Vraiment dommage pour un 4 étoiles que nous avons été réveillés par la lumière du jour, il y avait pourtant des rideaux très épais mais la lumière passe au dessus. La pomme de douche est fin de vie, l'eau ne coulait pas correctement, compliqué pour se rincer les cheveux (surtout pour les cheveux longs)

The bedroom we stayed in was well overdue for a make-over and in our opinion was well below the standard we expect from a 4 star hotel. We wonder how carefully the hotel Inspectors visit and really check the hotels before awarding such a high rating. We have stayed at many French hotels with many less stars which were much better appointed.

The room was very nice and I found the bed very comfortable

We were disappointed that parking was not free and this was not mentioned when we booked the hotel

The location was good.

Our room smelt of sewage, when we told the staff about this problem they told us they knew about this problem and it was always like this!! They didn't apologise or offer to move us to a new room. We ended up staying for a third night in Pornichet and moved to the Ibis as for nearly €200/night I expect a room that does not smell of sewage!

Lovely room with great dinner served in the tranquil garden the head chef has been there for 35 years and knows what he'sdoing as far as food is concerned delicious eat in the restaurant both nights of our stay

Some rooms overlook a busy street. Try to get a room overlooking the garden. There is no fridge in the room.

The rooms and the service in general is fantastic! It is a family owned hotel. All rooms have a different theme and are well designed.

I like this hotel in general. You will often see the onwers around.

The chamber was comfortable and the balcony was a bonus overlooking the garden ,and the people were pleasant and helpful

Great location for a work trip to St Nazaire, recommended to me by a customer as only 20 minutes out of town. Quiet spot (at least in October). A couple of blocks back from the beach so no view of the sea, but the room had a large balcony overlooking the Japanese style garden which was lovely. Very boutiquey decor, some time and money has gone into giving it a lovely cosy feel throughout. High quality restaurant, with prices to match. On second night after a run along the beachfront I felt like pizza rather than more high end food, and there was a really good pizza place 2 doors down from the hotel. Good sized private car park. Very friendly staff. Didn’t unfortunately get the chance to check out the spa / pool / hot tub

No hot food option at breakfast. I like to start the day with an omelette…. Breakfast buffet was ok, but I do miss the days when in France you used to get proper sized croissants in hotels rather then the mini ones…

The Location

Some of the decor in the hotel (woodwork) was chipped and scraped. The Windows in the bedroom were screwed shut so ventilation was poor. Although we did not need it there was no air conditioning which in the summer months is likely to be a problem. The sound proofing was very poor as we could hear the TVs and talking from other rooms.

No real door to toilet, meaning no privacy. Odd choice as there is space for a door, but the hotel chose to put a simple “beach door”. The hotel told us we had ordered the cheapest category of rooms, and that’s how they’re designed. Not what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Rooms are poorly isolated as well.

Quirky hotel. Lovely room. Restaurant shut Wednesdays so could not try it.

Pool was always locked for maintenance? session 10:00 in the morning so did not use.

le charme, la situation, la gentillesse

We love coming back to this charming family run hotel. Each room is different, their garden is beautiful. The staff never gets tired of explaining everything (turtles, french snooker and what to do in Pornichet). Thank you and we’re definitely coming back.

Too expensive- for the room-had to pay for the parking-which was very unusual- no door on bathroom- should not have go rid of the pool- restaurant too expensive as well
