I didn’t like that the bathroom leaked water

Hotel staff are the real assets at this hotel, friendly approachable and very apologetic about the many faults at this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast options varied and cooked well. Although you had to go to breakfast early to get hot food.... anytime after 10am and the food was lukewarm.

The wifi did not work when the tv was off.... the water frequently refused to heat up and I had to make do with cold showers. 1 towel was provided in the bathroom and no bath mat, increasing the risk of a slip and/or fall stepping out of the bath. The bathroom hadn't had a deep clean in years and there was ingrained dirt around the bath edges The plates and glasses in the restaurant were chipped with water marks, clearly old and in need of replacement. The hotel refused to accept the price quoted by booking.com insisting that it was "too low" and insisted on an extra £200+ or I would have to find alternative accommodation. I will be raising a separate complaint about this.

The location was very nice and the lady in the restaurant was lovely.

The hotel is not well maintained and things are broken or chipped, old looking and just not nice for the price you are paying for this hotel. The reception staffs are not very helpful and management has changed from when I first booked the hotel back in 2019 for the worse. I would only recommend this hotel for the location.

Great location, easy to get around the area. The room is very spacious. Staff are professional and courteous (special mention to Michael who is very friendly and helpful). Breakfast is fair, but not remarkable. Restaurant staff are professional and helpful

(Disclaimer: This isn't against the front-end staff but against the Hotel Management who I think are doing a terrible job at running the hotel) 1. WiFi - For some reason (which I struggle to understand), the WiFi ONLY WORKS WHEN THE TV IS ON !!!. I found this very strange. This is such a stupid setup which means that one has to leave their TV ON at all times in order to have access to the Internet 2. Bed - The mattress is quite soft. I know this comes down to personal preference, but as someone who prefers firm beds (and with a bad back) I found sleeping extremely uncomfortable 3. Facilities are in dire need of maintenance and upgrade - Condensation from refrigerator was dripping pool of water unto the bedroom floor. Wardrobe door is need of repair and difficult to draw close. There was issue with bathroom Hot water (but this was fixed after I brought it to the attention of staff). Room coffee station had no tea spoon (was resolved after I reported this to the staff). Bath tub glass pane shield has the hinges all rusty!!. Toilet seat cover was damaged.

The staff were superlative, rooms extremely comfortable, the breakfast and other meals all very good. I felt like I was at a home away from home!

I have no negative comments at all.
