Everything about the hotel was fine - the room was clean and comfortable, it was very quiet and had quite a large bathroom. Good breakfast and nice staff. Rather than physically checking-in, we got a code for a lockbox next to the front door, and our keys were inside.

There was a drinks/snacks machine in the hallway. One of the other guests tried it and it seemed not to be working. The breakfast room would have made a decent bar for drinks later in the day, but they weren't set up for that. One thing strikes us about Monschau as a travel destination - and this is no criticism of the hotel - all the restaurants seem to be struggling with severe staff shortages. They're running around like crazy to accommodate all the tourists, and having a hard time of it. Also, they are rather schnitzel-heavy.

Everything was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom has been recently renovated. 3-5 minutes walk from the city center. Good breakfast, what you can expect from a small family-hotel

None. However, it should be mentioned that bathrooms were very small, but you can't really expect more from an old historical building

The very warm but discreet welcome, everything was very clean, the cosiness of the room, the first day and night I was the only person staying in the hotel, so I got a personalised breakfast. (and the breakfasts are nice, you get different cheeses and hams to choose from as well as fruits, eggs, yoghurts... )The wifi worked as expected, no surprises, what was said on here was what I got.

Nearly nothing, maybe the small bathrooms, but that's the peril of staying in an old historic house, modern conveniences have to fit into smaller spaces. But apart from the fact that it was a pretty tight space everything in there, was like new and very clean.

It could use some interior upgrade, as it's a bit old fashioned, but regarding overall experience that's a detail.

The location was amazing and the room was very clean.

The walls are very thin, which is to be expected in an old house. The breakfast was okayish (Not as good as it is shown on some of the pictures).

Fantastic location: Just a few minutes walk from the main square. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is very close to the main square(with the famous bridges) + restaurants + bars. The hotel is located on a street with lots of bars, shops , restaurant. Monschau is a very small city so everything is walkable distance (parking, runis, castle, etc) Big Room: We got the family room which was big in size, with very comfy beds & sitting area. Even though the room was facing the main street below, there is hardly any disturbance. Responsive staff: We were going to arrive a bit early than 3pm , so the staff was quick to respond to our msg and let us know how to get the keys.

The only couple of reasons i would not give it a 10/10 are: Hot Water & water pressure: The water pressure in the hand shower was extremely low, so low that you literally have to stick the faucet right to ur body to get the water. Getting hot water & finding that sweet spot of temperature was a bit tricky. Initially the water was extremely cold and took about 4-5 minutes to heat up , once heated it was extremely hot and when i tried to reduce the temp a bit it went to being extremely cold again & then ur stuck in that cycle of extremely hot or extremely cold , so it was difficult to get the right temperature (Tip: Just stick with it being extremely hot & in 6 - 7 mins it will come down to a manageable temperature) Breakfast: I thought the options were way too limited (Not a big concern, is manageable)

Perfect location. Friendly and helpful staff. Good service with late check in. Pleasant room and bed.

Shower in room nr. 9 turns from freezing to boiling and back every 10 seconds. No possibility to take a decent shower. We couldn't have breakfast at Sunday @ 10 am. It was already finished, we were told. A little early and harsh for a sunday morning, but the staff prepared sandwiches for us and gave it a fiendly swing.

Staff was great - very friendly, helpful, and professional. The location of the hotel is central and easy to get to. The bed was comfortable, and the room very clean.

You hear everything! People outside. People in the next room. People above your room. Heck, even people outside your door going to their room yet are trying to be quiet... And then, there's the bathroom. Everything is there, and it worked (and was clean too). But you need either be an elf, or a gymnast to use it comfortably. The toilet is at an angle and you can't sit on it. The sink is too large for the area and even a slight bend means your back is against the wall. And the access via the accordion doors (which really could have been better thought out) is quite narrow and awkward with the small step leading from it. Information on the heater in the bathroom, and how to operate it, would have been nice too

Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Easy check in and out. Great bed. Fridge and TV in the room. Self service coffee and tea station on the corridor (free).

The coffee at breakfast wasn't great but the rest of the buffet was ok.

Clean and conveniently located.

WiFi connection was terrible (just gave up and used tethering). Separate toilet was slightly inconvenient, but it was clean and only you have access (by key) so not bad.

Was a great stay in a great location. Staff is super nice! Would highly recommend!
