Nice property
Spacious house, great location, nice neighborhood. Near high rise hotels, walking distance to Palm Beach Mall, restaurants and beaches. Being able to rent the owners car was a great benefit. Really enjoyed our 4 month retirement vacation in Aruba. Will definitely visit again.

New Years Eve on the island
My husband and I rented this house for 8 days over new years with our three college age kids. Plenty of room. Two of the bedrooms have an extra twin in it so that helped with sleeping arrangements. House was clean and comfortable. We also rented her car which was a great deal. Internet worked great, we had no problems with it at all. Plenty of towels, beach towels and chairs to take to the beach. We also used the cooler to take drinks and snacks to the beach. Not far to Arashi Beach. The owner will give you suggestions on restaurants and grocery stores if you need it.

We stayed here 2 weeks in June. Eileen the owner was very helpful and responsive in answering emails and questions. She even followed up aftwerwards asking about our trip. Elvin met us at the airport right on time and took us to the house. The house is a five minute drive from the beach. You really do need the truck. It is very close to Arashi Beach, which is a gem of a beach and maybe the best on the island, and Boca Catalina which is the best place to snorkel. The house is very well maintained, comfortable, well furnished, and has AC in the bedrooms. The kitchen was well furnished although there are so many great places to eat in Aruba we did not use it except for breakfast and lunches. There was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The neighborhood is safe and the neighbors are very friendly, including a local dog who came by occasionally. On our departure Elvin met us at the airport right in front so we could drop the truck off. It could not have been easier! I highly recommend staying here and would do it again in a heartbeat. Aruba is a great place and this is a great place to stay.

My wife, daughter and I arrived at Aruba on a Tuesday and took a $20 taxi to the caretakers job to pick up the truck. From there he led us to Eileen's home. The pictures are all accurate. It's located in a quiet rural area called Kamay. First impressions of Aruba are the heat, humidity (even with the constant breeze) and the very bright sunlight. Air conditioning is a must, and we welcomed it when at the house. You definitely need to drive to reach a lot of the sites, which we spent the vast amount of time doing (Ostrich Farm, Phillips Animal Farm, Desalinating Plant, Aloe Vera Plant, Natural Bridge, California Lighthouse, Fort Zoutman Building, Archeology Museum, 7 Beaches, a closed Drive-in theater, the old Gold Smelting building, The Old Oil Refinery, the Submarine ride, the Explorer underwater boat ride, Butterfly Farm, the Alto Vista Chapel, and many other locations. The major supermarkets (Ling & Sons and Super Foods) reminded us of Cosco and BJs except the the selections were much greater and cleaner. Lots of international selections which we loved. Prices are a tiny bit more expensive than in NYC but it was expected due to most everything being imported. The Aruban folks are very friendly and helpful. I purchased an Aruba GPS map for my Garmin Nuvi and it was a lifesaver on several trips to the eastern and souther sections of the island where roads have no names and people are very hard to find. I recommend it as a backup. We missed going to the Arikok National Park but we will be coming back. Cell service on the island is either through Setar or Digicell and at the house it is spotty or non-existent even though I have a Galaxy S4 with a international plan. We could not find any WiFi at the house except something called Kamay Wireless that had low signal and locked. So, we simply went to the many wireless hotspots around the hotel areas and made our calls and checked emails there. I also use Google Maps to plan trips and wifi was needed to do that. Aruba is a night island. Most businesses open after 4:00 pm. Most, but not all, restaurants were the same. We took the time to finally research and find where to go for lunch or sometimes breakfast. Nights on Aruba were nice. The breeze and clear night sky was exhilarating. The Shoco Owls on the property were fun to watch as were the lizards and iguanas. All in all we had a wonderful time and will be coming back to Eileen's house as soon as time and money allow us.

This is a fabulous gem of a place to vacation !This home was great, what you see is exactly what you get, except it is better in real life than the pictures show. It truly is a home away from home and in a fantastic location! We could walk to the high rise hotels for the night life and walk to the beaches! Having the little truck was the BEST! If visiting Aruba, you really need to rent a vehicle and the little truck was great to get around in. The house was very clean, well stocked with anything one could need including spices - which was a nice surprise. There is a corner store with in walking distance and a huge grocery store a short drive away. Grocery prices were around the same as home (High River, Alberta, Canada) but with a much more Europe type variety. Great Cheeses! Elaine was great to deal with (we sent a money order, I know you are not supposed to.....all went well.) The damage deposit was sent back very promptly and Elaine was a great source of information as this was our first trip (but not our last) to Aruba. When we go back, we will book again with Elaine for this home, an absolute GREAT value for the price!!!!! - Check out Iguania Joes (downtown) and the Salt & Pepper (high rise area) to eat. We have to admit that all meals were very good to great while eating out in Aruba. (Only avoid Dunkin donuts for coffee, yuck!!!) If you like fish, try the grouper (thanks Elaine for that tip), great fish! There was even a crib board, a few board games and some books for that home style feel and the restful times. There was lots of towels, bedding etc. Having a washing machine was great and items dry in about 10 minutes on the line in that hot Aruba sun! It is breezy in Aruba with those warm trade winds. There are lots of lizards and iguanas around the house. The resident owls are the BEST!!! Check out the butterfly farm, you can get a pass to visit every day (no extra cost other than admission). It is a serene, beautiful place to take your morning coffee and watch the butterflies! Check out the old "goat" golf course out (unusual fun experience), and baby beach has some good snorkeling. With the little truck, we did not need to go on the "tours", we just drove to the place. We did however, enjoy the (semi) submarine water tour. We had a Fabulous time!! Thanks Elaine for your tips and a great Aruba vacation experience!!!! We will visit your home again soon, from your western Canadian new friends!!

We stayed at this house for the last 2 weeks of March this year. The house itself was very nice and the kitchen was well equipped. There were 5 adults in our party and there was lots of room. We were met at the airport and driven to the house which was very helpful as the house is a bit off the beaten track. However, we were within walking distance of 2 restaurants - The Old Cunucu House was about 10 minutes away and Anna Maria was just around the corner, less than 5 minutes away. Both were very good choices. I highly recommend that you include the truck with your rental if you are not renting your own vehicle as, aside from the restaurants mentioned, little else is within walking distance. The beach is really only a 5 minute drive, but it would be too hot to walk. If you get a chance to go and listen to Elvin's (the property manager) band it is a lot of fun. It was a great relaxing 2 weeks in Aruba and the truck allowed us to eplore the whole island.
