A total hidden gem! A last minute booking turned out to be a highlight of our trip to the northern Ecuadorian coast. Kim and her entire staff (including the furry welcoming committee) were the friendliest we’ve encountered by far. We can’t say enough about our amazing stay at Cottages by the Sea. Gorgeous ocean views, gorgeous gardens, gorgeous rooms! Impeccable clean…we can’t wait to visit again and bring our whole family!

We liked staying in “cottages by the sea” very much. The location is great, you can always hear the ocean noise. It was a surprise to meet English speaking hosts. Oliver and Carmen are very friendly and welcoming. They helped us with delivery from cafes, gave games and swimming accessories for children. Moreover it seems to be a very safe place. We didn't even always close the door.

Especially nothing. Everything was fine.

This is a paradise. The cottages by the sea far exceeded my expectations. I found myself walking into a beautiful garden beyond description. Flowers, statues, and foliage captured my eyes. The paintings and murals also added to sensual pleasures. The total ambiance was exquisite.The swimming pool, rocking chairs, and hammocks invited me to relax. The ocean was ten steps away. After a dip into the waters, I sat down at the bar of the cottages relishing a chilled beer, listening to the murmurs of the waves. I also enjoyed the breakfast with omelet, toast, pancake, fruits, avocado, etc. The coffee is available during the entire day. Most of the units in the cottages have a kitchen. The hot water and air conditioning work well without fault. The most memorable is our host. Kimberly and her staff including Luis and Sol run the place with dedication and personal touch. I delighted in all the conversations with them. I had an early check out at 4:30am this morning. Kimberly broke her sleep to say good bye and Luis was there to open the gate. My three-day experience at the cottages by the sea will be etched in my memory. I’m sure that I will return soon to relive it. George

Travelled with my husband son and my parents. The property is amazing, rooms are nice and clean, the staff is lovely and Kimberly the owner makes us feel like we were home. Highly recommend for a family, children will love the pool. Thank you for an amazing stay :)
