Our 2 adult daughters and their families stayed for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend for a family event. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Flawlessly clean, well-appointed with plenty of room for family to gather while the second floor large enough to allow privacy.

The greatest thing about this house is the location. It is steps away from a hidden gem playground that is all over the Asheville area mommy blogs and forums. It is called Robert lake park and it’s a magical hidden playground inside the montreat community. There are several mountain creeks running through this playground, a Gaga ball pit, a gazebo, shaded tree cover, swings and traditional play equipment. This is the perfect place for a family to stay when they need to let the kids roam and play to get energy out. The open air porch and screened porch are where you will spend all of your time. There is plenty of seating for big group dinners. The kitchen is great for cooking. We stay here every single year. We are so grateful that this perfect mountain house exists!

Wow, what a wonderful and comfortable home in an ideal location! The kitchen has been recently renovated and is fully equipped with everything you need. We especially enjoyed sitting on the huge deck, enjoying the outdoors and listening to the creek across the street. Highly recommend this home.

We have stayed in this house every summer for years. It feels like a home away from home. The host, Margaret, is incredible! The house is so comfy and perfect for our family. The absolute best thing about this house is the location across the street from a playground, creek, gaga ball arena, and tennis court. The screened porch, modern kitchen, and multiple sitting areas for socializing are also a plus.

Perfect location in Montreat. Well equipped house with plenty of room. We had 2 adults and 5 kids and more than enough room for a great week stay. The porches are amazing, and the location allows kids total independence in Montreat with easy access to park, creek, tennnis, Huckleberry, lake, Lookout trail, etc.

We love Park Place and visit every year! It is the perfect mountain getaway. The location is incredible especially for our active children who love walking a few steps to the magical mountain playground. We love long nights sitting on the screened porch and listening to the creek while enjoying a book. The kitchen has all the comforts of home and the WiFi is fast enough for remote work.

We really enjoy the location of Park Place because the children can so easily access clubs, the creek and the tennis courts. The house is very well appointed with new furniture and bathrooms. The kitchen is well stocked with condiments too.

Awesome place!
We have stayed in a couple of dozen vacation rental homes over there years. This home was probably thé best one we have stayed in! Beautiful house very well maintained and perfectly furnished down to every detail! The location is also perfect! Home is in an idealistic setting across from a cute community park and babbling stream which you can hear from the screened porch! The whole experience was just perfect! Would highly recommend and we would definitely stay here again! Montreat is now one of the top places we have visited! Great hiking and gorgeous setting!

Fabulous location
The house was perfect for the 8 of us. Cozy seating, gas fireplace enhanced the reliable heating system, incredibly wwll stocked kitchen, comfy beds and a chiminea on the deck.
The park across the street was perfect for entertaining our 2 toddlers.
Close to Black Mountain, lots of yummy restaurants. Not far from Asheville and many hiking options nearby.

Such a peaceful retreat
We just loved our stay in Montreat - so peaceful being in the mountains - and yet surrounded by so many interesting, fun and active things to do. The house was great with probably the most well equipped kitchen rental kitchen I've had. The owners were very responsive, helpful and flexible. All in all, a great vacation!

Absolutely perfect!
Our family and a few of my son's college friends made Park Place our home for a long weekend to celebrate his 20th birthday and I can't say enough wonderful things. The home is meticulously clean, updated, spacious, comfortable and in the perfect location to get out and live the outdoor/Montreat life (so much to do!), while also offering peace and quiet and lovely spaces to relax at the house. If you decide to cook, rather than take out or venture into quaint Black Mountain, Park Place has everything you need. We are grateful to have been able to spend time there and look forward to another visit. Go Terriers! :)

