The location was great- we were in the beach bungalows. We liked the gardens and how close we were to the beach. There was always enough water to swim (other beaches were tidal so became too shallow). The bed was incredibly comfortable with lovely bedding and pillows. The property was very quiet in the daytime. We loved the foot baths to clean our feet from sand!

If you’re travelling with young children, be aware there is a restaurant next door which has live music until 10.30- 11 most nights you can also hear music from other bars. This is not the fault of Scallywags and didn’t spoil our time there.

Awesome location right next to the beach and yet very quiet Lots of restaurant choices within 20 metres The staff are so friendly and helpful And not fogetting Gili Air - just a stunning island and so enjoyed the daily walk around the island each morning

Friday nights can be noisy with party night nearby with the music from a nearby bar (only on Friday nights and the rest of the week is quiet) The rubbish floating by each day and on the beach. Bali and Indonesia seriously need to get serious about this instead of just blaming Lombok and the government

the rubbish in the water and on the high tide mark was just heart breaking I know it was off season but staff maybe could do more to clean their patch out the front

Very relaxing place and good staff

A lot of bad smelling garbage at the neighbours hotel, and high music until 03:00 AM at the other side. Staff gave us a new room at sister hotel near to the harbours.

I was charged an extra night. The accomodation give me a bad service when paying.

Stunning and very quiet place with highly attentive staff. Everything was of perfect quality and we just enjoyed our week there. This is very cosy place located just on the beach with high levels of service and great eco kitchen in the restaurant.

the villa was large and clean and tidy

like all of Gili Air, the call to prayer is very loud at 4am but this is their culture and I am just a guest so it is important to go with the flow.

The room at Mango Retreat was immaculate and had every convenience, plus literally the most comfortable bed of our trip and HEAVENLY pillows. Great aircon, excellent storage and places to put your stuff. Lovely bathroom. Lovely little private garden and porch. Gorgeous little pool. It’s a bit of a walk from Scallywags HQ on the beach which we weren’t expecting but it was fine and probably made us spend more time on the beach than we would have. The main advantage to choosing one of the Scallywag’s many properties is that you can use the beach club and effectively have all the resources of a larger resort. Even though you’re really staying offsite. Mango retreat is also in easy access to a lot of family run warungs which we loved and enjoyed eating at. Whereas if you’re staying on the beach you’re a bit overwhelmed by more expensive touristy places. Big shoutout to the staff who are so delightful and go out of their way for you. We found them all so lovely, from the concierge to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and valued.

It’s a bit of a walk from the beach which we weren’t expecting. The promotion of the various properties is a bit misleading/confusing. You think you’re booking different rooms at the same property but really it’s different properties owned by the same organisation and you all get to use the beach club.

The location is very nice, the room and the pool are also very clean. Tha staff is friendly and will help you get around the island.

The bikes we rented were poor quality, there were no maintenance.

We felt super comfortable in the hotel, the bed was super comfortable and everything was very clean. The friendly staff helped us and informed us. It has a private beach and breakfast and food is at the tables they have on the beach. It has trees in case you want shade and perfect for children. We had a great time, we will be back!!!

excellent breakfast. lovely location overlooking the beach. it was great being so close to the centre and also to the beautiful snorkelling beach. it was also great to be next to the Zip restaurant who served up half price cocktails and yummy food

The rooms were expensive and quite small compared to what we were used to in Bali. unfortunately the beachfront complex is very close to the rubbish collection point and the smell was pretty bad most of the time. the staff were friendly enough but it was pretty clear that many of them were still learning the job. Im sure this will get sorted before we visit again.

Property is NOT on the beach as described, if we had of known this we would not have stayed at this property!

We choose this resort in order to be near the harbour. However the position you find on booking is the one of the reception, the rooms were 15 min walking from there. One of the private rooms had a big spider in it. They came as soon as possible to solve the problem.

Have stayed at Beach Club many times, great villas across from the beach. Nice outdoor area, manicured garden, quiet and relaxing. Hotel staff are great.

The property is only just reopening after Covid, restaurant staff looked to be not yet in the swing of things. I couldn’t get any service from the beach, so gave up. Food was very average and neighboring places are more appetizing. There was a lot of rubbish on the beach and in the water, this used to be a great swimming location, but looks like the island rubbish is being stored or moved from next door (it smells).
