The location was brilliant

The location was perfect. A beautiful old converted barn, in a nice location of the Lake District.
No outside lights, made the arrival very dangerous.
The pathway was full of dog excrement that if I hadn’t had torch we would have stood in. The welcome was non existent. The overall ambiance was the place had seen better and more lucrative days. The room had no complimentary soaps or shampoo as promised. The bathroom had no toilet roll. The hallway was full of old suitcases. The keys were left under a plant pot and the front door was particularly difficult to unlock. There was no breakfast, which it offered on booking.com.
When we arrived we had call someone who told he had a family emergency so we didn’t bother them.

This is an exceptional guest house in a great location. It is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed in at St Bees! I will definitely be back!

It was very spacious for our family of 4. Perfectly located for a family get together in the village.
Minor comment that really wasn’t an issue for us, but may be for others…A little more crockery as less than the number of people the rooms were booked for e.g. 2 bowls, 3 mugs etc for family of 4.

Breakfast was very tasty. Filled me up for whole day!Extremely friendly, helpful host. Even the resident friendly dogs added to warm atmosphere! Perfectly situated for the Cumbrian coast path and Coast to coast walk. Thanks for of lovely break. Look forward to returning again.

Rooms are big and beds are comfy. We didn't expect to have a self-catering area too, which was really great. Checking in and out was really easy.
