This is an old building that has been renovated. We got a room on the last floor, this was very nice, with 2 bedrooms, living room, big, everything new, very clean, nice bathroom. 5min from Aquamagis, the main reason for our trip to the town, some restaurants close by.

The assortment of breakfast was ok, but it could be improved a little bit. It was only one flavor of juice, one type of bread.

The price.

Lounge, bistro and bar were closed. According to staff this was a covid19 measure, but this is unconvincing, since the breakfast buffet was open and restaurants and bars no longer need to close officially. This meant my son and I were limited to staying in our room or in a tiny ‘mini bar’ which was a few uncomfortable chairs and a fridge, which, if it had been used by guests, would have meant them not keeping a safe distance. There is nothing to do in Plettenberg and our twin room was small with a small desk and desk chair, and no other comforts. So we decided to leave for home a day earlier. Staff were decent, and charged us only the one night that we did spend there. Plus the breakfast, which was very modest, and not worth the 8 euro addition. Other reviewers seem to be very impressed with the offer of scrambled eggs, but that’s nothing special, is it? Booking.com review marks are usually two points too high; this one is an actual 6 out of 10: acceptable, but nothing more.
