it is always our first point of call when we get off the Spirit of Tasmania and our last call the night before we leave again..Paul and Brendan are the most wonderful and friendliest hosts and love to chat, which is amazing. The breakfasts are to die for, nothing is too much hassle for these 2. Highly recommend the beds and pillows and we sleep so well when we are here.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. A stunning property with gorgeous bedrooms. We had a great nights sleep in a huge four poster bed. The breakfast menu offered a great selection . We opted for poached eggs which were cooked to perfection. The hosts, Paul and Brendan, were so welcoming and friendly. We wish them continued success with their business.

Beautiful Heritage Hotel built in 1899. Lovely furnishings / beautifully appointed . Common lounge which was so comfortable with a great bookcase and offer of a Sherry or Port . Lovely breakfast cooked to order . Very convenient to town . Ambiance ++ Owners were charming .

Not pristine as you would expect in such a stylish beautiful Heritage property.

Paul & Brenden have created a beautiful, friendly, comfortable, environment. It was like magically going back in time- but with all the modern conveniences. Our bed was the most comfortable of all the beds in our month travelling around Tasmania. The views from the front verandah to the port were stunning. It was a joy chatting with Paul & Brenden. We hope to return to this beautiful historic home. Thank you Paul & Brenden.

Looking for somewhere to stay in Devonport? Don't go past The Grande on Macfie. Beautiful big Victorian house, furnished impeccably with period furniture. Gorgeous, warm, quiet bedrooms - this is not a 'cookie-cutter' fit-out of rooms- each is different and just as beautiful as the others. Just minutes from the ferry terminal, it's easy to get to. Breakfast is included and is fabulous!Multiple choices on the menu, great coffee. Paul and Brendan, the hosts, are lovely - they are very accommodating, extremely helpful and lovely, kind souls. I don't think they know how much assistance they provided to us,- they met us at the ferry terminal, booked a beautiful local restaurant for dinner, drove us there and then to the airport the next day and responded to all my pre-arrival emails quickly, making organising the trip so much easier. Best value for money for accommodation I have had in a very long time.

Small establishment, so staff were very friendly and engaging. Breakfast was very good, I didn't expect the wide selection and cafe style quality.

A freshly cooked breakfast was greatly appreciated. The chef went the extra mile with my eggs for example. Both hosts made us feel welcome and at home and they contributed to ensuring we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The premises are beautifully and tastefully furnished and the proprietors clearly take pride in their business, wanting guests to feel looked after. They are wonderful hosts and ambassadors for the region.

The styling is amazing! The guest lounge and library was lovely to sit, read and relax. The owners are delightful and the breakfast delicious.
