We loved staying in Criterion Cottage (our third time). Sofas and beds are comfortable and it was such a relief to know we had electric blankets should we need them. The Mediterranean-style living area is light-filled and adorned with tasteful original artworks (a real bonus!). Together they set the scene for a real holiday. Location is brilliant with shops, beachfront and cafés an easy walk away. Love it!

A quaint little cottage close ta all amenities and a stroll away from the beach and other sites.Adequate space for our needs and great to have our 2 dogs stay with us inside.Patio could have been maintained and bbq unusable.Cleaners need to check all cupboards as there was mouldy food left in one.Main bedroom mattress /bed needs replacing.Overall an enjoyable stay.

Charming cottage in the best location in Robe. We have been visiting this cottage since the 1980’s and love it here. The changes we noticed this year.. the beds are no longer made on arrival and only the exact number of sheets of sheets are left out. I would prefer that the beds were made up. Also, we were only left one roll of toilet paper and no rubbish bags for the bins. The last time I stayed here the owner was self managing and we always felt like we were staying in a home away from home, so I wonder if these changes are by the real estate agent. The guest book has been removed and the folder with the history of the property is gone. In the downstairs bedroom we found lolly wrappers and dust. Think they need to upgrade the cleaner. Gas bbq bottle was not full so we chose not to replace it at our own expense and did not want to carry such a huge bottle.This is a boutique property and it would be good if these little touches were fixed. So many instructions on the fridge, but no mention of the water bottle in the kitchen, which can be refilled from the rainwater tank in Cornerstone Cottage (same owners).Delightful cottage but not reaching its full potential in my opinion.

House is in an excellent location, easy walk to all shops, beaches and restaurants and loved the fact that it was pet friendly.We found the courtyard a lovely sun trap on the cooler days.The house is great but could do with a really good spring clean and a little TLC to a few areas.

Property was in a great location. Bed was comfortable. Be aware that main bedroom is up a steep stairwell (with narrow treads) and bathroom is downstairs. Property was clean but requires some extra attention to shower screen and Items in the Kitchen (we had to wash crockery before using). Unfortunately there was also a mouse problem (which they were dealing with) so we did have a smell throughout our stay. (just opened doors and windows when home)

This was our 6th summer holiday staying in Criterion Cottage! It is unique with the main bedroom upstairs & another downstairs. The bathroom is perfect, washing machine close by, a very functional kitchen, dining area plus two living areas. An open fire is a great winter attraction & in the small courtyard there’s a Weber barbecue for self catering. We love the history, the comfortable accommodation & location to the Main Street, the front beach & marina. The cottage was very clean & nicely presented with great Art work everywhere. Sheets & towels are provided & for a small fee the beds can be made up for you.

ensure shower is free of scum (was NOT in our case)clean extractor filter as it stank of used fatmice problem was evident as welsh dresser reeked of them!all of the above should have been done; after all, you charge a ridiculous fee for cleaningnot the worst accommodation we have stayed in, but far from the bestlocation was fine, but for some people the stairs to main bedroom would be an issue

We stayed at Criterion Cottage for 4 nights. Upon arrival, we contacted the property management to come and conduct a more thorough clean of the bedrooms as they were unsuitable to stay in (built up dust alongside/under beds, cobwebs in opening windows and doors, dusty bedframes/lamps/surfaces). Someone came very swiftly and spent some time rectifying the main issues, however it was still a dirty house that needs a much more thorough clean. The cleaner even mentioned that she had done what she could in the time she had, but hadn't managed to get everything. I don't think we would stay here again, despite it being a very cute and character filled apartment. A very deep clean is overdue and would have made the experience much more enjoyable.

Overall I enjoyed my stay but was slightly disappointed. The cottage was relatively clean but small things need to also be concentrated on. The BBQ had not been cleaned , therefore no BBQing for us. Oven tray, pot and pans needed a scrub before I could use them. Dusty fan in upstairs bedroom, not been cleaned for a while.

Perfect location, good size cottage, comfy accommodation. I understand there has been difficulty getting cleaning staff the last few years, and on the whole the cottage was clean... ie: kitchen, bathroom, living spaces. But the whole cottage needs a deep spring clean. In particular BBQ and patio area, bedrooms, windows and screens. I will return again, loved Robe and the cottage. Recommend and good luck to you all.

We love staying in this cottage, it’s full of charm, the cosy front lounge is cool in summer & also offers an open fire �� in winter! The courtyard is sunny for summer entertaining plus there’s a good bbq. Bedroom 1 is upstairs with a very small balcony & French doors to catch the sea breeze. Bedroom 2 is adjacent the front lounge. Entertaining is fun in the spacious lounge/kitchen area. The bathroom is small & very functional. The location is fabulous, so close to the front beach & minutes from great cafes restaurants hotels patisseries Robe bakery & many interesting fashion & outlets. We took great walks to the marina & onto the Obelisk from Criterion Cottage. It’s also pet friendly.

We love our cottage with the red door. First came here in 2000 and now could easily spend more time here as Empty Nesters. From the moment we unlock the door we totally relax. Even our two Border Collies relish in the family down time together. Looking back on photos over the past 20 years we notice the subtle changes but our stay feels the same... perfect!
