Cosy and friendly. Convenient location with free car parking opposite the property. Very comfortable bed. Well-cooked breakfast served with a smile. Quiet seating area at the rear of the property to enjoy a sundowner.

Lovely out of the way pub and rooms

Welcome! Wasn’t welcomed at all, told the Landlord wasn’t there and he didn’t know if we had a twin or a double room! Was handed a key but not told where it was or where we had to go. We were rescued by a lovely young lady who showed us to our room and apologised immensely

Poor location. No chef no good so left without staying- hostile reception staff couldn’t be bothered to explain anything it was a customer who did.

Lovely little pub only a stones throw from the channel ports or Deal town and seafront. In a tiny village that feels miles from anywhere! Clean, comfortable and modern room with en suite shower. Tea (Yorkshire Tea!) Coffee making facilities. Even a good TV!

Unfortunately the pub wasn’t offering meals when I visited. Hopefully this is just a temporary change. I was warned beforehand which was useful

Traveling to France next morning. It gave us a break after driving from North of England

Our room was very clean, well appointed, with a very comfortable bed, great bedding. Tea ,coffee and biscuits in room all good. Large and well cooked breakfast . Friendly host. Happily stay again.

Accommodation was comfortable, clean, and tidy. Food options for dinner and breakfast were good.

Despite confirmation of bookings for evening meals and breakfasts via Booking.com app chat, there was no record or bookings made for either of our stays. Fortunately able to be fitted in.

A well presented breakfast. Suffice to to keep us going for most of the day.

We were able to check in quickly and hassle free. The room was clean and well thought out.

The room was advertised as having a view, the view was of the car park ? The food was not up to standard, I ordered the steak medium but in actual fact it was rare, chewy and not pleasant. All the food including the breakfast tasted as if it could well have been cooked in dirty oil? In the room despite many attempts and reading the room manual we was unable to get the TV to work. We did not get any sleep as in the room just above the main door is a green fire exit light, this illuminates the room, also a rather large digital clock which again radiates light and also right above the bed a smoke detector that flashes. The bed looked like a double but in fact was to singles pushed together, admittedly it had a mattress topper but still made for a rather uncomfortable night.

ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL , AND WERE ALWAYS READY TO SPEAK WITH YOU . OUR ROOM NO.3 WAS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED AND A VERY GOOD SIZE , A PLEASURE TO STAY IN . BREAKFAST FOOD WAS FRESHLY COOKED AND A GREAT SELECTION . EVENING FOOD MENU HAD A LARGE SELECTION AND WAS VERY TASTY , ALL FRESHLY COOKED FOOD . PUB HAS A VIBRANT ATMOSPHERE AND IS FULL EVERY NIGHT .

TO BE HONEST I DO NOT THINK THERE WAS ANYTHING THAT I DID NOT LIKE AT ALL . BEING VERY PICKY A COUPLE OF THE DISHES ON THE MENU WERE NOT AVAILABLE ONE NIGHT BUT THAT WAS DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO SOURCE THE INGREDIENTS .

Rooms are modern and comfortable with nice touches that make a big difference. Things like a wireless charger and USB chargers beside the bed and smart tv just make things easier and more comfortable. Lovely country views from the room and the most relaxing shower. Lovely country pub full of friendly locals underneath, serving top quality pub grub and possibly the best cooked breakfast I've ever eaten!

Excellent classic English pub. Our room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The evening meal and breakfast were superb.
