The house is very clean and neat. The host Kathy was very nice and helpful. Her house has everything you need. We enjoyed staying there a lot!

Lovely, comfortable house. Quiet location. Host very communicative and helpful. You do need to drive to most places on the island from here (my husband was hoping the island shuttle bus would be more useful but i thought driving was easy and most places were within 29 minutes)

Such a great little house, very private and you felt like you were in the forest, so quiet and relaxing and still close to everything. Very clean and the kitchen and bath well equipped. My husband and I loved it and hope to go back for another stay!

We loved the house. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was conveniently located to Acadia and Bar Harbor. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The owner was very responsive and helpful. The house was very clean and well-organized except for the treadmill in the primary bedroom. It was in the way. Kitchen was well equipped. There were no markings on the shower (no arrows or print) so was initially difficult to manage, but we caught on.
The house is in the woods, a good distance from Bar Harbor. The Town Hill General Store was wonderful - great coffee and muffins.

We loved the location and proximity to the park for our daily outings. House was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with Kathy was excellent. We walked to Atlantic brewery, it was delicious and we even went back a second night. Did Abel’s down the road for seafood. We shopped in Ellsworth before arriving at the house. A++

We loved our stay at this property! One could not ask for a better location! The drive was close to the east and west side of Mount Desert Island.
The house was very clean and so cozy! Since we had teenagers, the kids were extra happy that they had their own beds.
The kitchen was well equipped, had all the necessities plus some (we were impressed with the spice rack). There was plenty of space for everyone. We loved the grill and the deck. The check in/ check out process was seamless, owner very responsive and attentive! I highly recommend staying at this property!

Eden House was a comfy house with a large yard that my dog loved. The owners were quick to answer any questions and even offered to send me some items I left behind.
I loved the location in Town Hill since it allows you to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor with easy access to Acadia Park and several dining options nearby.

We loved our stay at Kathy's home. It felt like our home away from home. The house is set back from the main road surrounded by many tall trees. You don't hear any traffic noise, only the sounds of birds singing. The property is quite large with a massive fire pit that we enjoyed multiple times during our stay. The location was perfect for our family. Great lobster dinner options were minutes away along with amazing barbecue at Atlantic Brewery Mainly Meats. We will definitely rebook with Kathy the next time we visit Maine.

Just like visiting Acadia National Park, it was quiet and serene. We found all we needed for our stay in a comfortable, creatively decorated space.
Thanks!

We had a wonderful time staying here as our home base while exploring Acadia with our kids. We appreciated the quieter pace away from Bar Harbor while still being able to easily get to all hikes and restaurants in town. Great recommendations from the hosts, property exactly as described, well stocked kitchen, easy communication — would recommend across the board!

We hated to have to leave. Upon arrival at the house it's in a perfect setting: quiet road but easy to get back on main route to explore the area. Inside we found everything to be super clean & tidy. Very(!!!) well stocked kitchen. I don't think there's anything missing to make, bake or cook whatever you might want to while there. Nice yard& deck space to use- we were able to enjoy each day. Kathy was great with communication prior to our arrival, also she's left some great books, maps and DVD's there on Acadia & things to see.
We rate this 5++ on everything here. Hoping our travels will bring us back for more next year. Thank you Kathy for everything!

Kathy’s house was a gem on Mt Desert Island, tucked away from the crowds, yet close to Bar Harbor and the park. The house was well stocked with amenities, basically everything you need for your stay with a bonus of frozen Maine blueberries, pancake mix, butter and syrup to prepare a delicious pancake breakfast the first morning. Highly recommended for your visit in the area.

Nice and quiet location that has easy access to all points of MDI. We had Lobster rolls at Beal's in Southwest Harbor, visited the lighthouse at Bass Harbor, drove over to Bar Harbor, and thoroughly enjoyed the Park Loop road and all the hikes we took in. Eden House worked great for us giving us the much appreciated relaxation at the end of a busy day!

We traveled to Bar Harbor with our two Labradors and stayed for a second time at this wonderful property. The second time was just as good as the first. Kathy is so responsive to questions. The house was fully supplied with everything we needed. The blueberries were a nice touch and we enjoyed them every morning with our yogurt. The pups loved the big back yard. The house is in a terrific wooded setting close to the town of Bar Harbor by car. It was so nice to return to this quiet, peaceful house everyday after hiking with our pups. When we return to Bar Harbor we will stay in this house again!

Our family stayed four nights at the Eden House while visiting the Acadia National Park area. The place was clean and very cute and cozy. The location was super convenient! We enjoyed relaxing in the evenings after our busy days. Communication with the host was perfect and we followed through on some of her suggestions and they were great! Our youngest enjoyed the box of toys. Our daughter read a couple books. And our older boys enjoyed watching some movies. Everything was easy here and the house had everything we needed!

We loved our stay! Kathy was so responsive and the house had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, check in was a breeze, and everything was clean. It was also in a great location that made it easy to get to any place we needed, the shuttle stop is close by, and it’s away from the crazy busy Bar Harbor area. We would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed our stay here. Everything was as described (or better). You can't beat the location for exploring Acadia and other areas on Mount Desert Island. The kids really loved the setting of the house in the woods with the mossy surroundings. If we are ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here again!

