Nimrod, Hortensia and the boys were such fantastic hosts - really embodying the general vibe of the island. the room (if a little basic) had everything you could want, the garden is beautiful and the terrace was a great place to chill with a breeze and the sun on your face. bit of a walk to any beaches but they can sort you a bike straightaway. we hope to be back!

Everything was just unbelievable awesome. From views from the room, the room equipment to hospitality of the host family. We felt like the part of the family for the whole stay. They provided us a lot of useful info at the begining and there was also option to rent motorcycle at the place. If you seek peace and silence in the middle of the carribean we really recommend to visit Providencia and especially to stay at this place. You won’t regret a day!

there was no wifi (due to hurricane two years ago), but it was not a problem at all, as we had mobile internet and it was nice to be offline sometimes in this carribean paradise. :)

The staff was very helpful and made you feel like home.

The host family was wonderful and Bertons place was definitely our best stay during our so far 6-week Colombia trip. We got help for everything. We were suggested a wonderful private boat tour, helped with organizing a golf cart and even the host drove me there to pick it up and drop it off. The room was always clean and all was even better than expected. Providencia is the place if you look for a calm, relaxing escape with wonderfully friendly people everywhere. Thanks for everything!

I had a great stay at Berton‘s place. The host family is super nice and helpful. The apartment including kitchen is fully equipped and everything is very clean. I could rent the scooter right at the place which was convenient.

There is no wifi at the posada, although this is a good opportunity to enjoy some relaxing days offline :)

Lovely personnel! Helped us really good to discover the island the best way! You can rent scooters there and they even made a reservation for a very nice restaurant for us. The room is huge and you have your own kitchen! Definitely would recommend staying here!

There wasn't wifi... but because of the hurricane 3 years ago nobody has wifi there anymore. She told us they were definitely working on that!

The location is a bit far for food and beaches but it's not bad for provendencia

The apartment is very simple but functional

The hostel is on the street, so of course purely from the view not very special

The owners are very nice. The view on the garden from tje private terrace, siping a cup of coffee is perfect. The room is spacious, and contains all that is needed. I highly recommend staying there. I tried to book a tour myself with a guide directly and I only ended up losing a lot of time as the guides never showed up. Twice. Avoid the hassle and problems and book everything through Berton's.

Everything was great really.

The owners were incredibly helpful and kind. They couldn't do enough for us and made us feel super welcome. They helped us with tours and transportation as well as tips on where to eat. The room was great and fully equipped plus the communal varanda was fantastic to relax on and watch the sunset.

The house is perfect for a stay in Providencia. You have everything you need (big kitchen, A.C, big garden with palm trees, hamac)... The house is pretty close to the beach Fresh water bay, only 10 min walking. Hortensia and all her family were so nice with me and helped me with everything: to rent a bike, book tours and guides... I highly recommend this house !

Warm initial welcome from the male host and warm goodbye by the female host at end. good bed and overall quality of room, cold fridge, some utensils. Clean and cleaned daily. They let me borrow some WiFi time via one of their mobile phones when I arrived (no WiFi at any other time in the property - read negatives). Not far from best beaches and main "tourist" area. (Providencia is very wild in all senses with virtually no tourist infrastructure i.e no public bus, outside the port/town area scarcely a few tiny roadside stores you have to be lucky to find by chance to buy water and food) So if you're coming to an accommodation like this instead of a bigger hotel or hostel, be prepared to be given the keys to a room and then have to work out and do everything by yourself. Maybe they want to give you your independence purposely. I'd have liked more guidance personally. Providencia is a million times more isolated and less developed than San Andres, but the locals want it that way and that's probably why you want to visit. You just might receive more resources, guidance and contact in other accommodations.

It's not a hostel or even really a hotel. Rooms within area of family property, across the garden, separately. No WiFi at any point during stay. No assistance/contact with owners after initial warm welcome until payment on leaving, air conditioning didn't work, everything is cheap plastic in bathroom (despite good quality of bedroom overall), weak shower water pressure. Expensive for what it is, even in expensive Providencia (30us per night)

The two bed house was perfect for a young family of four. The garden, the hammocks , the kitchen etc everything was perfect. If there was a sea view I would give this property a 11 out of 10. Nevertheless the lush green surroundings are beautiful. We rented a mule (golf buggy) for the duration of our stay so proximity to beaches was not an issue.

Nothing! The fact that there was no WiFi during our stay meant we couldn't easily change our flight dates because we wanted to stay longer!!!
