This house was great for us 7 adult sisters & our 87 year old dad! Lots of room to cook & be together in the kitchen, at the dining table, & in the spacious living room. The 8 of us easily gathered to plan our next day's adventures, including visits to Acadia & Bar Harbor. Lovely to take the kayaks out. Great communication.

Great property for families - access to the water was used each day. Plenty of space, kids were very entertained in the basement. The kitchen was well stocked to make all our own meals. Steve was very responsive to my questions.
*Of note - reminder that the house does not have AC which we assumed would be fine until the temperature was in the low 80s our entire stay (!). Got a bit uncomfortable, but the fans in the house helped!

It was a great place to stay, thank you.

We loved our time at this home. Good location to explore this part of the coast. The listing states that it's a bit of a drive to Acadia area, so we knew what we were getting and decided the access to the water was worth it. Know that it's impossible to enter the home without tracking in dirt and bits of travel. Not a huge issue, but the check-out guidelines require guests to sweep before they leave.
We swept a few times while there for our own comfort, but the last thing you want to do when you are packing to leave is to have to sweep up. Only thing I would recommend to the owner is to update the decor. Right now it"s a mix of styles by room rather than having a cabin, ocean or other vibe. Small thing overall, but it would really help the ambiance.

There were 11 of us in our group and this house had it all! The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and spices and the bathrooms have plenty of towels and rags which was so appreciated! There was more than enough space for all of us to be comfortable at all times. If you have a large enough group that you need to use the upstairs loft bed, I would recommend bringing sleeping masks as there is no door or shade to block out the morning sun as the sunrises. The back yard is so dreamy and provided stunning views every day. We were able to walk down below the shoreline during low tide and do some tidepooling and look for gemstones and wildlife. Each day we saw deer, birds, and little chipmunks in our backyard. If you plan on visiting Acadia National Park, it's more like a 45 minute drive from the house so something to be aware of for timing purposes. The home looks exactly like the pictures and having gates on the stairs was such a thoughtful gesture to ensure no one gets hurt. Finally, the owners were so communicative and accommodating. They were checking in on us for our flight and arrival, ensured lights were on when we arrived, and even brought us refills of propane. You can tell they really care about their renters and go above and beyond! Thank you for providing our family with a beautiful home to make some wonderful memories in!

We happen to have stayed there during the 2 100 degree weather with high humidity. It was painfully hot. Wish you would .invest in an air conditioner

WOW!!! The house was just perfect for our long weekend get-a-way in Maine. The house was well equipped, spotless when we arrived, kitchen fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals, the beds were comfy, strong wi-fi, amazing views, and the owner, Shawn, was friendly, available for questions, and even delivered fresh lobsters, right off the boat, to the house. The house is perfectly located for trips to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, Tidal Bay, Ellsworth, and phenomenal restaurants where you can eat all the lobster, crabs, scallops, and oysters you want. We look forward to returning to the host on our next trip to Maine.

Thank you for the use of your beautiful home. It was very clean and spacious. If I had to critique anything it would be to replace and update all the bedding and have a clean extra blanket in every room. Thank you

This huge house with stunning views was great for our family and another family to stay at the same time. We loved using the kayaks, and having the outside play structure and game room for the kids. The kitchen is huge but a bit bare-bones if you are planning to cook a lot.

We had a total of 12 people staying for the week. There was plenty of room and accommodations. The views were great. The kayaks were a plus. We had a baby with us and the crib and high chair were in good shape. They had other baby needs, but we didn’t use them. The new furniture was very comfortable and plenty of kitchen supplies. The house has one refrigerator, so bring coolers for a little extra room.
The town of Hancock wasn’t the best, or Ellsworth. It’s a little run down but we spent a lot of time in Acadia hiking or sitting at the fire pit. Many of the restaurants don’t open for lunch. They open at 4:00. Walmart is about 15 min away if you forget anything. Tital Falls, which is 2 miles away was a very nice 2 hours of entertainment. Go at low tide to see the star fish, other creatures and climb on the rocks. Bring water shoes for a better experience.
We had a very relaxing, great vacation and affordable. We would definitely rent again if we made our way back to Maine.

The pictures don’t do the house and location justice. Location is peaceful. The house is spotless. The view 5 stars. Only a 30-35 min drive to bar harbor. Communication with the host was speedy and informative and never made me felt like a burden. Would certainly recommend and did not want to leave.

The house is very well organized and as accurate as website description. We really enjoyed our stay , the kids loved that they had options as well. One recommendation to the owners is regarding the bathrooms. The main bathroom shower do not have hot water and the other downstairs bathroom has drain issues as well. This essentially made us all use the upstairs bathroom, which was a bit hard. Also, the play area outside is very fragile and do not recommend the kids to use it.

If I could go back today and stay for several months, I would! We had 2 families with 5 kids ranging 4 to 20. This house was perfect for everyone. The backyard was huge and the kayaking was so fun. The kids loved exploring the rocks out back and playing tag in the grass. The views were amazing and the house had a ton of space for everyone to spread out. The main room furniture has recently been replaced and was super comfortable. The beds were also comfortable and everything was really clean. The kitchen was completely stocked with anything you’d need to cook and serve a meal for a lot of people. The house doesn’t have AC but honestly it’s cool enough - even in summer - that you won’t need it.
When we weren’t venturing out to Acadia or Bar Harbor, we explored locally and found a little playground by the library as well as Tidal Falls, where they had beautiful starfish among the rocks on the coastline!
The hosts were incredibly responsive before and throughout our stay. A few of my friends have seen pics and heard me gush and all want the link to book a trip themselves!

