Greg location to break our journey from Akureyri. We also saw the northern lights as it’s remote.
Cleaner walking into the room without knocking on our last morning while my wife was in the bathroom. Really unacceptable.

Great rural location with easy access to ring road. Lots of parking. Staffed well in September, unlike many hotels which are not staffed at all ! Great bar and restaurant, although evening meal choices were limited.
nothing, which makes a pleasant change.

Everything, the location, the standard of the room and facilities. Staff make you feel a valued guest. Food was delicious, breakfast was just right.
Nothing at all.

Comfortable room, friendly staff, and excellent food. Bad weather meant that I didn't explore the area while staying there. In good weather the hotel has excellent views across the rolling countryside.

Everything was brand new and the room was big!
It was very expensive and in the bathroom there was a curtain instead of glass

The staff were so welcoming on arrival and departure. The breakfast was really tasty and had lots of different options. The room was comfortable and spacious with a great bathroom. Lovely to be able to use the common area hot tubs too.
Maybe would be better to improve the hot tub changing facilities / corridor to them to make it feel more like the rest of the hotel however this is minor.

We booked a one night stay at Hotel Laugarbakki for its location in breaking a couple of longer drives. The tired exterior gave way to a classy interior with quality amenities and friendly staff. The restaurant had quality food for dinner and breakfast and provided a relaxed atmosphere for the end of a days driving.

Great room and perfect Christmas buffet

Very reasonably priced, breakfast was good
The road to the hotel was pretty dark so I suggest to check in before it gets too dark

It was cold out when we arrived but the front desk staff warmly welcomed us. It was a great way to be received and set the tone for our whole stay. The room was very spacious and quiet. The hotel is in the middle of a huge field, virtually nothing around, so it was very quiet and peaceful. We did not use the jacuzzis but we enjoyed the comfy beds and the nice water pressure in the shower. The restaurant food was excellent-some of the best we had on the trip. There was spacious parking outside. There was a big variety of food for the breakfast.

Breakfast was good, and restaurant was good for dinner.
The hot tubs only had Luke warm water.
9.0
Very comfortable hotel with specious rooms. Good breakfast buffet and very nice staff. The hot tubs are nice but could have been warmer.
The bathroom had no explicit heating which was odd. And the hot tubs are located on the side facing the parking lot, wouldn't have hurt to put them in the back of the hotel. There is only one vegetarian option at the dinner menu.

Breakfast is great - selection and freshness is good. Staff is very considerate to place us in the family/suite type we reserved as we are a family of four and I wasn't sure if we successfully booked the suite. At least four of us are able to sleep well after a long day of travel (we checked in really late in this summer hour of Iceland that spoiled us to be able to sightsee longer hours into the night). Room is quiet and modern. Interior design is thoughtful, though exterior you may not be able to tell as I learned the buildings were originally school buildings, so exterior hasn't been all modernized yet. Heavily recommend if you are traveling through ring road and in the vicinity to stay for the night.
Once the hotel finishes it exterior renovation, it will match the quality of the hotel it aspires to be :).

very clean and nice. robes/hot tubs were a great perk!
the only complaint is that it is far but the seclusion is also cool in a way

The hot tub, spacious room and convenient location
The outside play area could be updated a bit for the kids (and the building a kick of paint, but it seems they were doing that.

Room size including bath room was good. We could place out the 2 big size baggages. The breakfast area was a bit busy, but the food was similar to other hotel's offer (similar size). The receptionist lady was very helpful and supportive with all of our questions.

Hot tubs outside. Staff was very helpful.
Bathroom shower was already clogged so staff had to come late evening to fix it as we had early morning check out.

Our room was very spacious, especially by Icelandic hotels standards. consisting of two areas. The room was freshly renovated, sleek and clean. Check-in took virtually no time at all. We had a delightful dinner - delicious, with a very friendly and prompt service.
The hotel is literally in the middle of nowhere, with hardly any sights around. When we arrived, the kid's bed wasn't made up, but this was rectified in 5 min. It can get crowded at breakfast time, especially if tourist groups are around

Breakfast. Not enough tables when 2 coach parties staying at Hotel. Also no hot food.