This is such a great secluded property not far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor. You really get the best of both worlds. The hosts had the place well stocked with everything you need in case you had forgotten something. Comfy, cozy, and very affordable for our family.

We were very comfortable in the house and found it to be a great location on the quiet side. It was close to everything that we did on the island and to Ellsworth where we did shopping and found restaurants that weren't crowded like the ones in Bar Harbor but had great food. Our favorite adventure was going up to Cadillac Mountain and seeing all the vista and the colorful boulders covered in lichens!

Everything we needed for a long weekend exploring Acadia with a toddler. The owners made everything really easy and comfortable.
Laundry, every type of kitchen pot and tool, highchair in dining room, kids books and puzzles, Roku tv...all helped us keep it a happy stay for everyone!
Theres a playground, pizza and ice cream right up the street in case Bar Harbor isnt in the cards for tired kiddos.

Wonderful place to spend the long weekend! It has everything you need, and even though it's not a huge space everything is open and does not feel cramped. Kathy is very responsive and easy to communicate with. I loved the special touch of the blueberry pancake breakfast! Just wish I had been traveling with people who eat pancakes. Still, I was happy to have the blueberries for my oatmeal in the mornings.
Everything was clean and the space felt very homey. The bathroom has a spacious shower and looks to be pretty newly redone. Bedrooms are comfortable with space for storing duffel bags and hanging a few clothes too. The property is quiet and has a lush moss lawn. Lots of blueberry bushes are all around, and nice rocks and a bench for watching/listening to birds too! Easy to get everywhere without being bogged down in downtown traffic. Nice, quiet area to walk my dog in the mornings too before getting started for the day. Since the property is tucked away, it was especially nice to bring him back here to really relax after a long day of hiking.

This is an exceptionally, well kept and beautiful home. The decor was a mix of new age and colonial. Much Maine history can be found in this home. It is useful to both vacationers and history "buffs". Well stocked with excellent kitchen tools & shining appliances. Great spring water.
Only 15 minutes from the excitement of Bar Harbor yet secluded & quiet near "mom & pop" stores and hidden eclectic coffee shops.
I rate the Eden House a "10", in every way.

Kathy is a super host, and Eden House is wonderful. Even though I had read the reviews, I was still surprised by all the extras in the house. The location was great for reaching all our trails in ANP and shopping in Ellsworth. We had a couple of rainy days hiking, and it was so nice to return to a comfortable house where we could take a nice shower, cook, and watch TV. I would love to return during the summer to grill and relax on the quiet deck.

Let me add to the long list of 5-star reviews. Communication from Kathy was timely, helpful, and responsive. Everything was clean and set when we arrived, and Kathy informed me to let her know once we got settled in if there was anything else we needed. We spent three full days enjoying Acadia National Park, and the house location was very central as we traveled to several areas of the park - Bar Harbor, Jordan Pond, Cadillac Mountain, Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, and even Schoodic Pensinsula. Had we stayed in Bar Harbor, our drives to the lighthouse and Schoodic would've been much longer. Plus we had much more seclusion here instead of a place like Bar Harbor. We don't eat at restaurants on our trips (other reviews have highlighted local eateries), but rather we were eating meals at the house every night. The kitchen had everything we needed, and a dishwasher with pods to take care of the dishes each night. We were also able to do laundry while there. We loved our stay, and loved Acadia. God willing we can make a return visit, we will seek out this place again without a second thought!

Our young family spent the week at this property and it was perfect for us. The open floor plan was great and the fully stocked kitchen made cooking easy. We hiked and explored each day and was 10-25 minutes from everything. The home is tucked in the woods on a gravel road so it really felt like we were by ourselves. We did s'mores each night at the campfire too. It was so helpful to have access to the washer and dryer with three (2, 5, 7) boys who were filthy at the end of each full day. We can't wait to return.

Kathy was a great host that kept in touch throughout our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. The home is in a great spot near Mainely Meats BBQ, and is a short drive from the park and downtown Bar Harbor. West Eden Pizza and The Travelin Lobster were great dinner options nearby as well. Our toddler loved all of the books and puzzles in the house and was sad to leave, we hope to visit again soon!

The house is clean, neat & in good repair. Be careful about climbing the stairs to the upper level that is locked to VRBO renters. The ceiling is low in the stairwell. Also, the stairwell to the basement is off the kitchen & initially looked like a pantry to us, & was not well lit. There are 2 different wall light switches and only one illuminates the basement stairs. There is a pellet stove that cannot be used by VRBO renters. There is an outdoor children’s fort. Couldn’t tell if it was safe to use or not.

Very well stocked! Close to Trenton, Acadia Park and about 15 to Bar Harbor. A bit dated, but clean and spacious. We enjoyed our time.

Everything about the property was wonderful. There was plenty of kitchen items from spices to casserole dishes with lots of pots, plans and glassware. The appliances were great. The place was very clean and comfortable. The location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do. There is a brewery, pizza/deli, market and coffee/shaved ice within a few minutes of walking. There was plenty of linens and towels and a washer/dryer as well! Our host was right on top of responding to any questions. We had a dog there and that was super easy to navigate with a great yard. We would definitely stay here again.
