Beautiful old building from the outside

Loads of dust in the room. I had to air it out for hours before it felt vaguely habitable. Lots of dust in the room - not on the main sides but everywhere else. There are some beautiful older features but unfortunately these are mixed in with a fair amount of outdated 1970s furnishings. The bathrooms smell and the water is not good for showering. I didn't feel comfortable staying here so left earlier.

It's very close to the beach and to the supermarket.

The room and house itself was very cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Natalia (the lady who met us) was very friendly and helpful. Beach is just a minute away and we had ocean view from our room. The breakfast was amazing!

As it is an old house, and by the seafront, the smell from the drain in the bathroom was a bit strong, especially during the rainy days. Just to be prepared

Lovely room with beautiful furniture and a great view of the bay of seixal. It is only 5 minutes (or less) to the black sand beach and a small supermarket is also very close. If you get up at sunrise you can go swimming in the morning sun, before you come back for breakfast. The price for this accommodation is also great!

Location was good , walking diatance to the beach and to the natural swimming pool in Seixal. Hosting lady was kind and helpful. House has an old rustic style.

Could be more lighting in the barhroom. The shower cabine door couls not be properly closed because it was broken.

You dont really feel welcome in this house! Its was not at all as previously described: rooms to share stayed in the dark (library, kitchen, salon), copious breakfast but not good (not event fruit), very clean room but heavy smell from the sink, no table to enjoy garden or terrace ( which would have been great)

Perfect location, easy acces everyvere (beach, shop, reataurant), friendly host and delicious breakfast.

The location of the accommodation ,so close to the beach. The house itself ,so different to regular accommodation. Natalya was so helpful. The fact that very few tourists stay in Seixal. The beach was deserted at night and early in the morning.

It was interesting experience to stay at the local house, explore typical household facilities. Natalia welcomed us very kindly with a nice complimentary present. The house is very close to the amazing Seixal beach, parking is nearby.

Wonderful

The casa looks like a museum. It is very well decorated. We really appreciated the place and the bottle of wine 😀. It is very close to the black sand beach. The breakfast was very good. It is a very good value for the price. Thanks a lot.

We have to wait around 2 minutes to have hot water and the water pressure was low in the shower. But it was not a problem to get a hot shower.

The village of Seixal is in a splendid location, it is quiet, not overrun by tourists and it has one of the only real beaches of Madeira (black sand, of course). When the waves are too big you can dip into the piscina naturais instead. The Casa das Videiras is quaint, with a lot of old-fashioned decoration, a LOT of common space (library, terrace, TV-corner, lounge, even a chapel!). The lady who takes care of it (Natalia, I believe) is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is plentiful, with yoghurt, cereals, bread, jam, cured meats, cheese,... in abundance.

There was a "For Sale" sign up, so maybe you need to hurry to enjoy it while it lasts! Restaurant facilities in Seixal are very limited, with only the Solmar nearby (luckily it is nice and friendly).

This place is like an exotic museum. Just fantastic. Also we could hear the ocean while being in bed. Loved it.

- not accessible directly by car (walk 5mins) - all guest had breakfast at the same time so not easy to find confortable places

Uncomplicated, very polite and courteous, very established colonial house with a personal servant making everything possible.

A dirty sweaty hiker like me felt a bit out of place in a beautiful villa like this. I probably wasn't the typical client.
