Shower over flowed. Massive cracks in tiles in bathroom. Toilet was very low down

Superb location. Staff were friendly and helpful. My partner is in a wheelchair, we were unpacking the car I was going to take our bags in shifts but a lovely man came out and offered to help and carried our bags in. On checking out the same man came to help, even offering to drive our car round to the front of the hotel. This is an incredibly helpful gesture. Our meals were delicious. Couldn’t fault any of the staff, service was exemplary.

Getting to it after dark was challenging due to it being access only and trying to get to the hotel through all the people. My recommendation for anyone else in the same situation is to contact the hotel just before you arrive so they can guide you round the back to park in the overflow. I was pulled over by the police for using the front access trying to get to the hotel car park even though I was under the impression that access only allows me to do so! The Ipswich constabulary are extremely rude and I was extremely upset by the time I arrived 😞

Supurb location right on the quay side with a selection of restaurants available close by (and in the hotel). Close to town centre but lovely quiet location. All the buildings in the area are converted from disused dockyard factories and warehouses. Lots of the original features have been retained making for a unique style. Nice sized rooms with good quality furniture and decoration.

There was no fridge in my room. Would have been nice to have a small fridge to keep water / drinks cold. No air conditioning and it was a particularly hot night. Room was clean but it was a bit grubby in places through wear over time. I was on a Booking.com discounted booking so it is likely that I was given one of the worst rooms. All this said - I would not be put off from staying here again.

Staff were fantastic, lovely spot on the Marina, the hotel itself very clean and great decor. Everyone was very welcoming, child and Pet friendly too. The parking and concierge service was great. Nice selection of eateries nearby.

Our room, Salthouse Double, 1st floor, I believe, had some signs of wear and tear, the shower temperature control was broken (quite obviously too) meaning we could only have quite hot showers, the sink drained so slowly we thought it was blocked, there was no ventilation at all for room or bathroom, only a window at the far end of the room. No air-conditioning or air-cooling at all, just one small desk fan and the window over the car park. The heat was unbearable, with no respite other than going to other areas of the hotel which were cooler or outside in the shade. We couldn't keep the windows open all night because the noise from the harbour (pleasant hubbub) and car park went on very late into the night. Granted it was particularly hot the weekend we stayed (around 30) but the whole summer has pretty much been the same so I feel they should have tackled this situation sooner, many rooms in the hotel do have air-conditioning but the lack of even basic ventilation or even portable air cooling in some rooms seems lazy and a bit tight on the hotels part. That and the hardness of the mattress made for a very uncomfortable nights sleep unfortunately. Having to leave the room often due to the heat was a shame as a big part of the reason we booked was for our daughter to experience spending time in a nice hotel.

some of the breakfast dishes could be more creative - bit boring and no veggie full English offered. mattress in bed was rather hard for our taste.
