The cabin is encased in trees, which makes it very dark. The screen porch was dirty, full of spiders, and unusable. It was also full of the homeowners stuff. The living room, dining room, and kitchen were not only crawling with daddy-long-leg spiders, but also had mice running under the furniture, along the kitchen counters, and inside the kitchen cabinets. There was no safe place to store food. The fridge door didn't stay closed. There was a wasp nest along the path to the beach. On the other hand, it had a wonderful bathroom with a large shower, a washer, dryer and dishwasher, and a lovely stone fire pit by the house with a view of the water. The bedrooms did not have the spider or mouse issue, which was a huge blessing, and the beds were very comfortable. We would have enjoyed it more without the spiders and the mice and if the screen porch was clean and usable.

This property is fabulously situated to include two gorgeous lakeside sitting areas, a small beach, and a small dock. The canoe and kayaks were in great shape and facilitated several inspiring paddles across the lake, including accompaniment by loons. Beautiful hiking trails involving a convenient range in distance/ exertion were within striking distance. Cabin was well equipped with all appliances, kitchen wares, and very adequate heating sources.
Note: there is a loft with queen bed which we did not use and thought it felt unsafe.

This rental was perfect for our needs--a classic Maine camp in an amazing location on a beautiful lake, excellent privacy even though other camps are nearby, and easy and quick communication when needed. This is a great place to unwind, enjoy beautiful views, swim, sit around a fire, etc. It's also dog friendly in terms of privacy and natural boundaries that allow dogs and owners to relax.
The cabin was perfect for us as well--a good kitchen, great living-room seating area with excellent wood stove and comfortable seating, comfortable bed, great linens (from the optional linen service), good bathroom. If this is rustic, then it's rustic deluxe in a very comfortable, homey way.
We also enjoyed seeing and hearing loons, and there are amazing carpets of various mosses underneath the pines. Beautiful, quiet, peaceful--and still near Oquossoc and Rangely if you need supplies, fishing guides, or community activities.
We had zero cell service there, but there is a landline if you needed it. Also, there is good internet, which is a nice service (especially since it helped to plan around quite a bit of rain during our stay).

I love Loon Landing. It was my 4th time here and it's still just what we want. It is perfect for us and our dogs. Can't beat having 2 swimming areas, amazing views, and the best firepit!

Cabin was great. Clean, a lot larger than the photos made it out to be, and the piece of property it is on is absolutely beautiful. Also, had kayaks / canoes we could use - thanks! Only one piece of feedback. I'd suggest a few more interior lights as it could get pretty dim in there.

Phenomenal property!
This location is a doggie and doggie owner paradise! We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy this camp offers. While it is a rustic camp, the location on a private peninsula with multiple options for enjoying the lake more than makes up for the lack of "fanciness". We would definitely stay here again.

LOVE Loon Landing!!
I love this place (where's a heart emoji when you need one)! The property is so amazing!! There are so few camps left in NE and this one just brings back memories of my childhood. It might be too rustic for some (so keep that in mind if you are reading this - it IS rustic), but it's perfect for us and our dogs. Love that there are two places to enjoy the water. So much room and I don't have to worry about neighbors. The fire pit at night is the best. So beautiful to sit there and listen to the loons and watch the fire.

The property contains a small peninsula, so you are pretty much surrounded by water (which was amazing for us). The cabin itself has everything you need, including a canoe and kayaks, which were not in the description. Fully furnished kitchen, lots of sleeping areas, electric heat/ac (plus a wood stove), books, dvd's, music CD's, board games, life jackets, grill, 2 separate outdoor fire areas (one right next to the beach). We wanted for nothing and are looking forward to come back. On the other hand the cabin is a bit old and could use a couple of fixes, but nothing that hampered our stay. Thank you so much!

Loon Landing
The property was great and very peaceful and private. The house was cozy. The only real issue was that the porch door was swollen and could not be shut tight or locked during our stay. Staff at M&F were helpful and courteous. Also we never did find the bathroom light switch. If there is one I would be curious to know where it is located.

Enjoyed the privacy and quiet. Was able to leave our dog off-leash nearly the whole time, a luxury. The cottage was comfortable and all the appliances worked and were easy to use. Used the linen service, will do that again, worked out great. Cottage was clean and ready to go when we arrived. Enjoyed the 45th Parallel in Oquossoc, will return for dinner there next year. Delighted to see the Rangeley bookstore was busy. Would like to come back to Loon Landing in 2020, maybe even for 2 weeks. Pleased to actually see and hear loons. Morton and Furbish were a pleasure to work with.

Love Loon Landing!
Such a great spot! This is the second time we've come up here and we just love it. Rustic and a lot of space. So beautiful and relaxing. Wish we were still there!

Amazing! Just Amazing!
What a beautiful spot! The pictures don't do it justice. It was perfect for a couple and their dogs. If you are looking for a rustic-ish (traditional lake camp charm with modern conveniences) cabin with a TON of privacy then you've found it. It was great not having to worry about if my dogs were bothering anyone since they spent their time exploring the woods surrounding the cabin. We couldn't have asked for a better time.
