The air conditioning unit did not blow cool air.

This property is located on what is now the current extreme eastern edge of Juan Dolio. It is directly opposite a very nice restaurant where I have a had several meals. I believe all the apartments are ocean view, mine had a very nice floor to ceiling sunshade which totally blocked the morning light. Bed was comfortable, Shower was ok, not great, towels available for the pool, everything clean. BTW - No english TV channels.

I can't believe I would ever complain that I was too cold in the DR, but The bedroom was cold. not to worry, I used an extra bedspread from the other bed! Be aware, There is no sandy beach here - you will need to walk a few hundred meters if you wish to feel the sand between your toes.

Everything starting from the check-in that I made with a neighbour and not with the owner. This never happened to me, in any of the the apartments I have rented in Juan Dolio in the past years. I understand that meet the owner is not a mandatory but it is a matter of kindness and respect anyway. The apartment suffers of an evident lack of maintenance and cleaning; Beetles everywhere in the kitchen until the point to require the intervention of a disinfection company. Refrigerator dirty and was still was containing food coming from previous guests maybe. Lights not working, sinks and shower clogged; these are all things that must be solved BEFORE a guest arrives. Vacation is finished and I still have to meet the owner personally. All the issues I have encountered are always been handled by message or by email through the Booking.com email chain. I spent one third of the week fighting with beetles in the kitchen, including the time I spent at the computer asking the owner to come personally at the apartment and see the issues personally, but without success. Now I only want to forget this sad experience.
