Our family had a wonderful time staying on the island! We loved all the different seating areas, from couches to tables, we had plenty of room. The outside area was nice and we enjoyed the yard games they provided. Having access to a boat was also a nice perk so we could boat to different areas to swim, get ice cream, and just stroll around the lake. We did bring our own lake floats and life jackets, although some jackets were provided on the boat. But definitely bring your own water toys and rafts. The house was nice and clean when we arrived and very bright with all the windows. Great views! Having so many bathrooms and places to spread out was amazing too. The caretakers, Nicholl and family, made us feel right at home and promptly helped with any texts or questions we had. Everyone was so lovely! We don't have any complaints and look forward to returning again.

House was very cozy and met all expectations of our family. Hostess and Property Managers were very accommodating. Will gladly return. Fishing was great. Pontoon boat needed a deep cleaning but other than that, everything was perfect. Plenty of on-site games, nice grills, very clean with a kitchen that had everything and more. ***** 5 star!

It's not very often you can say you rented a private island all to yourselves for a weekend, but with this place it's the real deal. We had a great weekend and the variety of accommodations, particularly the pontoon boat, made it head and shoulders above other places we looked at. Definitely would recommend!

The property is amazing. The house is beautiful and well kept. We had the use of two pontoons and lived just riding around the lake. Thank you so much for such a great experience. We hope to come back next year!

This was our second trip to Round Island for our extended family vacation. We had a wonderful week together and couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful location. The home is spacious, welcoming, and well-stocked with thoughtful amenities.

We had a wonderful time on round island. The house is even nicer in person. The set up was perfect for our family with four bedrooms each with their own bathroom. It was absolutely spotless. Everyone loved it and we are planning on returning.

We had a great time hanging out with our adult children! Fish weren’t biting but that’s ok, hanging out on the boat was fun!
Next time we would bring our own wood for the fire pit. They had a propane pit, that they encouraged us to use instead. It didn’t throw off enough heat for our evenings. We did end up using the wood fire pit. The cabin was cozy and didn’t lack anything! We will be back!

This was a loverly home One thing I noticed that could use some repair, but - other than that -it is obvious the place is well kept. I'm sure it is a challenge to catch every fix needed with vacationers coming and going. Main concern is the stairway railings that were not too sturdy and also a weak railing outside and is something to keep aware of during your stay -- other than that - I found the property to be beautiful and having a boat at will for personal use throughout our stay was amazing!. We loved puttering around the lake and looking at the homes and neighborhood. we were very happy with the island, the home, and the much needed family time. Thank you to Chris - the owner who was readily available via text if I had any questions and to the property manager - Nicholl who was also readily available with my questions and very helpful and kind. I'm already thinking about when I can plan another relaxing trip to the island. Thank you Chris for making this available to us.

Had a wonderful time at this amazing location....Check in was super easy! Nicholl & her son Logan were the best helpers & provided us with all the information & assistance we needed. The house was very clean, with plenty of room for all 8 guests. We also got upgraded to the newer pontoon boat for the 5 days & it did not disappoint. Would highly (and have already) recommend this place to anyone....

We take a trip together every year to a different destination. Great communication with owner and property host. Property as advertised plus a few extras. This was the best place we’ve been in 8 years. Can’t wait to go back next year.

The property is so pretty & our stat was peaceful. Chris was very available and responsive; however the caretaker who checked us in said I could reach out anytime & asked for my number to send local attraction info & maps never sent it and never replied to my inquiry. We would visit again either way. The area is easy to navigate.

This was our third time visiting and it never disappoints. The house and island are very well kept. There were updates to the home that made it even more comfortable and relaxing.
The lake has amazing fishing. We came with some younger children and they were all able to catch. The kayaks and paddle boat were a hit with my teens. The area overall is peaceful, serene and so so so refreshing.
We are already looking forward to coming back! The host has great communication and the whole process was seamless.

Our family of six adults and two small children fully enjoyed our week on Round Island. The accommodations were perfect - each ‘group’ had their own bedroom and bathroom + lots of common spaces from which to choose, inside and outside. Board games and corn hole, watching sunsets from the pontoon or via the plentiful living room windows, puttering around the very large Lake Sylvan, movie-watching on the big screen in the basement, eating together at the table or lounging on the deck. Our week had sunny warm weather and rainy cooler days, but the variety of spaces allowed us to adjust with ease. So grateful for this private retreat for our family gathering!

Our family of 5 with three boys 8, 11, and 15 along with our dog met up with my sister and husband and my father to surprise him for his 70th bday. We all enjoyed the gorgeous lake views, boat rides with fishing, kayaking, paddle boat, and SUP. My boys and I kayaked/SUP just across the lake to the “Big Island” and hiked the 1.4 mile trail. Found the outdoor church on the island. We ventured in town to Sylvan Cellars and had a nice brunch. We had plenty of room to sleep as each bedroom has its own bathroom and we used the movie room to have enjoyable time when it rained. We had nice fires and we all used the golf. Sun rises were phenomenal! We would definitely highly recommend this unique island home!

