The staff boiled water for our noodles at 2AM.

The bathroom was very small and there were no heating on the floors, so it wet motorcycle gear did not dry.

The hotel has many endearing qualities, among which we count first and foremost the good quality of the bed. The room was spacious and well furnished. The hotel has a great concept regarding details, be they practical or simply convenient/comfortable. For example, this is the only hotel we have found which provides an elevated spot for two suitcases next to each other in a two person room. This has been really useful and we are big fans of this. Other hotels, take note! It is just common sense: Two People = Two Suitcases 🙂 The hotel has a big parking lot, with free parking for the duration of your stay. This makes traveling there by car so much easier, since there is no hassle with finding a parking spot nearby. The breakfast offers a wide variety of different tasty food, and the breakfast hall is kept in a modern and lofty style, the same as the rest of the hotel. A great focus is also put on sustainability by the hotel which is very important to us.

The only positive thing I can say: The Kolding hotel, which I was given as an alternative, is very good and extremely well located, right in the center of Kolding. When I return to Kolding I have no doubt I will stay there again.

In reality I shouldn't rate this hotel because I never got to go there, but I think it's important to share my experience: I booked a room for the night of November 24th through Booking.com on September 27th. Two months in advance! I exchanged several messages with the hotel about my late check-in. On the 24th of November, when I was boarding the plane to Copenhagen and at an hour when I could already be checking in the hotel, I received a message saying that there had been an error with my reservation and the hotel was fully booked with a conference, so they would find me an alternative hotel.

The location is rather good, a good 15 minutes walk to the center, which proved necessary inasmuch when we entered the hotel restaurant where we had placed a reservation we were escorted to the bar by a waiter who said that only guest on a full board can have dinner there. The bar menu was fixed, not a-la-carte thus we left. Swimming pool big with a good sauna, the most positive part of our stay.

The rooms are extremely basic, hostel-level: no furniture close to the bed, no safe, no fridge, no ironing, no coffee-making facilities. Wifi almost not-existent. The lift looks and sound as if it will fall down any moment. There is a game room but the tools to play table tennis aren't there, nor are the darts. Dirty bathroom with someone else's hair.

Everything was perfect

Breakfast was great, good choice of freshly made bread, fruits and more. This, for us, was the only pleasant experience of our stay.

It's summer and it's warm, we understand this very well, but the air in the room was so dry and stale that we had to open a window at night, which allowed fresh, cooler air into the room. Unfortunately, there was a trailer outside with a cooling machine that went off every 30 minutes or so, despite us being a few floors up, this really kept us from having sufficient rest. I think I slept for a total of 4 hours or so, which after a day of driving and another day of driving ahead of us was not enough for us. Honestly, I don't understand why that machine was allowed near the hotel in the first place seeing the noise it made. On top of this, to add to our dissapointment, we had to pay 250DKK just to have our 2 dogs with us in the room (they wanted to charge us 2x 250DKK fee, can you believe that?). I think this price is crazy high and this could have been clearer from the start. Had we known, we would have looked for an alternative and probably actually slept.