Could not have been better!
My 4 siblings and their spouses stayed here for a long weekend gathering to celebrate and commemorate our Mom who died a few months ago. The property is spacious, welcoming, well-maintained and comfortable. Margaret is a great communicator- the check-in and check-out processes were straightforward, and we had no questions or problems. All of the beds/sleeping spaces were great. We especially enjoyed the 2 outdoor spaces, and their easy access from outdoors. There was abundant space to be all together indoors or out, as well as space for someone to get off alone (my brother in law watching a football game on Saturday afternoon). Although our group was all adults, the location would be especially appealing for families with kids given its proximity to Robert Lake Park and the playground. Those who were up for a strenuous hike did so on Lookout, and everyone was able to join in a walk around Lake Susan. Several fun dinners in Black Mountain as well as takeout meals at Park Place. We are planning an annual get-together and this property will be our #1 choice.

Excellent Cabin Retreat
The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed for a getaway weekend. The location of the cabin to local trails was the best part. We walked to the end of the neighborhood to reach a trail for lookout mountain. Really can’t beat that.

Perfect for families
The home was spacious, comfortable and a great central location in Montreat. The house was well stocked and updated. The porches were so nice for gatherings or just reading your book. The two downstairs sitting areas were nice to have for adults and kids. Highly recommended Park Place.

Best of Montreat
We visit this house year after year. It never disappoints. You can tell that the owners put a lot of love into the home, so it makes us feel very comfortable when we stay. The location across from a beautiful playground is perfect! Black Mountain gets better each year with the addition of more coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. We love it here!

Enjoyed the surrounding area and proximity to Asheville and other locations for activities: white water rafting, hiking, horseback riding, golf, mini golf and more. Didn’t take advantage of community amenities. Very comfortable and enjoyable vacation. The city of Black Mountain is quaint.

Excellent Getaway
I booked this cabin for my brother's bachelor Weekend. The house was extremely easy to reach from the freeway and it only took about 30 minutes to reach Asheville. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed and everything was extremely clean. I highly recommend this house for a large party of friends and family!

Margaret’s home is very comfortable and clean. It’s decorated with a casual and warm style that exudes the NC lifestyle. Plenty of space for family and kids loved the park so close and hiking just a quick walk away. Excellent communication throughout the stay also made it easy... thank you !

We had a great stay! The property was perfect for us. Lots of places for our family to spread out and relax. Hiking, tennis, and playground right outside the front door. State Park trails within minutes of the property. We look forward returning again.

Picture Perfect
The Park Place home in Montreat was a delight that surpassed our expectations. The home was cozy, campy, and charming. With three common areas we were able to have a new place to gather each morning or evening. The appliance and accessories in the kitchen allowed us to cook our favorite meals. Montreat is so beautiful, it is surreal. We hope to return someday, and hope to stay in this home again.

Celebrating a Milestone Birthday
My family loves Park Place in Montreat. When it was time to plan a special birthday there was no other place we all wanted to be. For us, it's the comfort of the house and location to the playground across the street that makes it perfect. We spend a lot of time in the creek and on the tennis courts next to it. The house has everything we need to cook together in the gourmet kitchen and on this trip we also enjoyed the chiminea for several nights. The upstairs porch is perfect for reading, talking and napping!
Finally, having a host like Margaret makes for a secure feeling that with her attention to detail, everything will be in order and that means a lot. While this was the 2nd time renting Park Place- it won't be the last. We look forward to making more memories there.

Peaceful retreat in Montreat
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Montreat home. While it was close to the center of the Montreat amenities, it was also peaceful and quiet. The house is a great blend of charming elements of the original home with modern updates and luxuries. The heated master bathroom tile was particularly a hit. The upstairs screened deck was amazing -- we could have lived on the deck for the weekend on its own.
This location, while peaceful and secluded, is also convenient to restaurants and groceries in Black Mountain.
This is definitely on our list of places to return soon!

Nice place
Owner is very nice and responsive. Very cute older house. Plumbing isn't great but what you would expect in an older home. Location was very nice. It was a pain to have to bring sheets and towels. Our car is already loaded with kids and luggage and having to bring extra baggage was a challenge. Overall very good experience.