Had a great time! The rental was nice and clean and there was plenty of room for our group. Enjoyed the lake using the pontoon. The views were fantastic and it was an enjoyable experience all around!!

The cottage/home is great; lots of room, nicely arranged for group activities. There is plenty of play equipment for young and old and the island accommodates. Shout out to Caretaker, Chad, who literally took care of us; provided a new DVD player and the kids were so excited they slept in the Cinema Room that night. The use of 2 pontoons was a comforting luxury. We had a couple stormy days but we managed to laugh out way through.
Our family will treasure the moments.

Having your own island and boat is something everyone needs to do! Complete relaxation at this property and gorgeous views. House was clean and had everything you need! Very minor issues would be corn hole boards in very poor shape and bags duct taped. I'm sure owner was not aware of the condition of the boards or how other guests treated it. Last minor issue would be boat cleanliness. Having a boat included is awesome and a big plus to the unit, it could of just used some cleaning prior to guests arrival. Overall great stay and plan to go back again!

The property was very nice. They took care of all necessities. Very well kept and owner and property manager at your every becken call. Couldn’t of asked for a better experience. This just might be a trip we do several times a year. Amazing views and amazing stay.

This was perfect for our group, which included an infant and 2 dogs. The entertainment center was perfect for our 6-way Nintendo games, and the kitchen and firepit were also easy and made our stay extra-enjoyable. I would only criticize the internet connection, which was so slow we used our phone data instead. Overall excellent stay and we are hoping to be back!

We are a pretty laid back group & were happy to be on an island (in Indiana!!) together. We were given 2 pontoon boats (tho hubby left key in 1, killing battery, ugh). The guy who checked us in was fantastic, helping us with every piece of luggage & everything. We had a lot to bring with us for 4 days (4 adults, 2 kids & a pup!). The house on the inside was a little less than what was expected from photos. I think maybe the pictures are a bit outdated. One double-pane window was broken on the outside & the glass, tho not reachable as it was on the outside, was still jagged in the pane and a lot of glass was lying in the rock/mulch below the window. I told Chris about it & she was very apologetic explaining what happened. A few of the recliners in the great room & the room overlooking the lake were broken (we think). When we sat in them we were a bit tilted. That didn't stop my parents from sleeping in them overlooking the lake! We enjoyed the movie room in the basement. That was fun for sure. Chris said that her husband wanted to get a screen so the image will be sharper. The wall did not have a sharp image but we kind of felt the nostalgia of a drive in! :) The fire pit is FANTASTIC. We moved the deck chairs down and enjoyed the pit both day & night. They are heavy but it's worth it to move them (the stone benches they have are great as well but we really wanted to lean back & chill!). The firewood provided was excellent. It was burning large in no time. We enjoyed the corn hole. 2 things we would change if we owned the house: 1. locks on the bathrooms. The bathroom on the main level that we all used had no lock so whenever anyone used it we had to announce to others we were doing so, so we wouldn't be walked in on (!). Our Master Bathrm also had no lock & the door was tilted; wouldn't close. So even my spouse & I had to give warning if we were in there.2. There is way too much "stuff" in the kitchen. Need something? You'll find it, eventually! We had to empty cabinets to fit our food. I'd go thru everything & get rid of stuff that's repetitive or not needed. There was a lot of junk in some cabinets.Oh wait - There are NO wineglasses! We used highball glasses. Overall, as I said, we had a wonderful time. Having been to many VRBO places, this was a bit overpriced compared to others. Then again, we were on an ISLAND in Indiana. How many chances do you get to do that? :)

During the Pandemic when few are flying, this was the perfect spot to vacation with our daughter and her fiancé who live in Omaha. We are in Philadelphia and the island was a 9 hour drive for each of us. The reason I titled this the “best of both worlds” is because we got to experience TWO beautiful homes and islands on the lake. When we arrived, we were informed that there was a problem with the water pump. Sean and his associate Chad were working on it. We were able to stay at the beautiful home on Round Island the first night. Unfortunately the problem persisted, however Sean and Chad whisked is to Sean’s second beautiful home and island on the lake. It was just as spectacular and the dog loved it because the island was bigger—more to explore. Sean and his wife Chris were so accommodating—even offered us an extra night because of the situation. This was the perfect family vacation—board games, boating, puzzles, movies in a beautiful spot.

We couldn’t have asked for a better mini vacation. The house and location is perfect. A piece of paradise in Indiana-completely unexpected and so appreciated. We will definitely try to vacation there again.
