At check in, I was met by a very friendly and helpful woman (manager I assumed). Check in was very easy. Bar facilities were very good. I ate at the hotel all 4 nights, and the menu choice & quality of meals was excellent. Room very basic, but had everything I required and the bed was clean & comfortable. Overall experience 11/10, would definitely return and recommend.

The hotel was in a favourable location in Great Western Road, an area I know well from my student days. The staff were friendly and efficient although one often had to go through to the bar for reception service. Our room was excellent, with a lovely large window affording views over Great Western Road.

The hotel does not have a lift and as we had been allocated a second floor room this occasioned a little difficulty as we both had heavy suitcases. Due to the lack of on-site parking owing to on-going building work at the hotel, we were obliged to find parking in adjacent streets. We got a surprise when we checked out because the lady at reception claimed that our payment to booking.com had been declined even though the payment had been taken by the agency on 24 September and appeared in my bank statement on 26 September. However, this was eventually resolved.

No one to greet you. No lift to the top floor. A bit basic
