Breakfast really poor.

I arrived & the manager was bizarre, the check in was chaotic. I specifically asked for good Wi-Fi he laughed & said “I must admit room 4 has bad Wi-Fi, but you can work on the patio or the canteen on the 1st floor”. I was told the breakfast is free, but he kept on talking about alcohol, he used expletives a few times & then spoke about alcohol again. I am a Muslim, I told him, he kept on speaking about local bars on offer. I ignored all of this but when I went to my room it had no Wi-Fi at all & the room had a major pest infestation, which he laughed off as “you are in the jungle”. The next morning I asked for another room as I am on a working holiday, he finally gave me a room with good wifi but tonight the pests are back, I have about 100 in my room, I can hear them, it’s disgusting. It’s over $200 per night, not worth it at all. It’s a budget hotel, with awful Wi-Fi. It really ruined my first impression of Costa Rica, I will never come back.

Had a fantastic stay! The feng shui of the property is great: opened, facing North, from every room. We enjoyed the pool, accommodations and breakfast. Thank you very much!

I don't believe it's the owner's fault, but the wifi was not usable in the rooms, only common areas (concrete construction)

This was our first stop in Costa Rica. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the view of the sea is spectacular. Lots of attention to detail made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. We were greeted with cool towels and cold fresh water to feel refreshed. We took a dip in the pool at night. Each room has a private sea view balcony to sit and drink your morning coffee or just to soak in the beautiful scenery. Our breakfast was outstanding, with fresh food, beautifully presented at a table overlooking the sea as well as many beautiful plants and colorful birds. We felt so welcomed and couldn’t imagine a better way to begin our time in Costa Rica. Highly recommend!

Everything exceeded our expectations

From the time we walked into the reception area we felt welcome. Breakfast was excellent and casual (in a good way). The views from the rooms were spectacular.

Beautiful property. We loved the pool and the room was immaculate. The owner made us feel very welcome and provided fantastic breakfast.

The glass doors were thin and not sound proof, so we were woken up by the guests next door having drinks late at night.

This is as good as it gets plain and simple. Flo the owner and host is simply remarkable. The breakfast is divine. The rooms are large, comfortable and when you open up your door you look out to a view to die for.

Nothing to dislike. I do have qualify to this as it is an adventure to drive there but that's part of the Cista Rica charm.

Clean room and great service

Amazing view of above Ocotal bay, excellent ocean and island views. Perfect upper patio just right to enjoy some champagne with the views. Good covering so rain didn’t hit us. Felt private, good blackout curtains, good AC unit, nice hot showers. Flavio the Owner/front desk/Chef/concierge wore many hats and made sure we were well acquainted with the facilities, our room, the kitchen area etc and provided a perfect breakfast of fresh diced fruit, eggs, toast, bacon and a small salad, coffee, water and orange juice. All very nice touches that made the stay feel personalized. Fortunately we found Pura Vista after having already booked M&M hotel in Coco Beach. We are so happy we decided not to stay there. Ocotal has a nicer more private beach with club Marcuya nearby that will serve you drinks by the water if you’d like.

Absolutely nothing

Property was very clean. The view from the pool and restaurant are just like the pictures…beautiful. The breakfast was delicious every day. Our host “Flo” was extremely nice and attentive.

Flo was an excellent host, very accommodating. The view is amazing. Breakfast was delicious.

The view, the hospitality, the energy..it was all so great! Flavio goes out of his way to make sure his guests have a great time. I'll definitely be back.

The internet was sort of spotty in my room (downstairs). That was easily fixed by stepping onto to patio by the pool area.

Room was lovely With new modern decor, super clean , really comfortable beds and with your own personal outdoor sitting area by the pool. View is amazing and Flo’s breakfast is so delicious!

The view was EVERYTHING, the owner was extraordinarily accommodating and nice. And the breakfast was so fresh and good! It was pretty much a bed and breakfast with an amazing view.

The pool wasn't clean

Very small parking but we didn’t know about the extra area on top until morning.

Excelent place, Pacific view.

The hotel was very quiet, clean and exactly as pictured. Pride of ownership in this boutique hotel. The room and view were fantastic. We practically had the entire pool to ourselves.

The roads into the property were very challenging and absolutely require an AWD or 4x4 - nothing the property has control over though.

Loved the hotel and the view that it provided. The host was very nice and helpful.

Parking is difficult, I suggest parking on top of the hill rather than the parking lot.

Beautiful and well maintained property. The owner takes great pride in his hotel. My favorite part was the pool and the breakfast room. Also, that view!
