Really enjoyed our stay at San Gabriel. The outside area was stunning with a cute little pool in a tropical garden and a fantastic terrace and decking area with a built in BBQ and breakfast bar. The hosts were super friendly and great at responding to our requests. The next door neighbour offered fresh Colombian coffee and bread deliveries every few days! The kitchen is compact but very well equipped. Nice little touches provided like pool towels and charcoal when we said we were going to have a BBQ.

We were 3 people which was just right for the size of the apartment, I think it would be too tight for 4. The location requires a hire car and is 10 minutes outside of town in the opposite direction to all the sights so adds on a bit of travel time for your days out. However it's just nextdoor to Don Olivo chocolate tour which was great and just a couple of minutes drive/20mins walk to some nice restaurants on the main road.

Wonderful stay. Host was amazing and very helpful with finding us a taxi to go sightseeing as we preferred to not drive although I do recommend a car. Property is very clean and modern and had everything we needed. Tabaccon hot springs is a must as well as the Hanging Bridges. looking forward to come back. the only regret is not staying more days.

loved this place. the apartment was super cute and comfortable. Gabriel was very communicative and helpful. the pool was always very clean and the outdoor area was extremely lovely. we did you every morning on the wooden deck in front of the pool.

as per other guests, you’ll probably want a rental car when staying here because it’s 10 minutes out of town. however, as such it’s quiet and with a rental car it was a great location for la fortuna and for exploring rio celeste as well!

The owners are exceptionally nice, it has a fully equipped kitchen and a well-working washing machine (incl. dryer), the outside area is stunning and the apartment was very clean.

The apartment is located a bit outside of Fortuna, so I would only recommend it for people that have a rented car.

Highly recommend, 2 mins walk to local supermarket, 3 mins drive to nearest restaurant and 10 mins to La Fortuna. Good internet, outdoor pool and BBQ area. Gabriel was a great host.

If you are looking for both local flavor, and luxury at the same time, this is the place. The apartment building is just two identical apartments, one on top of the other. They are well furnished, with fully equipped kitchens. They share a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL private pool area, complete with waterfall, jacuzzi, and a separate covered wet bar/dining/BBQ area for each apartment. The exquisite gardening makes this a hidden oasis. The owner was very responsive to all emails during our stay. Additionally, the caretaker next door was the nicest person we met in Costa Rica; he frequently checks to see if you need anything (and sells homemade bread and coffee in the mornings!) We loved being in a local neighborhood, with a mini-market around the corner, and the less touristy restaurants in El Tanque two minutes drive away. I enjoyed running many miles on the safe and pretty country roads in the mornings. Despite negative comments on the washing machine, we found YouTube videos that explained it. This is one of the best vacation rentals my family has ever stayed in. Muchas muchas gracias Gabriel y Oscar.

Garden, Pool, Proximity to a grocery store, Privacy.

The San Gabriel apartments are a wonderful place to stay just outside of La Fortuna. A quick 5 minute drive gets you right into downtown and parking was never too difficult to find. It's a great option if you want a little more space to yourself to unwind after a long day of exploring the Arenal area of Costa Rica. The garden and pool area are remarkably well kept and it creates a wonderful and relaxing ambiance surrounded by beautiful flowers. We spent every day doing long hikes, ziplining, waterfall repelling, and generally wearing ourselves out. So getting back to San Gabriel and jumping in a nice cool pool was a great end to each day. Everything was clean, the air conditioning was strong, and we had all the amenities we needed and more. The neighbors are unbelievably friendly and helpful. Special shout out to Oscar, who quickly became one of our favorite people in all of Costa Rica. Overall just an amazingly friendly and warm person to be around. Oscar if you are seeing this, we miss you! Thanks for helping make our stay so fantastic!

Great accommodation in Costa Rica. Private pool wit jacuzzi was very pleasant after day in Arsenal Volcano Park. We had everything we need for stay. Owners were very helpful and help as find good restaurant with excellent food.

The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare your own meals and have a nice rest after your tours. The pool is simply fantastic, there's a beautiful garden and grill area with all the necessary utensils. 10/10

Just some 'nice to have' suggestions: - Have a toilet in the pool area, specially for the apartment in the second floor - Include an iron

The pool is and backyard is amazing. The location is good as a launching point for Fortuna. The neighbors are very friendly.

You will need a car and this location does not take credit card which is annoying. This caused a back and forth with the host for a couple of days about arranging payment. This could have been avoided. The washing/drying machine is a type I've never used before and would have preferred a full size unit.

Small apt but perfect for 2-4 people. Amazing backyard area with pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, grill, fridge, and sink. Close to a few different national parks and other attractions. Very friendly neighbors.

Amazing private apartment. Clean. Secluded. With fabulous pool - garden area. Perfect for quiet few days away from hotel crowds! I would deff return there back!

Gabriel's place met expectations and was good value for money. The pool and jacuzzi were brilliant and well-maintained, and surrounding garden was just beautiful. Inside was spacious and comfortable and Gabriel did an excellent job providing us with instructions regarding how to collect keys. The apartment is very well-equipped with everything you need to prepare meals and make yourself feel at home. I recommend the apartment.

The WiFi was a bit challenging because it wasn't very fast and there were a number of ants in the apartment when we arrived, which were easily taken care of with some Raid spray.
