Looks beautiful from a distance
The furnishings in the villas were cheap and not consistent with the property theme, moldy rooms, shower didn’t work, light fixture broken in bathroom and not fixed
5.0

5 star breakfast for free. Best ever
2.0
Quite unique with elements of the property carefully considered
The attention to detail was completely lacking - broken lights, unusable pool, a toilet just lying to one side in view of the ‘restaurant’ broken chairs lying around in the grounds. Broken unusable bikes. It really wouldn’t take an enormous effort to make this place very acceptable
1.0
The hacienda is located in a park with beautiful old trees but you can hear the highway. There is a small (for max. 5 people) but nice and clean swimming pool. The rooms were clean.
We did not get the "villa" -the small vacation home, for our family that we booked. Supposedly it was double booked due to an error in the system. Instead, we got a room with a double bed in the main house and a bungalow with two double beds. These two rooms were very far apart. So our family could not stay together. We had also planned to cook and eat together - a kitchen was promised. This kitchen was not available - there were no cooking facilities, no water heater or kettle, no pots and no dishes. So we had to drive (15 min drive) to town every night for dinner.
All of this might have been alleviated if the Hacienda had been as beautiful as it looks on the photos and as other reviews claim. In fact, the house is not an original colonial-style mansion from the 1700s but was rebuilt after the model of one in 2012 (it’s concrete). Apart from the museum rooms, it is decorated in poor taste with cheap materials (i.e. fake “wood” on doors and furniture) and many of the elements don’t work or aren’t as described. In one of our rooms, there was no WiFi, the bathtub didn’t work and in the other the personal "kitchen" had no stove, kettle or any other equipment you might normally expect to find in a kitchen.
The house is decorated with bizarre paintings and there are bronze statues everywhere depicting either the current owner or naked women, or both together. There is no service at the bar or anywhere apart from the reception, and the restaurant (where we went for breakfast) is quite frankly overpriced.

It was a beautiful, typical hacienda. We stayed in the independent, spacious villas. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made an exception and served us a late dinner when we first arrived. My city mouse mother in low is in love with that place! 😃 Good location to go to the ruins and cenotes, if you have a car.
The restaurant opens at 7am, we were there sharp for an early breakfast to go to Chichen Itzá. The staff arrived at 7.30 and attended us at 8am.

absolutely stunninging location and big villa/room to live ,small houses situated in a large park near a beautifully restored Hacienda ,really worth the money,15 mins from city centre
5.0
The setting is so nice and romantic. The pool is really nice. Rooms look like old hacienda rooms, but they have nice air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Nothing in particular. The bathrooms are a bit outdated but on the other hand if they were new you wouldn’t feel you are on an old hacienda.

A truly unique property!!! The grounds of this historic hacienda are exquisite with a museum, restaurant, chapel and an incredible swimming pool! Located just a short 5 minute drive from the center of Valladolid. The property is gated and quite. The staff was very friendly and our two bedroom suite was very clean with everything we needed. I highly recommend this property.

Spacious grounds, interesting structures
No service, minimal amenities at rooms

Amazing place! A super cool renovated hacienda with a sense of humor.
No coffee maker in the room

Rooms are very basic for the money. There's just a bed and so it's not the sort of room you want to spend any time in. We stayed in another hotel in town that was much nicer and a third of the price. There were dead bugs on our bed - felt like the place was not particularly clean. We thought the rooms would be within the main hacienda but they are separate and have no view.
4.5
The house and grounds are both magnificent and tranquil! You truly get the sense that you are stepping back in time and the unfettered access to the entire house and grounds is amazing -- imagine exploring a 400 year old castle-like hacienda on your own through a music room, fully set dining rooms, spire stone stairways, and armor standing at attention over guns and hides of animal conquests on the walls. The whole house was open at night with the evening air passing through doors and windows with the evening air. (Air conditioning was available in our bedroom.) There is no paid breakfast and no food available on site after hours, however the paid breakfast was of reasonable cost and was both well prepared and attractively presented in a beautiful airy setting in the historic carriage house on the property. While we did not swim, the pool is beautiful with a base and statue at the center of it's garden-like setting. In the evening we drove a short 5-10 minute drive into the heart of Valladolid to eat supper and explore before returning and going to bed for the night. The beds were clean and comfortable.
In the light of day we enjoyed walking around the grounds, exploring the chapel that sits apart from the main house and the garden-like setting of the expansive grounds. It's truly unlike any traditional hotel setting you will find.
I would also have enjoyed information about the history of the property on site. We learned it was the home of a pirate, sometimes priest, and his wife and that they were killed when enemies came hunting for their gold (?), however we don't know where they died. There is apparently a historical account in Spanish. There is a statue in their likeness in the garden in the rear of the home.
After our late check in we were completely alone aside from security on the property. With no phone in the room, and not another soul staying at the property for the night, we felt completely alone, for better or worse! One must guard their thoughts against notions of such a space being haunted! If you wish to be away from it all this is the place for you. If you wish to be pampered and attended to, chose another locale. :)

