Room was clean, bottle of water provided, socket close to the bed. I could easy check in with a code for the security lock.

Smell of cigarettes. Everywhere. I'm a not smoker,so very sensitive to this smell. Customers in "die Kneipe" downstairs smocked all inside. Very bad. No WiFi password was provided. No clear indication to find a room and a bartender in "die Kneipe" whom I did asked for help was unfriendly.

There was no WiFi even though they said it was included. The room was also very noisy as there was a party in the pub right under the room

Never found the only-one common shower occupied.

Bed was not clean on arrival. Very noisy (the door connecting the bar downstairs is open and walls seem to be made of paper). Towels were never replaced and bed never checked.

On a solo motorbike tour of Europe, I chose Em Dorfkrug completely at random. I do that sometimes and I've found some gems - Em Dorfkrug is such a gem. My room was very clean and tidy. The little touches convinced me the hostess wants guests to feel very welcome; the fancy work with the towels and the little sweets left out. On meeting the host, I was given a brief tour of the amenities by the very nice lady and left to my own devices (the accommodation is not staffed). All the info I got was all I needed: room, key, bar next door opens at 5pm. With some time to spare, I took a short ride around the area (for bikers, there are some nice roads out this way). After freshening up on my return, I walked a few paces to the bar. There I met some new friends for life for the night. What a great night! After a few drinks, we all got hungry and shared pizzas at the bar. The memory makes me want to go back there. I probably will. I was pleasantly suprised by my room. The bed was very comfortable and the shower fantastic. Everything was very clean and tidy. My room was one of 3 (I think) on the ground floor. Whlist booking, I was under the impression that all rooms had shared facilties. I was delighted to find I had an ensuite room. I will be sure to ask for the same room when I visit again. It is no exaggeration to say this place was one of the highlights of my 12 day trip. I felt so welcome at the accommodation and the bar next door. Incidentally, this is in a suburb of the Bonn/Cologne district, but could be a million miles away. A wonderful experience.
