The building site opposite, but it wasn't a deal breaker as we were out most of the day. The noise would bother anyone staying at home during the day

+ very friendly hosts that can provide a lot of useful contacts/advice for our trip + great flat (clean, comfy beds, a lot of useful kitchenware which is not really common but was incredibly handy, 3 bathrooms!!! ) + no issues with wifi (great connect watching youtube kind of stuff) + close to city center + ocean view

Great location and lots of space. The apartment looks exactly like the pictures and bars=restaurants are all in walking distance.

There is a major construction site right in front of the property which didn't bother us too much. but if you like to sleep longer in the morning definitely something that might want to consider

Very nice and specious apartment !

This is the most difficult review to write in so far as being fair to the owner and future users. Without doubt the apartment is beautiful and huge, especially for two. we equipped and in a great central position near restaurants and bars. Free private parking is a particular bonus in Funchal. However our stay was ruined by a new building being constructed right opposite. Wouk with pile drivers and diggers continued in operation from 8am to 7pm and the noise was horrific and meant the balcony was impossible to sit on and even with all doors and windows closed noise inside was so bad we had to move out after 3 days. The owner was very sympathetic and returned the money for unused days. This work on what will be a big development will continue for two years, according to the builders, but also when complete it will obscure the great view of the port as seen on the web site. We feel so sorry for the owner as what was clearly a wonderful apartment in a prime location will be severely spoiled by the new building.

Loved the location, unfortunately the weather was poor so didn't get to use the pool ( shared with other apartments) agents were fab and helped with transfers, late check out etc the apartment has everything you need. Would deffo stay here again!

Location was ok, near the Fort and town centre. The apartment was very spacious and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty towels. Good washing machine /dryer and clothes airier but couldn’t put outside.

Very noisy from 8am till dusk Monday to Friday due to building work. We had to keep doors and windows closed and had to go out all day as it was awful. They were using a huge hydraulic rock ram to break up the bedrocks. There were two there the second week. We arrived on Saturday so weekend was ok but it started on Monday at 8am. We could t use the balcony or pool. We hoped to spend some time just chilling at the apartment and pool but were unable to. After 2 years of stress with our daughter on the frontline in the NHS and my husband having a brain injury we didn’t need this stress on holiday. We were offered another apartment but it was miles out of Funchal or refund for days we did not use and go to a hotel both of which would have been very disruptive as we had unpacked and bought provisions. I don’t know what the builders plans are but they could be there for months
