Perfect Prime Location for people planning to either go and explore Snowdonia or much like me have a quiet time in working in a peaceful place whilst sorting personal stuff out

Nothing in particular - everything either met expectations or exceeded them

It was my first experience with hostel type property and I couldn't imagine better experience. It's just few simple rules to follow (for example clean after yourself in share space) and everyone will be happy. The room was amazing, bed was huge (!double bunk bed!) comfy and we even had a balcony with an amazing view. Everything was clean and smelled nice. The staff are very knowledgeable about the area they are always happy to help. i will definitely come back.

Family run hostel, very clean, has spacious kitchen with everything needed to make simple meals, plenty of tables/chairs in the dining area and also has a room to relax. We arrived on bikes and could keep them in the storage overnight. This place is very close to national cycle route no 8 - 10/18 miles (depends on the leg chosen) from Porthmadog so perfect to have a stop there. And bonus is there are alpacas and sheep pets the (behind the gates) which can be fed and they definitely like it.

Bunk beds doubles for the fam, clean and v comfy - nice terrace with view. Kids loved feeding the animals - really nice touch. Communal areas super clean, well resourced and spacious. Shops (and vineyards with lovely cream tea) v close. We all enjoyed playing pool - lots of 20ps available from owner. Really recommend - we will come back hopefully one day!!

Chairs on the terrace would have been perfect!! One guest had a Lord of the Rings type film on very loud - maybe a volume limiter could be used?

This was our second stay at Base Camp Wales and we will definitely be back again. We always meet great people there, lots of other families, the kitchen is clean and well-equipped with a good system for storing your food, and the kids loved feeding the sheep, chickens and alpacas. The location is brilliant, great for getting to Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula. Tim and Tom are excellent hosts and we will be booking again for next year!

Friendly staff, clean rooms, warm, quiet, great location, superb facilities, good local knowledge. This was my second stay at this hostel and always recommend it to friends. I will be staying here again next month too. Can't recommend it high enough for any person after a relaxing and affordable stay in Snowdonia. 👏😊

Very friendly brothers owned it The alpacas were lovely Kitchen well equipped and immaculately clean Heating in bedroom very effective Lots of fascinating walks in the area

Mattresses were a bit soft

located in a beautiful part of wales, kitchen was spotless and had everything we needed

Bedroom was very basic and a bit cramped

It was great, loved the space, the beds in the room were huge, we all had a double bed each. The kitchen and lounge were spacious and had everything you needed. Easy to find and good parking. Will definitely be back and recommend to friends!

The early check out! We had to be out by 10 and could have stayed in those beds just a couple of hours longer.

Excellent place to get your head down for a few nights whilst exploring the area. Friendly helpful knowledgable staff, really nice and clean, lovely hot showers. Over-exceeded my expectations by far, excellent value for money. Really nice place.

Accommodation is immaculate and the bunk beds are comfortable. Staff are helpful and take time to offer you advice on nearby places to visit. On the two different occasions I have visited guests have been considerate of others and keep kitchen spotless. Really good value for money. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else and will continue to recommend.

Tim was fantastic taking time out to help me programme my day up the mountain.

Lovely staff, great location, great price. Good for single travellers. Large single room, shared kitchen. Great for on a budget, and very near Snowden. If you don't fancy camping but don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel, then I would definitely recommend Basecamp Wales as an alternative.

Room was a tad cold

Loved the location. Loved the staff. Loved the room. Loved the view from the room. Loved waking up to grazing Marie Mcooo's outside our window. Loved the private bathroom for the price. Loved the spacious parking lot.
