it really could be so much more comfortable.

Upon arrival we were surprised that the view was completely blocked from the porch. Walking through the unfinished garage to get to the stairs was not a good feeling. The refrigerator was in need of replacement and we dealt with buying ice and using coolers for the five nights. There are no fans in the bedrooms. The bathroom sink was clogged. The outside shower was broken. The coffee maker was broken. We were offered our money back but was 6 hours away from home and tried to make the best of it. Some things were repaired during our stay but that in itself is an inconvenience. We had to wait 3 days for a coffee maker. We are still waiting on a partial refund that was promised . Also the steps going down to the beach were completely covered making getting down to beach dangerous.

We have stayed at every other beach in NC but never Topsail. Now it's our new favorite. Affordable beachfront cottage with no worries about parking or walking from a mile away. The cottage has everything you need to relax and enjoy the beach. It's also very convenient to shops and grocery store. We look forward to our return soon.

This property needs LOT's of help and repair. First, communications with the property management company was not the best. I tried to extend my stay by one day and had asked through the VRBO site for nearly 18 days with no response. I went as far as to contact VRBO to ask if they can please contact the manager. To be fair, we had just entered the realm of COVID and everyone was working at home like moles. So, I will give them a pass on poor communications. Next, the overall condition of the property bordered between awful and unacceptable. Refrigerator drawers and glass was broken, windows cracked and filled with sand, electrical problems off and on from day 1. Additionally, there are broken drawers, greasy food leftovers in the oven slider, tub water never drained and I pulled handfuls of hair out of the tub drain, and the front porch leaked everywhere under the cover so it was impossible to keep anything dry on rainy days. There were just so many issues with had that it wasn't the best stay. At this price point and the size of the unit, shop around Top Sail a bit and you can find something much bigger and better for a comparable price point. Good Luck

Overall, a great little cottage. Oceanfront was great. Happy to have a washer and dryer. Bedrooms are tight, so if you like to spread your items out it's tough. Pots and pans lacking and not all very clean. Due to construction, we found several nails and screws in the driveway but just had to be watchful. We had a great week.

This was a great place to stay- we were looking for a quiet place on the beach so my wife and I could have a relaxing week. It is a small, cozy place, perfect for 2. Check in was easy, place was clean and well kept. Our only issue was we arrived during "Corona Week"! All eat in restaurants were closed. We did do some carryout, but mostly fixed our own meals. The best part: we had the entire beach almost to ourselves! Yes we would stay here again.

We had a really nice long weekend here. House is certainly no frills but clean and cozy. The location is perfect.

Excellent location for this place! Cute cottage with all of the necessities you need away from home. Short walk across the walkway and down a few steps and we were on the beach! We practically had the beach to ourselves everyday. We rented linens, bath towels and beach chairs/umbrella from Sweet Dreams Linens and Rentals, as suggested by Myers Rentals. We will definitely be back!

Very easy to get everything done,would stay again

My family had a nice stay. The property is directly on the beach and had a nice deck with views. Beds were comfortable, appliances worked well. A/C could of worked a little better but we were outside most of the time anyway. Little shops, putt putt, and the pier were in walking distance. Great beach!

Cozy little pet friendly cottage that has all the essentials. The path leading up to the house was unfortunately torn up so you had to ne very careful, but I believe that might be from the hurricane and will be fixed when the rest of construction is completed. Other then that...perfect. Has everything you need and my pup loved it!!
