Spend Your Vacation In A Real Southern Hotel
L'hôtel historique Volante a été entièrement rénové et mis à jour à l'intérieur mais conserve son ancien charme du sud des années 1890. Passez vos vacances dans un véritable manoir du sud. Des chênes historiques avec de la mousse espagnole ornent les vastes jardins plantés pour attirer les colibris. Il y a des vérandas enveloppantes aux premier et deuxième niveaux. La maison a 3 niveaux et 6 grandes chambres. Il y a 4 salles de bains avec douche. Détendez-vous sur la véranda et sirotez votre julep à la menthe. La propriété dispose d'un accès à la plage et d'une jetée privée de plus de 300 pieds avec un grand hangar à bateaux. Amarrez votre bateau au hangar à bateaux avec téléski à jet électronique. La propriété est sur une rue privée sans sortie et est très calme malgré être à moins de 5 minutes en voiture du centre de Fairhope. La plage est sablonneuse et propice à la marche, à la baignade ou à la navigation de plaisance. C'est une merveilleuse maison pour les réunions de famille, ou simplement pour remonter le temps et s'évader. Le mobilier a été soigneusement sélectionné pour offrir confort et charme. Our family had a great Thanksgiving at this beautiful home on the bluff in Fairhope. The weather was not very cooperative, but we did brave trips down to the wharf and enjoyed having our big Thanksgiving meal at the beautiful dining room table. Cozy beds, and plenty of room to spread out. Thanks for a lovely trip!

This is our third year in a row staying at the property. It is absolutely magical with the most amazing sunsets and views. We love walking out to the pier and walking on the beach. The house is amazing and very spacious as well. We will be back again for sure!!

The property was even better then listed. Location Location Location, and what a view and great place to relax after playing the RTJ trail or walking around Fairhope. Felt like home.

We had a grandson graduate from Auburn on one Saturday and another one get married the next one. We choose one day to celebrate both of these events and Christmas. We started at 10 and went to 10! The place was perfect for this. We never felt cramped. Our host graciously provided many lovely dishes and accessories that we used. We would recommend it to others and hope to visit again in a few years.

The only downside was that we arrived post tropical rain storm so the beach was not too enticing, but the close proximity to local sites and beaches kept everyone busy. Melissa was prompt and helpful with all communications and made us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this beautiful home for a relaxing vacation.

We loved your porch. You could see the water and all your plants. We loved your back yard. Your home was beautiful and we so admired your beautiful furniture. A fine place to stay during difficult times.
The house was/is as advertised. We stayed as a family (three generations) and were able to spread out across the three floors. It is a private location and we did not have to deal with crowds. The porches were great (as was the rest of the house) and we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Family Vacation!
The property is beautiful! We loved the house and the space it provided. We had 11 people stay, and we had plenty of room for the teens to play games, adults to lounge, and the grandparents to relax. The dining area was a great gathering place and the kitchen was well stocked, so cooking meals was easy. The dock on the water was the one of the best parts of this property. The kids loved fishing off the dock and caught close to a hundred fish...most were small, but it kept everyone entertained because no one waited long to catch something. Another wonderful aspect of the house is the location is near a cute area in Fairhope that has food, shopping, and entertainment. Lastly, Margaret, the owner, is very responsive and is easy to contact. Overall, this was a great family vacation home for all ages!

Historic Home With Everything A Family Reunion Needs
A perfect place for a large family to gather. The bedrooms were nice and the beds comfortable. It is rare to find a place equipped to a point that it appears a family lives there. The pier, gas pit, outside balconies all being places for people to spread out and enjoy. Having Fairhope within walking distance is an added bonus. Finally, the hosts could not have been more accommodating and were very helpful in finding items left behind after we left.

Family Vacation
A great place for a family vacation. I took my daughters and their families including children from toddlers to teens. Everyone enjoyed staying here and there was plenty of room. Very relaxing and tranquil place. Good kitchen with everything you need to cook including an outdoor grill. Plenty of things to do locally as well. Very friendly and helpful property manager.

Such a Beautiful Home!
Our family was visiting Fairhope for a family wedding in December and had the privilege of staying in this amazing house. So cozy and comfortable, plenty of room for our group of 12. Everything was perfect, beginning with our arrival, we were given a complete tour of the house and everything was thoroughly explained to us. I was amazed at the stock in the kitchen, any utensil you could possibly need was in this kitchen! We spent a lot of mornings having coffee on the porches, and in the evenings enjoying the view of Mobile Bay. So peaceful, yet so close to Fairhope where we found so many things to do in this unique town. We have stayed in vacation rentals many times before, but this one was exceptional! Margaret was so helpful and so easy to correspond with during the entire rental process. The house was even better than the pictures! I would love to come back to this unique property some day, and would highly recommend this house on the bay! Thanks for a memorable stay!

We rented this home in November and ended with a family reunion for Thanksgiving. What a glorious place to accommodate family! There was a room for football for the guys, the dining table was large enough for our traditional "Chase the Ace" card game and we set up a jigsaw puzzle on the back veranda. We borrowed folding tables and enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner on the veranda facing Mobile Bay. We raced to the pier every afternoon to catch the sunset that never looked the same. We will cherish forever this time and the wonderful, accommodating slice of heaven.

Perfect for my family!
We stayed in this home for several days. It was the perfect place for my family! We really enjoyed the back porches that looked over Mobile Bay. The kids had a great time playing in the water! The property manager met me at the house and was very helpful! He took me all over the house and demonstrated how the door locks worked and how to turn the alarm on and off. I would recommend this home to my friends.

Delightful home with something for everyone
Fairhope is a great place for antiqueing, enjoying southern cuisine, kayaking, fishing and touring historic sites. It's a birder heaven. The Hotel Volante is a large and gracious former hotel that is well equipped for cooking and lounging. It's been recently decorated and the gardens are lovely in spring. A long pier brings one right into the bay. Guests from 29 to 93 years had a great time. Highly recommended.

Exceeded expectations
I found it hard to believe that this beautiful, well furnished home, with its quiet neighborhood and wooded bayside setting was a vacation rental. Located about a mile from downtown, a car is essential. Local restaurants, at least the ones we patronised , were execellent although occasionally pricey.
There is a lot to do and see around Fairhope, but the house is so pleasant that often I was content to stay there and read.
Our ages ranged from four to seventy three, and included one 36 year old recent amputee who managed to get about without inordinate difficulty. He used the first floor bedroom..
I would recommend this rental without reservation.
The property managers were helpful and friendly (we needed very little help).

First visit to Fairhope! Great place!
We stayed at this lovely house with charming character and tons of space. She is a beauty! We loved hanging out on the back porch swing and fishing from the pier! The owner was wonderful to work with and we are gracious that she shared her home with our family. We definitely would recommend this spacious home with its beautiful landscape and views. We hope to return soon!

Amazing!
What a wonderful place to stay! Work travel brought me to Fairhope from Portland, Oregon for the first time and I'd love to come back and stay longer. Margaret has created a beautiful home that is comfortable and relaxing and made this a place that was truly difficult to leave. The beach and the views from all of the balconies including the dock itself were incredible and the house included everything we needed for our visit. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting this area!
