The view
Low lighting in room difficult to see in bathroom at night. No hot water, toilet constantly dripping/running leading to inconsistent access, some tap handles needed repair. Safe didn’t work. Limited meal options, no alternatives for non-dairy or gluten free etc. considering a bit way out from main town. Waited nearly an hour for a meal at 5pm only 3 guests being served. No medical support or link to a general practitioner if a health issue arises.

Love the view breathtaking
Far from everything. The information on website about distance from attractions or local places are incorrect.
Incorrect information about dining and very expensive. Also not soundproof and no safe no cleaning products etc. spa is a 24 hour reservation.

The location is beautiful, nicely put a top of the cliffs overlooking the ocean! Loved it!! The rooms are big and spacious too. My trip was relaxing
The roads are terrible to get there and the food wasn't great. It wasn't bad but not great.

Immaculate views of the sea and surrounding greenery, friendly staff
Wifi was okay at best, bathroom was a little cramped.

The view is to die for. My room is located on the top floor with hammock on the balcony . Room was cleaned and fresh. We slept with the door open fresh air and sea breeze
The waitress at the restaurant is not pleasant. She need to spend less time on her phone and attend to the customer.
Restaurant price is already high so give a excellent customer service

Location and staff
Receptionist didn’t inform us of any of the facilities, about the hotel or the spa. She then took our payment as soon as we arrived and showed us a very small room. I asked to be moved and we got a slightly better room. We would expect to be informed of the facilities the hotel has to offer such as spa and the restaurant’s opening times. To confound our disappointment, on our way to the restaurant, we saw rooms with television and coffee making machines. We would have welcomed these extra comforts expected in a 4 star rated hotel. We would have expected a fridge to keep water. We have to be honest and say we would not be returning.

The view is to die for. it was our anniversary we received a free update ;) . Before calling the hotel we had seconds thought about going because of some of the reviews , talking to Monique we felt like we would be in good hands. Customer service was on point over the phone and in person.
Thanks Monique we will be back in December with the family

It’s peaceful and clean. The food is also amazing
no iron in the room or blow dryer. but I was able to ask for the items and I did received them but the iron was broken.

Spent 4 nights at sea cliff in white cap suite 2. My stay was beyond excellent.
Views of the ocean, friendly staff, comfortable bed. I will definitely be back some day. Be sure to buy some groceries and get cash (for taxis/entry fees) before you get here.
There are a few things I would improve
#1 get rid of the bath mats and use bath towels instead. There were hairs (I have an Afro so definitely were mine) in them which the cleaner cleaned after I pointed them out.
#2 clean the bathrooms a bit more thoroughly
#3 work on food supply, jerk sauce, yams and plantains ran out every day. So I wasn’t allowed to order more sides.

The room we initially stayed in was beautiful but it was on the ground floor, after the first night of three we cheekily asked for an upstairs room and within half an hour we got the top floor, best view room... Room 11. Stunning views, accommodating staff, breakfast was delicious and different every morning. Cannot brag more!
The road on the way to the hotel was under construction so a lot of pot holes, half an hour took an hour. No fault of the hotel but something to bare in mind until the road is fixed

The view
The upkeep of the room, the Ac was leaking, the floor wasn't clean enough, the room door was jammed to the floor.

The view was impeccable
The room was musty and dirty and need upgrading. The bathroom was also dirty and musty.
5.0
The view was exceptional and there was a sense of calm in the settings. Bed was very comfortable and made good sleep.
Didn't like that there was no TV in the room this can be better advertised. Also there was a fridge in the room with not even a bottle of complimentary water. The complimentary breakfast was two options. The cost for the rooms would lead me to think that even an iron would be provided.

The location was ideal. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Liked they had friendly dogs around.
Liked they had quite a bit of solar power. Loved that they provided breakfast. Liked didn't have TV. Cleanliness a plus. Didn't feel over crowded.
Beach access on the property probably would be a nice addition.

not sure I liked the bath area

nice views. large room and comfortable beds. good air conditioning. decent breakfast. It’s a rustic but nice place. nice stopover when visiting the area.
Swimming pool was too dirty. the restaurant is too expensive for what they offer. I paid 12US for a flambee slide of pinapple! no fridge in the room.

The food was excellent and waking up to the sound of the ocean amazing
The stairs are steep I wouldn’t recommend top floor to anyone who likes to drink it’s also low hanging.

Love the location and the size of the 3 rooms we choose.
Love the guide their suggested for Reach falls ( Leonard)
No wifi, the restaurant service was very long, expensive for what it was and not good.

Great sea views from all rooms and especially the four of five smaller front tables in the restaurant. A sort of retro 70s modernist vibe. Nice varnished wood in rooms. Excellent Jamaican breakfast included in our rate and worth waiting until 0830 earliest for and served in such a nice spot that it’s worth lingering for most of the morning. Lobster salad was a good dinner dish. Friendly breakfast staff.
I get it that there’s little tourism development and therefore few well trained staff or good managers and little competition in Portland (compared to eg Negril and around Ocho Rios or MoBay) but this place was still overpriced and had a number of issues that would be quite easy to fix to make it worth a return visit. Some of the many examples. As I say most are small, but I highlight as they can set the mood and would be easy to fix. first some rooms have fridges some don’t. you expect paying $188 a night to get a fridge. or if not a fridge, easy access to ice. I went to reception for ice, was told I couldn’t have a whole bucket as it was needed for dinner, waited 5 minutes for the chef to hack off half a water jug full. second, no kettle or coffee maker or tea/coffee facilities in the room. that’s a must if breakfast doesn’t start until 8.30 which is pretty late and inflexible for a hotel charging this much. . Third, room doors were a bit warped and they jammed, but were ok and didn’t let in mosquitoes. Fourth, the hammock on the balcony can’t be pegged back, so there’s little room on the balcony for two sitting on chairs. fifth the pool was a bit cloudy, but not had rained a lot. Sixth, the walkways were a bit treacherous with large gaps between circular paving stones. 7th, there was a half-finished, or half-demolished, fountain with no water in under the stairs - suggest it’s just replaced with planters or something as it makes the place look down at heel. 8th, it was a bit off-putting to have to (or be strongly encouraged to) make dinner choices at check-in when I wasn’t hungry or in the frame of mind to think about it. 9th the hot and cold taps are reversed in the shower of room 14.
