This was our 2nd annual vacation at Sisters 3. The property has a few quirks (no back exit, dishwasher in the room next to the kitchen) but nothing that gets in the way of an enjoyable, multi generation vacation. The hosts kindly provide linens, towels, toilet paper, and a few cleaning supplies. And yes,a bottle of wine! Its just 2 blocks to the beach and the view is gorgeous. During our stay, the town had a water main break, and the hists went above & beyond to ensure we were informed. Thanks for another great vacation!

Cape Charles is a very quaint town. House was great. However, some maintenance is needed. We could not lock the house from the outside. The porch fan was broken. Visitors need to be aware of the gnats. They were horrific.

We had a fantastic time staying in Sister’s 3. We have been going to the Cape for years to vacation with friends. We have four adults and three kids, ages 5 and 8, in our group. Like many (most?) of the homes in Cape Charles, it’s older, but that adds to the charm and gives it character other homes don’t have. Plenty of storage to unpack in the bedrooms and kitchen. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, which was spacious enough for our party and we didn’t get eaten alive by mosquitoes like we have at other properties, huge bonus! I would love to see some nicer porch furniture in the future, and maybe a fully enclosed outdoor shower. But they aren’t a necessity, of course. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

The property suited our family because it has 4 bedrooms and it is so close to the beach. Wonderful spot to watch the sunset but we were unable to see the sunset this year except for one night because of the cloud cover. Sunsets in Cape Charles are beautiful and each one is different. Our family love to hear the history of where we grew up and spent our early years.

Lovely home that was located in a peaceful area and close to the beach. Rent a golf cart and you can ride around town, shop in the charming shops, and dine in restaurants. We had perfect weather everyday! Owner is very responsive to any questions or issues. Would definitely return!

House felt like you went to stay at your grandmothers. Very easy process for check in and out. Family enjoyed their stay. House needs a little maintenance, but it is an old property and the end of the season.

The town isn’t far, though we rented a golf cart anyway. It was a great week. My only difficulty in the house was the kitchen items- some of the pans and pots were so old they didn’t sit flat to the oven, making it hard to cook. Otherwise we loved it! It was clean and it’s awesome that it is four bedrooms! The tenant really is silent as a mouse. My baby boy loved climbing the stairs, but brought a baby gate and it was perfect. Very short walk to beach entry and kind neighbors. A bit of a busy apartment complex next door (busy for Cape Charles) as in noise and kids running around- but we didn’t mind and they weren’t on our side of the street.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay and everything was as stated. The location is perfect and the town is the friendliest. There are beautiful shops, great food and coffee and you feel safe in this beautiful quaint town. The beach is just 400 feet away making it perfect to see the beauty of sunrise and sunset and ease of access to and from the beach. We highly recommend this house and location.

We had an excellent stay at this house! We visited with 5 adults, 2 kids, and 1 baby. The house has a nice set up for this many people. 3/4 bedrooms have a bay view.
The house has a pretty basic set up. I’d give the house a a 5/10 for comfort- beds/couches/chairs. The kitchen has a good amount of things to use, missing a toaster. The house is not set up for a baby- no high chair/crib. The house does not have beach gear (chairs/cooler). We rented these items from a great local company- ‘All About The Beach’ at an extra expense.
The place was clean and the heat/air conditioning worked great. Pertinent to the other reviews stating the condition of the property- I’d just say this is an very old house, located near water. It is a bit quirky and has its ‘old house’ charms.
The location cannot be beat- 1 block to the beach, a few blocks from Main St. The front porch is large and a perfect place to hang out and have meals.
The host was very responsive to questions, a bit un-knowledgeable about the area, but overall helpful and pleasant.
Rent a golf cart and have a great time!

This was an amazing stay for our whole family. The house was beautiful and the hosts made it even better! With clean rooms prepare with a fresh set of towels on each bed and a detailed binder for all of the local spots to visit including contact information for golf cart rentals. The care and attention that was put into the small details made us appreciate the small friendly neighborhood even more. We can’t wait for our next visit.

Good property for the grooms party. Cleaning was a little sub par and it had a strange smell. I think there’s a shortage of house cleaners ( we rented other properties and that seemed to be the theme) so maybe that was part of that. But over all a good experience!

Property is in disrepair and a danger to renters – photos misleading. Owner tried to cover basic repair costs to his property by using our children to falsely blame them for damages they did not do because they can't defend themselves.
1) No batteries in the tv remote. There were no batteries when we arrived. Not a big deal to us, we just stream on our laptops, but he automatically blamed us.
2) Excessive sand. Huge slap in the face – I excessively cleaned his house, taking much care to ensure all sand was swept ad vacuumed. This accusation is so ridiculously false that I can’t trust anything this man says after that, such as the following:
3) Broken coaster holder, bent refrigerator shelf, and buttons ripped off coach pillows. I would have noticed these issues from my extensive cleaning – I assume these accusations were made to give something more substantial to blame on us to justify the charge.
House safety issues:
1) Floor between dining and living room is nearly collapsing and sunken with striped boards- risk of broken ankle or splinters if stepped on wrong.
2) Teflon on all cookware peeling off and gets in all food (danger to health)
3) Water heater unreasonable temperature -burns skin.
4) Staples sticking out of the wall/floor trim boards. Dangerous for little feet, especially.
5) Knob and tube wiring –old house, but this is a fire hazard; needs replaced. Check National Electrical Code banning this wiring.
6) No Carbon monoxide detectors.
Other issues:
1) Man living in apartment attached to this house; two doorways leading to this apartment from inside twin bedroom, and one glass door in bathroom. Doors have locks, but this was undisclosed in the listing - why? This is something renters must know. Plaster walls so thin you can hear everything between the apartment and house.
2) Sheets and towels spotted and stained. Very strong laundry detergent used on all linens – overwhelming scent.
Owner sent a curt, rude, accusatory note a few hours after we left – didn’t ask about anything, just accused us of issues that already existed in his house so he can cover basic maintenance that is clearly lacking. Truly shocking and disappointing.

Perfect Location
Great location, beautiful older home reminiscent of another era! Will return! Super convenient and walkable to the downtown shopping area and super close to the beach! Only suggestion was that since the front porch faces the west it was difficult to enjoy the porch later in the afternoon due to the sun and the heat. The sun shade hanging did not work very well and was difficult to pull down and it blew around during windy conditions.

The best long weekend
We couldn’t have asked for a better getaway. Everything at the house was wonderful (and even better than pictured!) and the location is ideal. We will be back!
