My stay was incredible at Dowlais, the studio was perfect so clean and decoration is great. Bed is super comfy and everything you need is in the studio for you. Great location, fantastic messages and info from the hosts. Would recommend the studio to everyone will definitely return !!!

Studio was brilliant, super clean and had everything I needed. Great area and lots of restaurants to choose from which the hosts suggested in their email which I would recommend to read as has some great options. Overall an amazing trip and would suggest the studios to anyone visiting Merthyr Tydfil especially is looking to visit the Brecon Beacons, great location for it.

The studio at James Places is amazing I am so happy with everything from start to finish. All communication with James and Angela was brilliant and they are so friendly. I couldn’t have asked for anything more from the studio it was perfect and had everything I needed. All clean and tidy and such a fab location for exploring. I hope to be back soon

The studio was amazing, I had the best stay. Everything was top standard and the studio was very clean. Comfy bed and great facilities in the studio, the area is great for exploring the area would definitely recommend. Every email from the hosts had lots of information and they are very helpful.

the property is in a great location - we were able to get into town quickly and the train to Cardiff is so easy to use. the owners were incredibly helpful before we arrive and gave us some great recommendations for things to do/see & places to eat. their instructions for entering the property were also clear and there is a free car park behind the property.

our one criticism is that there weren’t enough kitchen utensils - things like cutting knives, scissors etc. it isn’t a deal breaker but we intended to cook in the kitchen facilities a number of times and these other utensils were much needed!

The studio flat was very clean ,matched the description on the website and the whole place was very nicely and uniquely decorated. The email communications received from the owners prior to our visit was fabulous. About 10 days before arrival they provided a very detailed list full of recommendations for places to visit and places to eat along with a nice sightseeing driving route through the Brecon Beacons. We followed a lot of the recommendations and this saved us a lot of time in having to put in our own research beforehand. The owners responded very quickly as well when 1 of the lightbulbs needed replacing and did so instantly. The flat was very conveniently located to the Brecon Beacons and everything was within easy driving distance and we would definitely recommend staying here.

The only minus we can possibly think of was that the shower unit was quite small, but we managed OK with this though. It might have only been the case for our room as we were staying on the top floor.

Room 2 was cosy and nice decor. Affordable stay close to the hikes we were doing.

Room 2 is ground level and a little hidden behind the stairs. Loud fan sound in the room. On our stay we had noisy neighbours all evening in room 3 above , loud music and constant walking around in heels! Perhaps guests were not aware about others staying and could be warned in future.

The facilities were excellent, the room and entire building were clean and very well kept, the instructions for gaining entry were detailed and clear, and the staff we met were very friendly. The building was nice and quiet most of the time, which was a great plus, as was having a shop a and number of takeaway places so close by.
