Location and coziness

Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und gut. Alles war ausreichend vorhanden. Frühstücksraum war angenehm ruhig und sehr schön eingerichtet.

Room is amazing - large, modern, comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. Restaurant's meals were great. Location is fantastic, very scenic and close to Giethoorn. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also kettle in the room - seems to be a luxury in many European hotels.

Nothing.

Quiet location on the banks of a river. Large modern bedroom and bathroom. A big radiator to dry my cycling clothes. Restaurant attached with a good selection of food and drink, very good atmosphere like an old English pub. The prices were reasonable. A good breakfast was supplied the next morning.

It’s not a complaint, just an observation. This was a very isolated location and you would need a car or taxi to get into town. But you would know this when you made your booking.

Outdated room, yet the shower/bathroom was very modern and nice. The restaurant although a little more on the expensive side, was superb! Definitely worth a visit.

Lights went off 3-4 times while showering for less than 10 minutes. Motion detectors should be set to a longer time. No electric charging station for a car although booking.com says otherwise. The bathroom floor was very cold! But we were still quite happy with our stay.

Where do I even start! First off, I booked this for my birthday weekend and on booking.com they sent me the details on how to reach the property- the bus they mentioned from the train station doesn’t even ply on weekends and they knew this and still misled me. When I asked for help, they only said oh sorry and asked me to book a taxi and it cost as much as my stay! On arrival we were given a room with no view and when we requested to change the room they said they are fully booked even though check in had just started. When we asked to be served outside (where we had made a dinner reservation on arrival with a waitress) the owner (I presume), curtly said they won’t serve us outside because of the cold. okay no problem. The final straw was on our check out time. my brother had a small cake which we cut on the terrace outside for my birthday and were quietly eating when the same woman came and very very rudely told us that we couldn’t eat our own food there. We apologised but she wouldn’t stop giving us grief for doing so even after we told her it was my birthday and we didn’t know and would leave immediately. I understand we should have asked before cutting the cake but she was extremely rude about asking us to not eat on her property and people like this should really not be in hospitality. The place is truly beautiful but the host is truly inhospitable and arrogant. Left a bad taste in my mouth on my birthday.
