The breakfast is a hearty mix of middle-European (the proprietor is German) and Turkish dishes delivered to tables which are set on a wooden platform in the garden next to the kitchen. The rooms, which likewise open onto the garden, form a quadrangle that seem to have begun as a religious cloister in the Middle Ages. Certainly, a new arrival in the street could not imagine so much living space behind the cloister's outer wall, before an employee comes to unlock the door and guests are admitted into the courtyard. The rooms within are spacious enough for both a couch and a writing desk, along with a comfortable king-size bed. Outside the bedroom door to the garden one finds a table and chairs for those who smoke or imbibe, or else want to gaze at the stars overhead. Located at the edge of town, this boutique hotel is barely 200 m from the cable cars that in daylight whisk tourists up to the ancient Greek acropolis of Pergamon, with its remnants of one of the ancient world's greatest libraries and a huge stone theatre, each of which looms over the modern city of Bergama and its wide valley set between a range of low mountains.

The swimming pool is very small, tucked into a corner near a passageway connecting the garden rooms with an interior compound. And while every effort has been made to preserve the historic character of the space, the wooden floors of the rooms and trestle walkways located on the second storey create quite a clatter for guests sleeping in the ground-floor rooms.

CAUTION false advertising. There is no gym (main reason for my booking). Not sure what else is false on their ads. Got downgraded because I travel alone (still paid the full price), never was the room 50m², the "view" was from below the staircase, many spots in the room were dirty.

Os funcionários eram muito atenciosos, prestáveis e simpáticos. Quarto limpo, confortável e muito bem decorado. Terraço exterior muito acolhedor, podem beber ou comer lá. Bastante variedade e oferta de comida e bebida. Pequeno almoço com produtos típicos, mas óptimos! Tudo muito saboroso. Pessoas com muita atenção ao detalhe e a fazer de tudo para estarmos confortáveis. Com certeza iremos aconselhar este hotel. Foi perfeito! Muito obrigada 🤩

Comfortable room and beds. Great luxurious shower. Beds were medium firm high quality foam mattress. There was seating on the porch outside. Breakfast was good.

The room was set up for two even though we had booked for three. Only two small bottles of water provided. We were able to bring water in from outside but they don’t allow any other outside food or beverages even though we had a private area outside our room. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful.

We didn’t feel welcome. First question when entering the entry door was what ‘room number’, instead of ‘welcome’. After payment, they tell you that there is no such thing as your private balcony and everything you eat or drink outside your room must be from the restaurant. When you ask about it, the owner comes angry to you. Wifi only works through a Turkish mobile number (reception will use their mobile number). Camera’s everywhere, also directed at your face at the swimming pool. If taking a swim, staff comes after a minute to check. Hotel looks nice, but feels like prison. Never again.