We absolutely loved this house. The location was perfect. Quiet area, all the amenities and best of all the kayaking. If we are ever back in Maine this would be where we would want to stay again. Thank you for the memories

Large back yard right on the water, with kayaks and equipment available. The entire home is child-proofed. Huge kitchen, large comfortable living room. Four bedrooms with fifth day-bed hall upstairs. The master suite on the ground floor is gorgeous. We only needed three of the rooms. The unfinished basement is full of things to keep kids entertained.
Lots to see an do in nearby Acadia and around the area. Some great biking in the area.

I rented this house for our family weekend trip to Bar Harbor/ Acadia Park due to it's close proximity and great location to the surrounding areas. We really enjoyed the kayaks that came with the house and could use on the surrounding bay. The homeowner was great and very easy to communicate with throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone going on vacation.
Thank you,

First I would say the place is beautiful. The owner had great communication. I was disappointed though because one of the reasons I selected this house was because of the downstairs game room. The kids couldn't play down there because it seemed everything was broken or missing pieces. The furniture was old and worn but we didn't worry too much about that. The cleanliness was good with the exception of having to run across 2 spiders and there being spider webs/cob webs in the entry way on the ceiling. Due to the cold weather we didn't do anything outside. Plus the Geese rule over the area and filled the yard with their poop. I think if the furniture and the gaming area was replaced it would have been worth the amount paid. Besides that, we really enjoyed the stay and the view was absolutely gorgeous.

It was very easy to rent the property and we very much enjoyed our stay. Close to Acadia.

We chose this location because we had stayed here in 2011. We knew it was spacious and had great views and a large yard. We enjoyed this visit, also. Just a couple of notes though to the owners: the 2 upper bedroom doors do not close properly and would not latch into the doorframe, the same with the master bathroom door. The dining table top was very discolored, it could use sanding and staining. The bathroom sinks are slow draining. I thought there was an outdoor cooker with a lobster pot but we couldn't find it. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Poorly maintained, outdated, warn, dirty broken furniture, stained mattresses missing supplies. Great space and view

It is always difficult to gauge a property from the listing but this place exceeded our expectations. We were 11 people so we used every bed available. It was so nice to wake up and look out those large windows out onto the water. The kitchen was well furnished allowing us to cook every meal ourselves after getting our groceries. The kids really enjoyed the games downstairs, particularly the ping pong table. The kayaks were put to good use every day and we were grateful for the life jackets being provided. I reached out to the owner a few times for clarifications and he was very responsive. I hope we can go here again in the future.

This was our first experience in Maine to celebrate our papas 70th birthday. We all fell in love with Maine and this house. It was the perfect place to wake up and enjoy a spectacular view and we had plenty of space for our entire family. Thank you for creating a place where we will forever hold the sweetest memories for our family!

THE GOOD:
BEAUTIFUL HOUSE, GREAT LOCATION, INSIDE VERY SPACIOUS, AND CLEAN, FIT 8 ADULTS AND TWO YOUNG BOYS PERFECTLY. VERY QUITE. SAW EAGLE, SEAL'S OUT IN BAY AND HAD A VISIT FROM THE LOCAL FOX EVERY DAY. GREAT FIRE PIT, PLENTY OF WOOD TO BURN
THE BAD:
PLAYSTATION AND GAMES VERY OLD AND DID NOT WORK.
DECK NEEDS REPLACEMENT, HAD HOLES WHERE LEG OF CHAIRS WOULD GO THROUGH AND DECK NEEDED TO BE POWER WASHED, MOSS GROWING ON DECK. KAYAKS IN POOR SHAPE, ONLY 3 GOOD ONES OUT OF SIX. ICE MAKER DID NOT WORK BRING ICE. DESPITE THE BAD OVERALL GREAT PLACE

We really enjoyed our stay in Hancock, Maine with our family including little kids. The home is well stocked for kids with gates, a crib, a high chair, toys, and kid plates/ silverware. We loved getting to use the kayaks but would recommend you bring your own kid size lifejacket for little ones. Do not plan to use the swing set, it is leaning heavily in one direction and doesn't seem very sturdy anymore. Our favorite parts were the view and the fire pit which we used each night!

Great Views!
Ample space for family. Owner was helpful and communicative. House is for the views and location, however, the interior could use some love. Sofa and mattresses were not suitable for comfort. Still a nice stay! Thank you.

Enjoyed our stay
Spent 4 nights at the house. Spectacular views! Every morning we spent outside drinking our coffee and eating breakfast. Very family friendly setup with a big kitchen and dinning room. Mattress need to be replaced on some of the beds.

July 4
This was the best vacation. My adult children and grand kids were there. Very nice accommodations and Shawn delivered live lobsters for our very first lobster boil. Fabulous. One suggestion. There was no screen on the sliding door in the spare bedroom. No window meant no evening breezes.

very cool location. had great weather and we had a blast sitting down by the water. one morning a couple of us were sitting down there and a bald eagle cruised right over us at around 30 feet. great skies. very quiet and peaceful. the kayaking was pretty awesome. house is clean and pretty much as pictured.and the sunsets were super cool. would definitely recommend and hope to make it back again

Fantastic House in a Great Location
We loved this house!!! Our extended family of 9 stayed here on our recent trip to Acadia National Park. It’s a very spacious house with ample bedrooms & bathrooms, and the basement has lots to do with air hockey, foosball, and pool tables. You can’t beat the view of the bay. And having access to the kayaks was a real selling point for us. I would rent this place again.

Definitely one to look into
Great experience for myself and friends. There was plenty of room for us all. We had lots of shops /restaurants near us and Acadia was a short drive.
