Quick and easy check in and pleasant welcome

15 minute wait to be seated for breakfast , then further delay before order taken, and then before breakfast arrived. Not the fault of the staff, there were only three struggling to cope with a full dining room. Breakfast when it arrived was good.

Staff are very friendly and helpful - it is a very nice environment to stay in. And in a really interesting part of town.

Water pressure on the ground floor is fierce indeed - a warning notice in the bathroom might be an idea.

Very cute hotel situated about 15 mins walk from the centre of Norwich. We stayed in one of the rooms in the annex which was a good size, clean, quiet & comfortable. They were very accommodating in allowing us to have brunch rather than breakfast with our son who is at university here. Lots of parking.

We didn’t feel massively welcomed at brunch but just a minor niggle. Our room was right on the car park but this didn’t bother us at all as we weren’t there that long but I guess if you wanted a view you might be disappointed!

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were really helpful and accommodating with my dietary requirements.

The heating in the bedroom was overhead and it was noisier than expected even when we turned it off. Cavity wall insulation was being installed the day of our departure so it will need to be on even less.

Check in was quick and efficient and my room was changed without hesitation. Free parking outside the hotel and the room was bright and airy and clean.

Everything: I can't rate this hotel highly enough. It is a beautiful building in a secluded yet central location; the room was large, impeccably clean and well equipped; the food was fantastic and the staff team extremely friendly and helpful. I will most certainly return here.

The reception greeting was friendly and efficient. Particularly liked the bar area which had a nice atmosphere during the day for coffees and the bistro was very comfortable for evening food, great attentive staff and good food.

In the room I can only think of better lighting around the mirror and more comfortable pillows.

The decor is very home from home and inviting. The restaurant provides a great range of meals and has a great children’s menu. The breakfast is amazing. All staff were super helpful

The bar/restaurant area was a nice place to relax. The room was nice and warm and the lighting was good. The bed was comfortable and the room was big enough for two small suitcases to unpack, the wardrobe was big enough.

The shower had mould in between the tiles, with the grouting being black this disguises the mould but it is clearly visible. There were sounds of water going through pipes throughout our stay (assuming it is the heating network) which was disturbing. The alarm clock is quite bright and the curtains do not completely block out light at the edges.

The bed was super comfortable, the bar and dining area was beautiful and the staff were amazing. The lady on reception was so friendly and welcoming. It took about 20/25 minutes to walk into the centre which was great.

Tiny room. Microwaved scrambled egg for breakfast, having to pay for hot chocolate at breakfast (which wasn't nice and didn't actually drink it all). Inconsistent service, some people got 2 slices of toast, others 1 slice with their breakfast, toast cold, breakfast luke warm. Advised had to pay extra if wanted more toast.

the heating/cooling system in the room. when turned off through the night it made a noise like a switched on kettle for 2mins every 8mins. horrendous if you are a light sleeper. such a shame hence my score of 8 instead of 10

Excellent breakfast overall a lovely stay if only for the night will definitely be back. Nice being on ground floor a very comfortable room, with all we needed.

Room was very cold initially but the air con soon warmed it up. Aircon was noisy even when off.

I chose to stay at this hotel as it’s close to the UEA campus and I was visiting my son there. It was well situated and I was able to walk into the town centre within 10 minutes. The single room was very comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed a good breakfast and a delicious meal the night before.

I think the en-suite bathroom could do with a little updating, but it was perfectly adequate for a short overnight stay.

I enjoyed the comfiness of the bed, having two options for a high and low rise pillow is a great niche to have, and this hotel’s USP has definitely got to be the heat controller, you can be as cosy or as cool as you want - as long as your partner agrees haha! I know he enjoyed the shortbread biscuits :) A good location for those wanting to complete Run Norwich in the summer too - I stayed there last time aswell for my race, and the perfect warm up distance for strolling/jogging alongside the A11 into the city. For those who aren’t local this hotel is quite near Eaton Park, a lovely place with art deco vibes with the mint green dome and arches, you’ll find a lovely café there which does food also. If you’re lucky you may even see the local Heron, he fluctuates between there and the UEA lake I find! :D

My breakfast was great, for £5.95 my bacon and egg breakfast bap was delicious, a runny egg always pleases me. However, I looked at my partner’s breakfast and couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed for him. For £12.95 I would not say that the Vegan ‘full’ English is very substantial compared to the standard full English I saw. He said he could’ve done with some hash browns or something to go with, it almost bordered on a young guests size. But that was our only criticism. All in all a great stay.