Amazing historical hacienda with colorful villa's, pool, garden with iguana's, and a museum/castle. Best to go by car to visit Valladolid and Chichén Itza in the morning. We loved it here, it's dreamy!

Everything, amazing place, great staff, good little restaurant
Missing WI Fi as I was in a room call Cava and for the thickness of the walls, the signal was very bad

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Loved hearing the birds in the morning. The museum in the castle was fun to walk through on the way to and from our rooms. Nice area around the pool for our group of 10 to gather.
The rooms could have been cleaner- a used contact lens was on the bedside table, a stray bobby pin on the floor. I would have liked glasses in the rooms, hair dryers and a lock box. Those are things that I expect in a high end hotel. They did bring us glasses when we said we had a bottle of wine and needed glasses. A continental breakfast was included of a little fruit, a little yogurt with a little granola and coffee. You could order eggs to supplement for an extra fee. Supposedly they opened at 8AM. They were there the first day but the second day when we needed to leave to catch a flight, there wasn't anyone there at 8:15 so we had to leave without any breakfast.

beautiful, charm filled property. the staff were very helpful and friendly.
not all the rooms are alike. we had a night in the “cave” room next to the ancient wine cellar which I can’t recommend, but were able to switch for our second night to a beautiful room!

We only stayed for two nights and mostly to explore Maya ruins in the region so we did not spend much time on the property, but it was an exceptional experience to spend a night someplace that has 442 years of history on the property.
Our villa was spacious with a large kitchen and eating area, but we found the complete lack of bowls, plates, utensils, cups, cleaning supplies, paper products, or other items that guests could find useful surprising and disappointing. The place was very clean, but had a musty smell. Additionally, we found a scorpion in clothes left on the floor in one room and a large spider in unpacked items in the other bedroom. Lastly, our first night was peaceful and restful. The second night the hosted event at the hacienda had loud music until about 2am that kept some of the family awake.
4.5
Profound serenity, beautiful surroundings and a castle like main building were charming and magical. staff is very pleasant and helpful. good Internet, lots of space in the villa.
the location is a bit tricky to find.

This place is amazing, we were 2 of maybe 4 to 6 guests, restaurant on site with good food. I'll definitely go back!

The staff : friendly and professional.
We did not like anything!
There were dead insects in our room and shower.
A cockroach in the bathroom sink. The floors were dirty.
The kitchen was not equipped (despite being advertised as such). Not a single cup or glass. The sink was dirty. It really was awful.
We were kindly offered a free breakfast by the manager to compensate for the dirtiness of the room: but when breakfast was served there were worms in our toast ! I stopped eating immediately but my husband had already eaten and he got sick the same day.
The hacienda is NOT FIT to receive guests. It is run down, dirty and empty (we were the only guests there, making it very strange and uncomfortable, with all lights out on the property). The owners need to invest in staff, amenities, cleaning, and fresh food to claim itself as a running hotel.

The best place to stay when you visit valladolid or chichen itza. 40 mins from the pyramid and 8 mins from downtown. Unique place to stay.

The design of the place was amazing. Looks like a castle and the museum was stunning. Its an excelent place to take photos.
They wifi don't work. They don't have enough towels to all the rooms. The restaurant menu and cook needs to improve and they don't sell alcohol.
