The location in Point Clear for a couple is ideal. The amenities are good, but the convertible sofa and chairs in the sitting area keep it from being excellent. They should be updated, since the cost has increased each time we stayed for a week. The add on fees for cleaning, admin and credit card charges plus taxes have made this less than the good deal this was just 3 years ago.

The property was difficult to find, but we finally figured it out!

Finding the property was a challenge, especially in the dark and the listing does not provide any help in locating and typing the address in Google leads down the wrong road, otherwise house was clean and nice.

Quiet… Removed from the hustle but convenient to Fairhope and destinations east. Clean and comfortable.

For the third year, we were so happy to be able to rent this property for a daughter who has elderly dogs who cannot be left behind but whom we cannot let miss our annual family reunion. This cottage is convenient to The Grand, where the reunion takes place, cute, comfortable, and just the perfect size. (And some of us enjoy using it to take a quiet little break from all the reunion fun!)

Our stay here was wonderful. The cabin was well kept and beautiful on the inside. Nice and quiet area. Exactly what we were looking for on this trip (5 nights in August). However, we did have to concerns. As soon as we arrived to cabin on the first afternoon, we noticed that the deadbolt to porch from bedroom did not lock. We called to report it but nobody came during our visit to repair. Another thing, we loved the seclusion of the cabin but there needs to be gravel put down in area for parking. It did rain on and off on our trip. This made for a lot of mess on car and shoes. So, I highly suggest that if you notice rain in the forecast for your trip that you do not drive a car that sits low to ground like we did (mustang). Should’ve drive Jeep like originally planned.

The deadbolt on back door didn’t lock properly. It was reported as soon as we checked in but was not repaired during the five nights that we stayed

This was our second stay at Porch Lane Cottage F in less than 12 months and we have already booked our stay for next spring. If you’re looking for a private and quiet vacation spot that is a short trip to many fine dining and shopping locations as well as beaches, fishing charters and other entertainment venues….this could be a great choice, just for the two of you. Located at the end of a lane in wooded seclusion off Scenic Highway 98, there is no noisy neighbors and loud partying late at night. We spent time shopping and dining in Fairhope, took two trips to the beaches at Gulf Shores, enjoyed two fishing charters with Reel Gypsy Fishing from Fort Morgan, took a day trip to Dauphin Island to shop, dine and swim at the beaches there. The cottage was rustic, but well maintained and clean with comfortable furnishings. We had great communication with the property managers throughout the entire process from beginning to end. The dollar value for that area was excellent. Thank you, Gulf 2 Beach and VRBO, for helping to make our stay a memorable one.

I made a mistake and did not book enough days. Vivian helped me book one more day and saved me from driving back in the rain! The area was quiet and really nice! Can definitely see myself booking again.

More attention

I took my mom for a getaway weekend for her 75th birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay! It was so peaceful and quiet!

Overall it was a good stay! But future renters should know that the shower handle is broken and you can't control the water temperature. You should also know that there is a nice firepit in the back which along with the location was the redeeming factor. The grill listed turned out to be a tiny little thing sitting on the front porch. The owner did personally replace the broken coffeemaker. I probably won't use VRBO or Gulf2Beach again.

House was nice, but shower knob was broken, and the cold water leaked when turned on.

TV and cable in bedroom not working. I can’t imagine 4 people staying here. The room was fine for two of us. Furniture very run down and uncomfortable. Hard to say if we would stay here again. Probably not due to the condition of property in spite of the good location.

Neat place in the woods just across the street for Mobile Bay. Secluded, but in a nice neighborhood. A short drive to Foley, Mobile and the gulf. Reasonably priced. It’s rustic and meant to be that way. Not a 5 star suite, but we aren’t looking for that either. Had all the amenities of home. My kid loved the fire pit and outdoor shower! Would definitely stay there again.

We were babysitting 6 month old grandchild and needed a little more space than a hotel room for nap times. Cute cottage, nice layout, needs general maintenance. Cold faucet didn’t work in bathroom, shower handle broken, peeling Sheetrock/paint in bathroom, couch supports lose or broken. Cottage had clean linens and was clean overall, Nice quiet safe location close to The Grand Hotel and a short ride to Fairhope. Enjoyed the front porch rocking chairs and appreciate provision of all basic appliances and needs.

Needs some TLC but still had a great time.

Enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and secluded. We enjoyed a nice fire at night in the back yard. We had our dog and baby and it was great for all of us!

Laundry closet is outside on the heavily wooded back porch. The backyard was just mud and woods, and no place to park in front that wasn’t muddy. It’s not a bad house, but definitely not kept up and cleaned thoroughly.
