Very slow food service, but quality ok

We loved the location, nice staff. Lovely breakfast. Room was quiet which was lovely.

I would say the only BIG negative was how uncomfortable the bed was, it wasn't even flat, it curled up at the end and I could feel springs. When you pay £185 a night I wouldn't expect an old uncomfortable mattress. The shower was powerful which was lovely but it didn't drain away so I stood in a shallow bath for my shower.

Beautiful views, enjoyed sitting on our balcony watching the boats/swans. Some very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent carvery.

The last day we went to breakfast, there was no hot buffet. Quite understand that it was due to a low number of guests that day, but a notice would have explained instead of the waitress having to repeat this to every guest. Also a little menu of what was available would have helped.

Great accommodation, staff and food. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice area, hotel - lively atmosphere.

Layout of hotel obviously reflects its age, but it wasnt the best in terms of general accessibility. some areas needed a bit of TLC, for example renewing some fixtures and furnishing, replacing lightbulbs, hooking up curtains properly

The room was lovely, airy and very clean except the mirrors above the bed needed a dust.

Communication between reception and the kitchen. I had previously emailed about my allergies of certain foodstuffs and upon arrival mentioned it again. Staff advised that it was on our booking and they were aware. Breakfast the following morning was disappointing as chef was unaware and the only food available to me was gluten free toast with a fried egg. Everything else held the risk of cross contamination. The 2nd morning was much better and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I had a full breakfast.

Friendly staff , comfortable clean hotel which is well placed for visiting Suffolk coast. Food good and service also. Well looked after.

We enjoyed everything, the staff were brilliant, landry was brilliant towards us and bent over backwards to make our stay extra special, table decorations etc, awesome place, will definitely go back

The easy access and location

Although we stayed over a bank holiday and it was very busy, all the staff were friendly and very efficient and a credit to the hotel.

the room was not what I would call a suit with view over car park and road, no phone in room, net curtain had seen better day.

The lack of air flowing through the rooms. Windows only opened a small and the fan was too small, not powerful enough. We travelled with two children and would have liked a family room or adjacent rooms.

the rooms where outstanding, the bed was very comfortable almost made me not want to leave the receptionist who check us in was absolutely wonderful as well very kind and friendly

We stayed in the king suite (2 adults & 2 kids), plenty of space and the location is great! Beautiful view over the quay. Comfortable bed & really friendly staff.

Hotel is a bit tired and dated in communal area and also room, but for the money paid was good value.
