Lovely family business with equally lovely staff. Our room was very clean and well appointed but on the small side. We found the location good for our plans for walks and relaxing and Kate very helpful in providing information. And we loved Max welcoming us to Gages Mill. The breakfast was great. Ashburton is a little village but we found most things needed easily.

A car is definitely needed to get around but most guests would be travelling with a car.

Lovely aspect, very close to so many interesting places. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. Beautiful garden. Comfortable sitting room with tv for guests to use.

The shower in our room was not very good with poor water flow. A suggestion would be to line the cream curtains with blackout lining. The sun rises early in June! Compared to our king size bed, we felt rather squashed on the standard double bed.

Gages Mill is a grand old building with lots of character. The garden was lovely, too. The best fruit salad ever was served at breakfast.

Very friendly, helpful hosts. Lovely home and surroundings with a very comfortable bedroom and lovely breakfast. Good restaurant within walking distance for evening meals. Very happy with our stay.

The hosts were very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area, we felt welcomed and supported throughout the stay. The bed was very comfortable, everything was very clean and the breakfast was great.

The waterworks were very noisy, it made us embarrassed to use the shower or toilet!

Kate and Nathan are fantastic hosts! The Breakfast was exceptional. The location is close to the Dartmoor National Park and other popular tourist spots in Devon. Good dining option at the nearby Dartmoor Lodge Hotel. Parking was not an issue.

The rooms need some refurbishment. A little more flexible timings for breakfast perhaps.

A little further from town than we were l3ad to belive, it was more than a few minutes walk into Ashburton.

Location was perfect for us for a wedding down the road. It was easy to access by car. Location was really quiet and picturesque. The breakfast was brilliant! So much choice and my vegan friend was really well accommodated with options. The hosts were so friendly and we felt really welcome and looked after.

The toilet is some sort of macerator and it macerated seemingly at random during the night, sounding like an ogre trapped in a cupboard.

Really good base to visit South Devon either in Dartmoor itself (just on the doorstep), or 30-40 minute drives to Salcombe, Dartmouth etc. Very good morning cooked breakfast too!

It was fine for us, but just to note it is a 15 minute walk in to Ashburton itself - though parking is free on an evening.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was in reach of all that was needed and Kate and Nathan, the hosts, were great and welcoming. We have been coming to this area for many years, staying at various B and B,s but this accommodation surpasses all those and we have found our go to place for future visits.
